I saw this film for the first time the past Sunday, November 13th, 2022 a bit late considering it was released 20 years ago but for me the timing was perfect. I felt related to the story, somehow we face today similar circumstances, living in a very strange and dark world filled with indifference, fear, hopelessness and uncertainty of what will become of us. Also forgetting or simply not being conscious that what should and truly moves us all is love, for the good or mistakenly sometimes for the bad too, just like Pasha. Lovely film, with a great story suited with the most beautiful compositions by Mr. Einaudi and great actors. Hans is going to be forever my perfect Dr. Zhivago. 💙 Someone said this film is poetry, I agree, it is poetry in pictures.
Passion, hunger, desire...if we had none Then how would we know we were alive. What do we have if we feel but can't touch Ones heart forever drawn in the gravity of love For the sun will continue to shine without us
Quite recently I watched Doctor Zhivago again for the first time in years. As always it made me cry for days and feel very bad😢 Every time the music popped into my head, I started weeping and my heart aches💔 It's torture for me to watch! I can't bear that Yuri and Lara doesn't live happily ever after (but under the Russian Revolution, who did?)😔 I wish they had stayed in Varykino and died together😞 And your performances are absolutely stunning! I know that it's "just" acting, but it's so convincing, it makes me think that you and Keira must have been in love in reality💖 Another thing that makes Doktor Zhivago so painful for me to watch, is the fact that I will never ever experience such a deep, beautiful and strong love, like the one there is between Yuri and Lara💔🥺
Under the revolution none? But afterwards, millions of people got access to education, healthcare, housing, jobs that paid, culture far more than in the russian empire
Hans Matheson you were brillant as Zhivago!
Hans Matheson is wonderful
Pure poetry. Magic and mystic interpretation. Pasternak would be proud of you, Hans Matheson!
Ms. Carna speaks the truth so beautifully and simply. You did not act this role, Hans; you brought it to life in all its beauty and imperfections.
