Question, can you program the switch to control a plug manually? Let's say I have some LED under counter lights plugged into a smart plug. Could I connect that smart plug wirelessly to the switch so that when it's manually toggled it controls those LED's?
So the switch needs to be physically in the up position for the WiFi to work. That much makes sense. Can you manually toggle the switch to control the lights in the event of a WiFi failure?
Nice video! Thank you! My only observation is that too much insulation was removed from the wires that were connected to the new switch boxes. No exposed wire should extend outside of the box.
I have 2 questions.. 1 if I don't have a ground or earth wire should I not attach the ground wire in the smart key??? 2 if I have 3 load wires in my old network do I need 3 smart keys or can I use 1 key and gather all 3 wires in one point and plug it in the smart key?? Thanks
I highly suggest watching this video since it will answer all your questions. But mainly - just copy how your old switch was set up into your new wifi one
Warning: If you have an older house the wall box may be too small to fit a 3 times larger switch and the extra connector caps. Then you have to put the old switch back or tear up your wall for a new box.
there are videos online that show the alternative, basically use a reciprocating saw to cut out the old box and then put in a Old gang box to make more room. not that hard.
Thanks for the video. It was great. Please adjust your cover screws… preferably vertical.
Nice details and camera angles. Audio was clear too.
😃

My smart dimmer has a red wire as well? Where this red goes onto?
Most red wires are also hot. You may need to cap it off.

Use a 10mm deep switch spacer between the switch and the patress box.

It is kinda tricky should I do it for this Wi-Fi double light switch
The tin snips to strip wires...
The white wire showing an exposed wire in the switch, so dangerous.
