Avatar is the exception, not the rule. It was the long awaited follow up to one of the highest grossing films of all time, and came out in the Christmas period which is very good for films. It’s like how people say ‘Barbie made a billion, so [this] will too!’
@@alexp601 That wasn't his point, his point was John saying Avatar 1 & 2 didn't break 100 million their opening weekend when A2 def did. It did 134 mill domestic and 301 Overseas.
The MCU already built itself up through retcons, each movie in the first phase added some bit of history that shaped the rest of the universe, stuff that clearly wasn't there during the events of the previous movie, and if you take things like that at face value it adds more meaning when characters like Loki or Thor say something like "So, Earth has Wizards now?" Mutants could just be there one of these years, with a backstory that they've always been there. Captain America's Super Soldier Serum could have been created by the Nazis, and Erskine, based on experiments done mutants; experiments that were being recreated by Stucker on people like Wanda and Pietro.
For me personally there are so many movies I want to see in the cinemas but cost of living has stopped me from seeing them, before maybe I would see 3 or 4 movies now I’m lucky to see one. I believe the numbers for movies like mad max would be much higher if it wasn’t due to the higher cost of living
Question.. Do you think that, after watching the new trailer for Beverly Hills Cop Axel F, is Netflix leaving money on the table, by not releasing it in the cinema??
As John would say, in a thumbs up or thumbs down world I’d give Fury Road a thumbs up but I was never in love with it. The few performances I’ve seen her give though (The Menu, Split , The Northman) I liked.
What if we add cyber dinos and see Chris Pratt back as an older character. I just wanted the last one to be about more of the ultimate world disaster caused by dinos.
I’d rather they go much smaller, than continuously trying go bigger and crazier. Like a basic horror/thriller with dinosaurs in a confined space, focusing on the characters
Having Xmen permanently be in another universe is just dumb. They’ve managed to work perfectly fine sharing the comics universe so why not the MCU , yes it’s been slightly overcrowded recently , but jus get rid of a few C and D list characters and replace them with the Xmen and F4 and we are golden.
Nothing wrong with a little bit of both pertaining to X-Men either in or adjacent to the 616. People will want some interactions between some popular X-Men and Avengers, Spidey, etc. Then being in an adjacent universe allows them to capture that original dynamic with a fearful world just dealing with mutants. Of course, I still believe they can update the "hated and feared" motif to start as a panic over being hundreds or thousands of superpowered transplants from another world, with a political leader basically drumming them up as invasive species, bad hombres, etc. in need of regulation, registration, quarantine or deportation. From there irrational prejudice can take a life of its own to have common citizens having no problem with their known superheroes but hating mutants.
It will make around 177 I am telling you 👁️🫵 it is the biggest movie we all been waiting for and I am right 👍 on the nose marvel is back we all are talking about it people that don't read comics books is back on reading them and buying them off the Internet just to crack dead pool code and wolverine in the movie so that's what we are fine I'll hit the message 👁️🫵☺️👍
The last Jurassic Park didn’t focus on made up dinosaurs tho I thought. The Giganotosaur is not made up and enlarged locusts I guess is plausible but yeah stripping back to biologically reasonable would be better
To me Fury Road was a subpar Mad Max movie, guess I'm just not seeing anyone but Mel doing that role. And now you have this prequel to a subpar Mad Max movie, without Mad Max. So yeah, really not interested.
gonna just phone it in again and have ticket sales be your topic? this is what you discuss when you have nothing interesting to talk about ..who here shows up to a cocktail party and stirs their shirley temple all wide eyed and wants to have this conversation about ticket sales.. probably someone who has no friends
Avatar 2 made over 100 million dollars domestically in it’s opening weekend
John has consistently omitted Avatar 2 from box office discussions as of late.

@@Sketchcraft Ah okay!
For ‘R’ rated film

Darcy & Jimmy Show while Luis will narrate previous episode
Deadpool 3 will be about 250 million opening weekend.
There's no way. Maybe if it wasn't R but that rating restricts who can go.
I saw trinity wielding a lightsaber in the first trailer. I’m all in
I wanna see Mike Coulter square off/ partner up with Alan Ritchson in Reacher
Was it the same clip as in the extra credits of phantom menace?

It's funny how I'm catching up on these videos and seeing you guys say, $200 is a stretch! Made $211 opening!
Mighty Big Dickius Rex 😂...
And then Ray talking about Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis (that was a great game)!
Thanks⚡⚡⚡

It’s a madman movie without mad max! It’s also a prequel
People love Thor ...not Chris Hewsworth ...
Never seen a Mad Max movie
I would definitely recommend Mad Max: Fury Road. It is a great movie.
It’s a very stylized movie. Watch the trailer, if you really feel like it’s not for you then don’t watch it because it probably won’t be
Fury Road is highly recommended! If you like stylised fast-paced crazy vehicle action

Are they getting a ton of "inappropriate" questions sent in or something? Very strange way to put that.
What’s this dudes name?
Who?
sometimes there’s real conversations to be had here.. however chit chat about ticket sales feels like phoning it in sorry

what are you even yapping about 😂 you realize if you don’t want to watch you don’t have to click it right?
You act like a record being broken isn't something worth talking about
No wonder I have no friends.
