I was recently on John Heart’s HIT bodybuilding channel and he was talking about needing heavier weights to put on muscle. I cited you as an example of another expert who also says the same thing. Got to lift heavier if you want the size!
Evergotdamndre is similar to you in a way, you should do a video on him. Very mobility focused with the kettlebells i know you have heard of him would love to hear your thoughts though
I'm just getting back in the gym the last month and doing double kettlebells with 30lbs for me (seated presses) was pretty hard. I can only get about 7 reps.
Since I'm older I never lift more than my bodyweight. For me that's double 40's (jerk and not a press!) but when I do press 24's and 32's occasionally the rotation does screw up my screw on my left side if I don't crush the grip. I'll try this out
@@DiscerningOtter bro, you need to go to 32kg right now. I spent years working on the 24 thinking that I'd progress once I was ready. Guess what? I was never ready. I just went to the 32kg and it was uncomfortable. 32kg is a third to half of your body weight. It always feels heavy...because it is. Get a 32 and start deadlifting and squatting with it. Then, with some experience and confidence, clean it. After you are confident in the clean, then you can push the clean to a jerk or a snatch. once you just go for the 32, it changes everything. It is very transformative in terms of muscle and endurance and confidence.
I love your reaction to your son! its my exact reaction to my son lol! But my reaction to your son because its not me in the moment is laughing my butt off lol!
@@kettlebellmusclegain Thanks! Means a lot coming from you! I was a competitive powerlifter and U105kg strongman for 21 years. That gave me the base strength.
since a kg is 2.2 lbs (at least it is in UK pounds, is the US pound different the same way US pints and Gallons are different from UK Imperial?) 2*48s is 105+ lbs
@@kettlebellmusclegain Same. It’s a wake up when my best barbell strict press was 120 and push press 150kg. I struggle with double 48 clean and press. (These weights were when I was flat out competing, not now.

Yes. He's good. Nice dude too. but also does LOADS of barbells still so his is not a body based on KB only
How’s your shoulder health after the dislocation?
My shoulders are fine. Always focus on mobility and smooth range of motion

They're tough as the body can't help

I meant that it screws up my press.
I have never had a problem with internal rotation at the top, but then again I don’t go heavier than 24kg at the moment. I guess I may find out.

The most I have achieved is a 64kg bell
Clean and push press, no jerk.
That's crazy strong!

@lewiselliott9038 wow yeah I bet
@lewiselliott9038 do you think these tips help for someone needing to lift a KB over 85kg?
@@kettlebellmusclegain If you can clean and press a 85kg bell, you don’t need help imo 😂
Whose were the ghostly hands?

Yeah 48 kg is 106 lbs each. So most I've ever got overhead is 96 with kettlebells 48kg in each arm.

It's ONLY 106 pounds 🤣🤣🤣
They may need near 80% more 🫠
