Fantastic video, Peter! Love it :-) Thanks for taking the time to put this together and share with us. Always looking forward to your new videos! All best /Walter.
As a jazz guitarist who uses nylon and semi hollow I always have this dilemma which guitar to use, the twin Neck is an elegant solution. I also use looper and a synth pedal. I always find I can get into a flow state with my jazzer but I prefer the sound of my nylon when recording great vid and an amazing player
I had the pleasure of meeting you back in the early Del Mar days , i was a friend of Terry's . You were digging into a Es-335 as i recall and we discussed D modal turning . Like so many have enjoyed listening to your music thru the years ,,,now i know whats behind the curtain thanks so much .
How nice Greg and thanks for checking this out. I remember that ES-335. I left it in the car one night and it got stolen. Urgghhh! And yep, D modal tuning, can't go wrong with that! stay well amigo, P
Thanks for sharing Peter, this was really fun. Just playing the guitar and trying to play well seems like such a huge goal, but adding all that technology seems both overwhelming but also really joyful. I've been thinking about experimenting with a looper with my nylon string guitar and you have inspired me now.
Hey John, thanks for checking it out and YES, I think first get the guitar playing together and then slowing dive in with the gear. It's so fun! all best, P
i loved seeing all that and listening...thanks for sharing....i really want to get a synth pickup and start experimenting with my looper.....yes, you've inspired me again...
Hi peter, Great gear, saw your performing with Aubrey Johnson Play "August" Amazing loving it! I play 2 got a godin multi ac jazz steel strings and i still use the Gr1 from Roland. wanted to tell you that, i've used in the past the ME10 of rolland and i could connect it with the Gr1 thrugh Midi and in that way could switch effects on the guitar and use the patch and banks on the gr1. nows days i am using Gitar Rig as an effect box. Hope you are well and keep making nice music! All the best Rony Dvir Amsterdam
Hey Rony, thanks for watching and it sounds like you've got a bunch of great gear too. Super fun to twiddle knobs and dials! Keep it going amigo, Peter
Thanks Peter. This was a lot of fun. My Sand guitar is MIDI, and it is challenging to keep the acoustic nature of the instrument from interfering with the MIDI attacks. I starting to think the best possible MIDI guitar controller is a solid body electric with hardly any natural acoustic sound of its own.
You're right Alan, more stable guitar, more stable midi. It's a fleeting thing at best but the RMC pickups seem like some of the most able midi pickups. I love the blend of guitar and synth! Colors!
And I thought I was hot stuff getting my old Roland Guitar to control my keyboard! But the equipment wouldn't be nearly as impressive if the playing wasn't so GOOD.
When you switch to jazz ( piezo ) pickup How can you get that very warm sounds ? Do you use same piezo for nylon like the top guitar, or the steel piezo ? Or are you already put some EQ already ?
Hi Renda! Thanks for the listen and when I switch to the jazz pickup I use mostly the hum bucker for the fat tone and just add a little of the piezo pickup for a bright attack. If I used all piezo pick up on the steel string neck it'd sound like a folk acoustic guitar. Both necks use the RMC pickups and they have different models for the nylon neck versus the steel string neck. Thanks and hope this helps, Peter
Thanks Zach and yeah, Yuris is the man. I have two guitars by him but it was a big deal getting them completed. It took forever! I think he's moving to Spain too and we'll sure miss his genius with tools, the wood, and the discussion. all best, P
Glad I found this video..I keep asking about your guitars at the live show. One question: When you come out of your RC 300 do you just go into the IN of a channel?
Hey Andre, thanks for tuning in and man, loved your track that you sent to Peter Rahill. What a sound and touch and feel! The way I hook up the looper is: guitar into GT7 preamp out to mixer, then aux send out of mixer to RC 300 input, then RC 300 out stereo to 2 channels input at the mixer. hope this helps, best, Peter
@@PeterSpragueMusic Cool thank you. Yeah the track I sent was just improvised on the spot somehow he want to put lyrics to it, it will be interesting to see/hear, I have no idea I am not a songwriter...see you next time.
I have a 1966 Yuris Zeltins. I'm trying to figure out where I can have it restored now thar he's retired. it's got a few cracks in the face. neglected by the previous owner unfortunately.
Hi Peter, do you use a powered speaker situation or guitar amp. Looks like a powered speaker in the video with Pete Bernstein and your tone was just stellar. I love your vibe! Thank You 🙏
I must admit this is the first day I have heard you play but it is great stuff going on here Peter. I will look further into your website when I have some time. So I must ask a few questions, first, what are the gauges and manufactures of strings you are using? Second, what is the speaker or output system you are running the gear through to produce the outward sound?
Hi Steve, thanks on this and I use D'dario strings. Classical set and not sure of the model number. For speakers I use the QSC K10's. I love them and would highly recommend them...thanks, Peter
Hi Telmo, here is the stand and sorry, I had the name wrong. It's called A frame: www.amazon.com/dp/0786615206/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me= all best, Peter

How cool you have a Yuris guitar. Any chance you can take a picture of it? I don't know who could restore it. Maybe there's someone in LA...
