The thing about going faster is the rest of the railway has to be up to the increased speed? Wheel sets have to be balanced and wheel profiled(nothing eccentric), bearings lubricated and set, bogie pivots lubricated and set, no restrictions to vehicle body in motion, couplings free pivoting, correctly weighted vehicles for track geometry, correct track geometry and point work. For model rail, power pick up has to be reliable. If you watch cab views from fast trains the points for high speeds(100 kph+) are very expensive, very long, with elements that close gaps (frog blockers), and the moving parts have multiple position locks. It may be Trix are going slow on purpose.

      Hi Brian,
      Very true information.
The Trix models are very slow compared to the Feischmann ICE models , even if I get the v150 to go 20% faster I would be more than happy.
I will try the French Tgv first if it works I will move on to the other Trix versions..
Thanks for watching and your information.
      👍🏻jim

Haven’t watched the video yet, but PLEASE lmk if you figure this out. I’m very unhappy w the top speed on the many trix TGVs that I have, including the V150. Thx Jim!

No worries I will solve this problem with the help of others.

Looking forward to your fix! I still have my jouef version … I had to change the bogies and gear sets in the powered car, since everything had cracked. Terrible original quality. I too was ready to punt it, but I stuck with it. Runs fab now.

I love the Lint class 41s (BR 648 in Germany)... I always wanted to get a dummy + live version and put them in a 2 or even 3-unit consist. Sadly, Marklin only has a couple sets and they are very expensive to and hard to find. I see you also have the Trix record-breaker TGV. It is weird to hear it runs slow, but I have the same problem with my ICE4... enough so, that I am thinking of sending the motoring unit back and getting it replaced. I wish I knew how to find a better motor and replace it myself.

Yeah the dual motors are wired in a way that limits the full speed running on all my Trix marklin tgvs so I hopefully will rewire so they run much faster like the real train. The Lints class are my favourite dmu model..
      Thanks Anthony..😄👍🏻

The Trix TGV looks great. I have a few TGVs from Mehano - they are cheap and not super detailed but they run well and go pretty fast. I think the Mehanos use the same tooling as the Jouef and Lima TGV versions. Did Trix/Märklin create their TGV tooling themselves?

Yeah the Trix Marklin are very detailed I think the tooling is different...saying that the Jouef La poste train I have is very good..

When you figure out how to get the TGV to run faster, lmk. I have a bunch of Marklin TGVs that have the same problem...

What do you do for a crust bud? Just curious , obviously you don't have to answer. Been watching you for about ten years now I reckon.
