As an oldschool D2 player from back in 2000 I can tell you getting Shako is so incredibly lucky. I remember doing NM Meph runs over and over for days and weeks and not getting Shako. It's the best MF helm in the game.
Just as a tip on why MF is good: MF does not scale the same in providing increased chance for magic, rare and uniques. The diminishing return for magic and rare is harsher, which means that the higher MF you get, the higher the relative chance of getting unique you get. This means that if you want to farm for uniques and set items, you want as much MF as you can reasonably get. It isn't unusual to farm with 500~ MF if your goal is to find the really rare uniques. At that MF, you will often see anywhere between 1-3 uniques from Meph every run. Also note that for farming hard bosses, you can actually do a weapon swap: wear a set of MF weapons, and another set of normal damage weapons. Use your normal weapons for the damage, and switch to MF set to land killing blow. You can actually also give your merc MF gear and have him land the killing blow, which will add his MF on top of all yours. These optimization really do work in minimizing the magic find grind, and get you ahead on getting the best gear you want because you can trade all your found gear for currency for runes and jewels.
@@Helikaeon you can Argue with some, for SSF without decent gear and "skill" its not worth getting over 100-200MF, this dubles to tripple the drops of Rare/Set/Uniqes yes its true 500 is better, BUT you still need to kill and not die. and Guzu will Die when he fokuses on MF. The Mission of this playthough is killing Baal, not getting Grail :)
I LOVE these videos. I've been a blizzard game player most of my life, and seeing you dig into diablo 2 has been a treat. Just know, diablo 2 loot is designed for long term goals and grinds, so don't get frustrated on not seeing what you want. Just enjoy the farming and see what interesting stuff drops
Shako is a semi-rare item. It is not "insanely rare" but definitely rare to find on a play through. More than it being rare it is known for its great stats with only few helmets in the game being better.
Just keep gathering armors to sell. Some of the higher normal armors also sell for quite a bit, but exceptional and elite armors are for sure 35k Any item with ability to roll class-specific skills as well is good gold
You can use a Tp Scroll and a Hel rune in Cube with a socketed item (shako) to remove the inserted sockets! It will be empty again but the gem/rune inside will be destroyed!

Yeah sorc builds are insane, 50% of players always roll sorc first until they can get Enigma for TP it's so powerful. With even 72% FCR and a merc with Trechery weapon you can basically chain TP around the map nonstop and be almost unhittable while doing it, with 105% FCR breakpoint you can basically not be touched while TPing.
I can't wait for you to actually start noticing the little things that make this thing great. hit the nail on the head when you said this is gambling lol

@@Metaljacket420 This!I repeat it everywhere haha,this ladder in the span of 3 days i had 2x Jah drops,1x Lo,Gul from Hellforge and a Pul from Superchest it was such a lucky slotmachine like jackpot i havent had this luck since 2017 LoD where i got my very first Ber drop and my very first Jah the next day only to get another Ber week later. Im kinda sad ladder is so bad it practically ends in 3-4 days cause of the robots flooding the market in general but its a big dopamine rush i wonder if people that have a real gambling addiction feel the same way(probably).
@@kuniaxt why are implying you cant mf with java? Sunder and infinity it is one of the best terror zone chars in the game. Also the best boss killer so yeah shako, enigma, mf charms makes it a great mf char.
Run norm and NM andy for rings/shako. NM Baal for everything else other than end game lvl 85+ gear. Everything you will wear can drop from those two bosses. Other than like high runes.
He found shocko by shocking all the monsters and while shaking free of them. kind of like when i got the stone ring of jordan from the stone rings(raki) b4 tristram. In d3 i found a primal squirts when i was sipping from a juice box. it was purple juice and arcane. AI has an interesting decision making process now doesnt it, real life included. i'd imagine shayko or shaking up monsters could be another determinant in lieu of shocking them. hint hint? My favorite was when chaos sanctuary dropped them LO LO's in the corners for my girl.

The "Sol" Rune is also realy gud to Shako, but Resist´s with "Ort" or "Ral" might be better, while you´r not 60+ on Res

You should farm terror zones and find sunder charm. That will allow you to kill lightning immunes
And also on single player you can manipulate what zone is terrorised
