I'm glad someone takes the time to perform a start to finish process with Johan's recommendations. Helpful for others. I agree that we should treat the C++ Runtimes as part of the OS. Regenerating the boot image from scratch usually fixes that issue. I have had to do this since 2013 sometimes.
35:00 around this mark you were talking bout boot images and full reboots. you have to keep in mind mdt and wds are separate applications which dont talk well to eachother. when a new boot image is generated it does automatically move to WDS to be the litetouchpe thats bootstrapped. so theres 1 extra step there to reimport the updated boot image to WDS thats not at all intuitive :-D
Yeah, you said it right. If you're updating Bootstrap or Custom Settings then you need to replace the litetouch wims because it pulls those into the litetouch. Anything outside of there is just an update deployment share.
Hello, Bernardo. I have enjoyed your videos and they have been very helpful. When I created my first Media I got an error pertaining to Invalid Top Level folder. Do you have a video concerning that?
The Powerpoint you said you were going to attach is a PDF in notes format. The images are unreadable when I blow it up. Can you please provide the full Powerpoint?
@BTNHD Awesome video thanks!! You mention that you can customize shortcuts, wallpaper, etc. through Task Sequence. How? Are there any tutorials on this?
Honestly... I see no issue with still using WDS, then PDQ to push the applications. I DO have a "Golden image" which I update with every new windows release (1803, 1809, 1903,1909). I also finally got MDT to start working. However, I'm not seeing how this is better than WDS + PDQ. I can already re-image a computer to 1909 in 12mins using WDS, then another 30mins for PDQ to push applications. I have not figured out how to capture a reference image yet due to it looking like too much work, but I can't imagine it being so much better than my current process. I'm not looking for a debate/fight, I'm hoping for one of you to change my mind. PLZ
Side note too, I think it was you that did one ages ago. Can you run this workflow so that it pauses inside the build and drops a shortcut to continue once you install some apps? I'm sure it was you that did it, but don't recall which episode. (yes I am trying to get rid of this style where I work but I do have one small use case where I want to make a smaller reference one)..
Hi , thanks for sharing the news , i'm looking for documentation on changes needed on Active Directory for new OU;s and GPOs for a migration project from Windows 7 to win10 1803 , with office 365 thenmoving to V1903
i want ask something.. i'm deploy win 10 using mdt .. but after success deploying on client computer.. its set username as "Administator" also on folder Users .. I trying using wmic but it only change username n the users folders still "administrator" how to change it
you need to contact network admin to open the ports within the switches to allow office 365 to be download or download the Office Deployment Tool and create an offline package
@@jamesmorris1134 I noticed the names of the visual basic exe for 2017 in the script we're very different than the names of the exe BTHD uploaded. Also near the end of the script one of the if statements had a typo 20017 instead of 2017. I fixed it and it works like a charm.
Hey Anthony, same thing happened to me, I went back through everything, and realized I had a typo in the name for the config-disablewindowsstoreupdates.wsf, just a suggestion you may want to check the smsts.log and see if it can see the file in the Scripts folder. On the PXE screen hit F8 to get the prompt.
@@rinkleswhiskers15 I found that you need to use Enterprise edition because the script to disable or re-enable Windows Store, won't work on licenses on Home or Pro.
Can I use/run the MDT on Windows 10 Pro instead of Windows Server ? I actually am asking this bcuz most of the tutorials i found on MDT r using windows server OS.
I was able to use MDT on my win10pro laptop back when I was working for my last tech company doing tests, the reason to use win server is when your also running the WDS server role you can quickly Automate deployment after capture across your whole domain of you want
BTNHD .. quick question.. any idea why my image TS basically stops during the capture/sysprep step ? the VM shuts down right before that step and doesn't start up again :?
Dont Work for me,I follow step by step a excepcion i created a media (litetouch.iso) next i created virtual machine with virtual box. send error i have screenshot, where send you this screenshot
windows 10 1607 LTSB does not support NVIDIA RTX drivers\videoadapters --- what a hell&!? LTSC - yes, RTX supports. buuut why...nvidia! YEs, LTSB\C - best build of windows 10 for work

Thank you for your support and leaving a comment.

I think 2018 was my last year build an reference/thin/thick image. All modular OSD for now on.
The Most Useful Video about MDT
I've tried the third option, which is pretty handy, especially if you like to use WDS.
THX a LOT!
You're welcome!🤓

when you are deploying an OS how do you choose which task sequence it gets? When you boot the machine do you get a list to select from?
It's Yo-Hahn. Took a Windows 10 Deployment class with him in June.
Thanks for the name correction. How was the class?
Question, where do you explain the settings of your custom.ini file and what we can manipulate?
Hey BT Is possible to have MDT and SCCM on the server, in regard of boot the image with WDS enables..Any suggestion.

You can add a Suspend so you can be able to install any additional programs or configurations to the image.
You are very good teacher. Thanks

what do you do for offline office 365 installations? cloud is a an issue for our highly secure env.
you need to contact network admin to open the ports within the switches to allow office 365 to be download or download the Office Deployment Tool and create an offline package
I finally figured out what was wrong with my visual C++. Got it working. I also automated 12 apps along with it all. No more golden image for me

It was really just an amateur oversight be on my part.
Thanks for the heads up. Those scripts are the ones I got from deployment research site. Thank you for update.
Didn't work for me. It fails when it gets to the Disable Windows Store Updates script.
Any advice?I followed the video to the letter.

When did you stop liking Capture? I just watched your 2013 MDT vid and that was all about capture.
Only did it because you guys always request it. 😁
