Hornet Update: Introduction to JDAM, LTWS and More

  • PLANNED FOR 27 MARCH 2019
    1- Update to IFF and D/L identification system
    2- LTWS
    3- JDAM
    Next week we plan (not promise) a new Hornet Open Beta update that includes changes to the IFF/datalink identification system and introduction to Latent Track While Scan (LTWS) and the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM). JDAM in particularly is still very much work in progress with large elements to still add. This video is provided to provide you an initial understanding of these systems.
    Please also note that the A/A radar is an iterative process from which LTWS will be built upon to create the Track While Scan (TWS) mode and the Azimuth / Elevation (AZ/EL) modes.
    Once the AZ/EL page is created, then the various automatic IFF modes will be implemented.
    Before you ask… the targeting pod will come after the HARM is complete.
    Thanks, and have fun!

  • @robbown164
    @robbown164 5 лет назад

    I am assuming for TOO mode, just like PP mode, you will need an accurate waypoint created down the exact lat/long anyway? In which case, when it comes to multiplayer servers, whats the difference between setting it as a waypoint initially while aligning on the ground vs hammering it in when you find it? It does require quite a lot of F10 mapping to get the lat/longs for these things.
    Great to see the module coming together, the F18 and F14 are fantastic additions to the game and really give a feel of a complete module.
    My only real complaint is spotting other aircraft and how difficult it is, but that's not really for this video.

      Abhiraj singh, although I’m not exactly sure, I think it stands for:
      None Cooperative Target Recognition
      I think it uses your own radar returns from the target’s engine compressor blades to id it.
      Therefore your radar needs to be able to look into the target’s intake duct to ‘see’ the compressor blades, so he needs to fly towards you.
      It will not work if the target’s range is too high though.
