He made a mistake when he wrote delta T at the grashof number. It's supposed to be the difference between the wall and the air, so it'd be (T_w - T_infinity) or 100-40 =60 degrees C
If temperature of wall is same everywhere whether at y=0....or any other and temperature of fluid is also same....then how can the temperature difference vary from bottom to top.....can anyone explain this to me please
In first lecture of heat transfer he said convection is heat transfer by macroscopic motion of fluid and conduction of fluids. Now he is saying in natural convection there is no bulk flow of fluid. Then how it is different than conduction
There Is A difference between both i guess. Its Not bulk motion means particles are stagnant but Molecules transfer heat atom wise or something. There are two type in it too.
@@abhishekpandey5967 yes I get it but but heat transfer by motion of molecules is conduction and by microscopic motion of fluid is called convection as told in first class by professor. Then what is difference between natural convection and conduction in fluids
@@vridhikhanna1580 in conduction , molecular motion is absent , in forced convection , bulk velocity is imposed on the natural flow of molecules due to heat transfer ..
@@craniumkracked8189 in his first lecture itself he is telling conduction is by motion of molecules. In non metals heat transfer take place by lattice vibration only, which is a kind of SHM.

Thanks Sir, very well understood the natural convection and those importance of Radiation too in it
The video lecture given by Prof. U.N. Gaitonde is very nice
good lecture
Great video...helped me a lot. Thank you sir.
Hey it's been a decade. What are you doing now ?
He made a mistake when he wrote delta T at the grashof number. It's supposed to be the difference between the wall and the air, so it'd be (T_w - T_infinity) or 100-40 =60 degrees C
Yeah. But he later corrected it with the correct Grashoff number taking delta T=60 deg C.
Where can I find properties that are found at the mean temperature ?
data handbook
Sir delta T should be 40 not 60
Sir background noise is very much
Thank you sir😊
Here the delta T should be in Kelvin right? Why took in Celsius?
Doesn't matter
Delta T is same in all units
how the temperature distribution will be in the case of 2 vertical parallel plates!?
I think the same, as the medium is present between them has the same temperature increment as we go by natural convection
Thanks sir

hot fluid near the wall will move upward, and the colder fluid will comes on downside of plate so a temperature profile is generated
Question is interesting and it's been 3 years, so did you find the answer

there is another mistake to finding nusselt no i cant find Nu=71.9
Sir is it 'Assume' or 'Asshume' ?
I donno if you are asking or correcting ...may be we should know our place before commenting about him
it has no effect on our subject.....
