    You get to put days into your videos, hours and hours into 3d printing and paint, AND you get to play OPR. You are kind of my hero. You are the goat.

    I don't know what the ground scale is in OPR but in Chain of Command the ground scale is 12" = 40 yards which is pretty much the perfect ground scale if you use 15mm miniatures

    OPR already announced 10mm game coming out later this year. Alien Hive being one of the 2 armies for Grim Dark Future. 10 mm Saurians and Mummified Undead for Age of Fantasy.

It is something that has been rattling around in my mind for the last year, and I am really interested in how someone else approaches this. Someone has to do it first snd looks like you are the proverbial guinea pig. I am rooting for you!

    Ive been making 15mm for about 2 years now. You can fit a lot of armies in a small space at 15mm. Kids love them.
    You picked 2 of the better armies for this. SSH and Battle Sisters are a nightmare. Tiny fidly legs and arms of the SSH and the BS weapons/backpacks and the skirt bits are just so small its hard to get them to come out right.
    Ive also started to base them in the slicer. Using Lychee you can take a base and combine it with the model and then export it as a new stl. They are small enough that its not a ton of resin. Ive also found that using the OPR presupports can be pretty hit or miss. Glad they worked out so well for you. Love the idea of the cake box bases. Keep up the good work!

    So i absolutely love this. I appreciate the work you are putting in. Ive been working on a hex board that allows for quick terrain change and can work for sci fi or fantasy. Full scale size is great but takes a ton of space.
    Ima get my hex board done to a 3x2 ft board, Make a couple 10mm armies and join you in your crusade kind sir.
    10 mm is faster to paint with some decent room for creativity. I love your channel

    My OPR game club here in Oklahoma City plays 15mm OPR with OPR and forest dragon minis all the time. A lot of 10mm and epic scale minis blow up really well to 15mm. We don't multi-base but it looks fun too. Big thing is all your ranges are half. And your armies start 12 inches apart.

    Ive watched some of your other snall milimeter games and they were just as enjoyable as any of your other battle reports. Pretty sweet you can get your models to another scale without losing anything.
    My opinion regardless ngthe battle report is that i missed the play by play narration you usually do. It helps to tie the onscreen action and effects together as well as it means i can look away (to paint my models!) and not miss out on the action. Honestly, your battle reports with static pictures, no dice, narrated action, and some sounds and effects are my favorite to warch, more than the traditional "watch the guys play the game and see the dice roll."

    • @WarbossFitz
      @WarbossFitz  8 месяцев назад +1

      It got lost in the sauce here. Looking at what would be best, I am going to break down armies into detachments on the table and activate all of them at once. That way an activation is more substantial. The activations aren't jumping from flank to flank

    Lots of hard work into this one! I missed hearing your normal commentary for the attacks, I think it is a little more fun to watch with your narration vs the voices. I like the commentary on crazy rolls etc. It was fun seeing a larger battle report! Great work! I am excited to follow a larger campaign.

    • @WarbossFitz
      @WarbossFitz  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah editing it was a bit weird too. For the campaign I am working out a detachment system so multiple units under a hero will activate at a time. So if we have an army with 50 units, it will be 10-15 activations instead of 50. And so I can put more flavor into the descriptions instead of "spearmen march forward" 20 times.

    If you really wanna go easy on your math and mission, r duce everything by 40% - which means round about 12 mm and use the metric system. 12 inches got 12 cm. A 6x4 board gets 72x42 cm. All stats stay the same. Just in another scale.

  • @ericdavis4964
    @ericdavis4964 8 месяцев назад +1

    I think this style of battle report works very well for the larger points and the smaller scale. It was easy to follow and see what each unit did.

    • @ericdavis4964
      @ericdavis4964 8 месяцев назад

      With the larger points value, how was game play time wise? Was it about the same or did it take longer to play? I would love to do huge Sci fi armies in a smaller scale, but I am concerned over how long it would take to play them before I invest time and resources into going down that path 26:47

    • @WarbossFitz
      @WarbossFitz  8 месяцев назад +1

      Gameplay wasn't bad. It was about as long as a regular 1500 point game. The multibasing helps with that. Ask me again when we break the 10,000 point barrier

  • @WarpstormChronicles
    @WarpstormChronicles 8 месяцев назад

    Cool. I'm looking forward to seeing your games of these.
    I straight up used Warmaster models on their warmaster bases for mini scale fantasy. for sci-fi I ended up sticking them onto coins.

  • @benjamineisenhofer8174
    @benjamineisenhofer8174 8 месяцев назад +1

    The 15 mm scale looks awesome! I would have gon with single bases, but now I've seen your approach I reconsider. =)
    I started collecting 1/72 minis which are totally awesome for medieval and fantasy games. I base them on coins and put them on bases with magnetic tape on it. I do 3x2, 4x2, and 5x2 bases respectively, which I then can combine on the table to phalanx, cohort, what have you.
    Let's keep DIYing the hell out of the hobby! :D
