I've loved this anime since the old version to this new one xO!!! Great song and they way you made it look 3d 👍 to make something like this takes sooo much talent I'm positive about that!
Vash calling Knives Nai holds a place in my heart. In my culture, the word Nai isn't specific but it's a term of endearment like calling someone a sweet loved one. My mum calls me Nai. I do love this remake because it's done right. No one was changed or redone badly. The tone is not as silly as the first one but that's ok with me. Just like Dororo...it shows that we love classics and those who are willing to bring it back in a different style.
Oh, I adore the idea of Nai being a term of endearment, absolutely incorporating this into my Trigun belief system. Out of curiosity, what’s the language/culture this comes from?
Agree.since the first version of the series has always been classic just like cowboy beebop another awesome series...both versions of this series are amazing!
The original anime holds a place in my heart but I do like how this version focuses more on the emotions behind Vash’s quest to stop Knives. It so far really pushes the fact that Vash really doesn’t want to be alone yet is resigned to endure it until he brings an end to Knives lunacy
I didn´t like the og series since it was pretty boring the first half of the series... while in this new series vash is much more interesting as a character when he was in the og series.
This goes in my very short list of anime ops I can never skip. Much like Vash and his ideals, this song is hauntingly beautiful. The lyrics frame Vash’s inner thoughts in a way that is serene, melancholic, desperate, hopeful, and sad all at the same time. And the double meaning of “Koko ni nai”? From meaning “it’s not here” to “I’m here Nai”, I was stunlocked when I noticed it at the 3rd episode. I have loved Trigun for 10 years now and was skeptical when I first started watching. But I was hooked instantly. And while I usually never watch dubbed anime, Johnny Yong Bosch is Vash and I couldn’t imagine the series without him. He did a wonderful job. Some may complain, but Stampede? Yeah it is 100% still the Trigun I came to know and love. Give it a chance if you are still on the fence about it. You won’t regret it.
I just discovered it a few weeks ago, I hadnt even heard this was out. Agreed, I LOVE this intro. It is so emotional, I felt all those you listed…and I thought the same thing about the Koko ni nai verse.. although at first I heard Koko ni ai.. “here is love”. Both would fit imho, but I think the first one does better. Also I love the animation, it’s the best 3D anime ive seen so far.
The opening of Trigun Stampede (2023 -) is one of the best this year that I have seen, the animation, the C.G.I., the visual effects and the setting are simply and completely beautiful and beautiful. But the highlight of this opening is its melancholic and stylish melody of "TOMBI" by Kvi Baba, which manages to perfectly fit the character Vash and his essence.
I think they did a really good job of adapting the characters (Vash is pretty much perfectly adapted, character writing wise), I just can't get over the character designs like Zoomer Vash. Looks like the guy who took my cafe order this morning.
Right?! I can't comprehend how they can't just be happy that Vash is back. I think they don't understand how unlikely this was. Trigun (1998) flopped in Japan. It's truly a blessing that we got a reboot in 2023.
Regarding the song, I think it’s brilliant! It feels different and unique, just like how the original series had an opening that felt unique in that time too. Gives the show a strong identity
I cant stop listening to this song!!!! Good anime music makes it great!!! Damn since i was a child this anime had great anime music thank god im seeing it again 🤘🔥🙏
They said that this is bad cause of 3d i m pretty sure, but when i see the previous work of that studio (Orange) i can t see how people can conplain. They are good with 3d and it get better and better
I think this show so far has done a better job with Vash's relationship with Knives than the original anime. I also like that he calls his brother Nai and that's also the note Kvi Baba holds the longest. It shows a more melancholic side to Vash we never got to see and how Vash still loves him despite the pain and suffering he inflicts upon himself and others.
That`s `cause the show`s a partial prequel to the original mixed with an update going more into Vash and Knives` backstory, what plants are and why some have human forms like Vash and Nai/Knives whilst others don`t. That`s why Meryl is younger and not paired up with Millie yet.
It’s not just that it’s emphasized; I didn’t realize til I looked up the lyrics (thanks auditory processing issues + Japanese’s lack of stressed syllables), but the negative non-past tense suffix “nai” ends nearly every other damn line.
i love hearing people who dont understand animation talk like they do, complaining 3D = cheap and bad, shouldve been 2D etc. while yes sometimes it is for cost reduction (i dont think most people know how production works, and the advantages/disadvantages of 2d or 3d), there are times where going 3D over 2D is a design choice. being 3D doesnt automatically make it cheaper, and being 2D doesnt automatically make it more expensive. but whatever, keep hating anime 3D if it lets you sleep at night.
As a big fan of the original, I was a little worried about where this series was headed after episode two, but now that I've seen episode 3, I'm pretty much sold on it. I really like the different direction they are taking with certain aspects of the story while still seeming to preserve a lot of the things that made the original what it is. Also, this intro is incredible.

Fav OP of the season without a doubt
This song just slaps so hard and forever still. I hope they never change it. If they do, it better be just as groovy and epic
the song very catchy
old and new versions are bangers equally
Trigun was part of a lot of people's childhood, whether you like the new series or not, we can all agree that this op is sick!
The song is horrendous. Sounds like garbage Latino hip hop. The visuals are nice I guess
I appreciate that they did not try to "replace" the old series with this new one.
this anime was so beutiful i need the second season now!!! this opening its so beautiful!
I won’t lie, I started this as soon as I finished the initial series and the 2010 movie. I hated the first episode and thought this was going to be another berserk-3D like terrible adaptation. But two episodes later I realized just how wrong I was. If you haven’t watched past the first episode- GIVE THIS SHOW A CHANCE!
This series is kinda goated...best anime of 2023 so far?
Oh I just loved everything about this. I'm in love 💗💗💗
