Absolutely, but I would recommend a separate one just for freezer using a waterproof fabric so the cotton doesn't end up wet. You can use laminated cotton, clear vinyl or PUL. We did do a separate video here for that: ruclips.net/video/xH5HUkfvw5s/видео.html. After using several different ones- I like the PUL the best, but remember any of the waterproof cannot be microwaved.
Great instructions - but did I miss something? My muslin (inner) bag came out about 5/8 larger than the outer bag. Of course I haven't stuffed it yet . . . can't wait to buy enough rice and use it on my cold tootsies in the evenings!
You can put it in the freezer and the rice stays cold for awhile. We did a separate video where you can laminate your cotton fabric for the cold packs: studio.ruclips.net/user/videoxH5HUkfvw5s/edit
Did you see the small cold compress ones? ruclips.net/video/xH5HUkfvw5s/видео.html This can be made in so many sizes by changing your initial dimensions. I would do a tester until you get it the size you want. If you want to do the cover with separated insert- try cutting 7" x 30" for your cover piece and 7" x 26" for your insert piece. Follow the instructions as for the other dimension. Hope this helps!
It is recommended to use 100% cotton fabric, no metallics or glitter since it will be going in the microwave. Quilt weight cottons work great for this project!
Hi! I always find it difficult pricing something I make, which I guess is why they are usually made as gifts-lol. Just make sure to calculate your cost of all materials, the time it took to make it, figured at a fair hourly wage, and any fees associated with the platform you are using to sell. I would consider having a price for the rice bag & cover and a price for additional covers as replacement or for switching out. I have seen the set anywhere from $18-$35. Hope this helps!
Heat for no more than 2 minutes at a time. I typically just put the inner rice part in the microwave, not the cover. Make sure you are only using 100% cotton fabric and thread. It works great for cramps!
Very nice tutorial. Easy to understand
Thank you for watching!
Thank you!! Very nice and very helpful!!
Glad it was helpful!
Great Presents for friends. Thanks Sara.
You are so welcome!
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Can you put these in the freezer for cold packs to?

Are there other alternates for the rice?
You can also try whole dried corn (like feed corn), flaxseed, or walnut shells.

Hi! You did nothing wrong! The inner bag will be slightly bigger so it completely fills out the outer bag. :) Enjoy it!
How do you use it as a cold pack

Love the video! Just curious, would you know roughly how many cups of rice ? instead of measuring 1/3 of the material.
Sorry for the delay, I had to make another one and measure it out :) 9 cups of rice
How can I make this smaller

Thank you so much for your reply! I will definitely follow your suggested size & instructions 😊
What fabrics can you use for the cover?

I just made this for my co-worker who turned 50. I am sure it will help her with all those aches and ouchies. I am talking from experience 🤪
Hello, I am beginner and looking to make these for sale. What would you consider a good price to sell this for? Thank you
