We subscribed to the TV Guide by mail, so my brothers and I always mapped out what we were going to watch every week...especially at Christmas time! We would scour the pages to see when our favorite Christmas movies would be on! Judging by some of the clues, it looks like this publication was in the Mobile, AL area? I hope your New Year is off to a good start, Liz. If I could, I'd love to request more videos with handwriting in them? I've watched your math problem videos several times each! I can remember thumbing through the tv guide my dad had as well, looking to see when my shows or good movies would come on. I had forgotten about some of these classic shows. And I will definitely do more study sessions and writing videos. Those are some of my favorites to do 😊 I've also got some others planned and my goal is to post more frequently too. OMG, my grandma worked at a Tip Top when she was in her twenties, IIRC. (From stories, obviously, as I wasn't around yet.) AFAIK it was out of business by the time I was old enough to understand stories about it. Also, it's sometimes hard to remember that cigarettes used to be EVERYwhere, pizza places, bowling alleys, McDonald's; I even remember how weird it was to have Non-Smoking sections of restaurants at first.
Oh how interesting. I grew up in the south and don't remember seeing them anywhere so I don't know if they were in my hometown. And yeah, cigarettes were everywhere. People could smoke in hospital waiting rooms, on planes, etc. You were almost considered a "goody two-shoes" if you didn't smoke, lol. Crazy how things have changed.
