  • Unique individual driven by passion, created a miracle. Learn how Armstrong Pame crowd funded a 100 kilometre road through the hilly terrains of Manipur. India’s very own Miracle Man takes us on a journey with him to feel the culture of the beautiful north eastern parts of India. The young IAS officer from Manipur, who took everyone by surprise when he took the proverbial “road less travelled” triumphing over hardships, bureaucracy, and distrust. In the end it was a victory of ethics, values and trust, which he feels should be in the DNA of all our youth, for a brighter India!
He is the first Indian Administrative Officer from the Zeme tribe of Manipur and the loud call out for India to look a bit upwards to the North-eastern region. The man who changed how every individual looked at Social Media, Pame carefully organised a blow to the government and easily connected his district, Tousem to the rest of the country by building a 100 km long road. Raising funds through social media and building ‘The People’s Road’ without any government help is his biggest achievement and one of India’s eye-openers. A brain storming, intellectual activist like Pame can run a tide of inspiration through the country’s youth and expect and higher wave of goodwill in return.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

the talk revolves around the following:1. describe northeast and its people in a nutshell and our desire to be treated with equal respect and ends racial discrimination irrespective of our looks and our faith in democracy, liberty and freedom
    2. why seeing a problem and complaining will not solve any of our issues..rather doing a bit of whatever we can will surely bring some solution..and that exactly what promoted me to start the people's road project..3. why i am positive about our country and which i believe everyoen esp. the youths have a tremendous role to shape our future..

I am from NE too, my observation is the way it has been peddled in the media that Racism is rampant, i actually don't buy that...i think it is not institutionalised....i think there are morons in the mainland who have no idea of their neighbour, let aside North East and these are the people who shows racism...generally people are receptive...its not a mass problem. on the other hand, no one is talking about racism in NE towards plains people,,,do you agree?

armpame You're the perfect inspiration sir! The kind of work u have done in Manipur is amazing!!
Many think clearing the CSE is success. But that's only a small part of it! The real success is when u enter the service and utilize your power to make a difference. That's what u have done!!
Lots and lots of respect from a fellow NE resident (Assam).
I hope I can soon follow in your footsteps and taste success in the exam and meet u in person to take some inspiration!!
PS. I also think ur initiative to motivate school kids by calling them to ur residence is so inspiring! The kids are lucky :)

So here in a 2020 midnight when my mind relentlessly searched for an answer 'How civil servants can have an impact?' in true senses. I landed up here. I have known the story ofcourse. But beautiful stories never fail to mesmerise no matter how many times it comes. Thank you for giving me a peaceful and really working answer.
Be always this inspiration for us Sir!

Elected members from Manipur like Sangma and Thokchom Meinya are in Indian Parliament. Central Government gives Crores of Rupees for the Manipur state. Where does the money go? Why people have to raise money for building streets? I know about state of Maharashtra- 330 Crores of Rupees assigned by Central government for development of public transportation and water management was never used. Reason was the state government need to create a plan with details and submit for review by Central Govt. expert. The Ministers from Maharashtra state never created a plan and never claimed the money! Lazy elected members!! I guess same happened in Manipur!
