- Greetings All! This is my third video in my series where I use Karen Nyberg's Earth Views fabric. In the previous videos I made the patterns available on her website; in this video I design my own quilt inspired by the planet earth, where I was born and spent most of my life.
Karen Nyberg's Earth Views fabric line can be found here: (these are Amazon affiliate links; I get a small portion of the proceeds; there's no additional cost to you):

I'm kind of obsessed with your quilts!
I don't know about you? I'm here for the quilt, AND the jazz!
What a coincidence! I, too, am from planet Earth!
omg I do that, ‘zone out’ for several minutes at a time LOL My Mom did it, my sisters do it, my kids do it. Drives people bonkers. Oh, and I have also lived here my whole life! Hello lovely neighbor!🖐
This quilt is another example of your fine artistic abilities. Thank you.
I enjoy how experimental you are and how you throw being perfect out the window and replace it with artistic beauty 😊
Such coincidence! I'm from Earth too! What a lovely quilt. The fabric really is amazing, I also love the circles and the quilting, it really pulls everything together.
This is absolutely lovely. Lot of intensive work in shaping the continents and very well done. Thank you for sharing.
This quilt is insane!! I like how you said you are from Earth…just in case one day your video is viewed possibly by “The Guardians of the Galaxy”! Love watching your videos! So damn creative!
I think U should enter 1 or more of your pieces into a Quilt Show!! U r an Inspiration to push our Creativity to extreme!!
Show us a puffy quilt or weighted blanket.
Love this! I think the circles you added really put in a new dimension. You are so creative and you just go for it!!! Thanks Dave!
I love your enthusiasm and how you just go for it! The music is a nice addition.
I've watched all 3 of your videos and you inspired me to buy one of her layer cakes. I do a lot of QAYG quilts so the layer cake will definitely be the back of my Earth View Quilt. Thanks Dave for all your creative genius! 😍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Love your work. Such a talent. You always seem to have just the right fabric in your stash. Almost like a fabric store.
Love your design! Circles added a lot of interesting character to the quilt top.
Fabulous!! You are so very creative. I love watching your process!
Totally appreciate the Earth View fabric and how you've used it. Good job!
just flying over in my spaceship-Take me to your leader!
🤩🙏 thx for another fun ride. The quilt turned out great! 🥰
I'm just finishing a quilt that I'm making for my son. I've been stuck on an idea for my daughter's quilt. I hope you don't mind but I borrowed your thinking cap and it worked. Now I can't wait to get started on it. Thank you so much for posting your inspiring videos. See you next time.
I'm glad it helped !! 😜👨🏻
Hi Dave. Just another great quilt you have put together with these great fabrics! When I finally found some places online that sell this fabric, most of it was sold out and the local shops here did not have it either. I am just hoping they print this fabric line again. I really enjoyed all of the quilts you made with these fabrics. I must add that I have watched lots of NASA videos from space mixed in with your videos and I hope many others do the same as well. Very inspiring indeed. Love your thinking cap. I use frozen pineapple chunks to think over. Cools me down and allows the brain to think clearly. 🌞🧵🌴🪡
Your brain is amazing!
Ok now. You really must enter this quilt into a big(BIG) quilt show where you will become so famous that you can quit your day job! LOVE-it!😹
Wonderful! I’m from earth, too! (I’ve never said - or wrote- that before).
Amazing Dave. I enjoy the variety of techniques you use and the pros and cons you mention as the quilt progresses.
Wow! Love the result.
You inspired me again!
Love your thinking cap - it looks great on you and it serves you well! Great job! So glad you live on our planet Earth❤
This is beautiful… I love watching your videos and seeing your thought process. I may have to get me a thinking hat! Lol
Why I love Dave… 😂he comes from the planet earth, he was born here. 😂
You’re funny and I love watching you create.
The thinking cap is back! Yay! And finally a view of the back! Wahoooo! Worth the wait! So many exclamation points!!! Here are some more for this amazing quilt!!!!!!!! I hope Karen Nyberg gets to see it!!!😍👍🏼💚
Clever.
Wow!
I don't think I have ever seen that technique before for stitch and flip-pliqué. Gorgeous. Altho the parts of the background that got covered were beautiful too. I would have been torn about covering it!
It's Tuesday, time for another fun, creative quilt from Dave. Thanks.
What a wonderful quilt❣️👍 You have a great eye Dave. I love your work. 👍 I hope you have a good week ahead. I look forward to seeing what you come up with and you never disappoint! 👍 Chris
I hope Karen gets to see how you used her fabrics.
Check out Leah Days video on how to 'break" your quilting foot (so it doesn't go up and down). I like when the foot literally rides on the fabric.
And set your machine to "needle down" when you stop, so it doesn't move when you stop and arrange your fabric.
I already have it set on needle down 😉
This is awesome
Stunning 😍
Hi Dave,
It's always such a treat to watch your latest video. I look forward to them with joy and you never fail to deliver a beautiful quilt and entertaining process. Your quilt is beyond stunning even before you put the continents on it. You are so gifted!
Thanks again for sharing,
J
Great design 😊😊😊
Another great quilt! Love the blue pieced background. Can't wait for the next one!
STUNNING......Yes, you are and the quilts too! Hope you get to visit the planet of your choice soon. Any particular planet in mind?
I've heard the planet Glamtron is beautiful in Spring 😜👨🏻
@Dave's Craft Room take plenty of sun screen and make sure to send a postcard!
@@davescraftroom say hi to Alaska for me
Super beautiful and creative! I love the quilt and I love the fabric. I love it all!🌎
As always, stunned by your creativity.
Dave I echo everything everyone else says. Oh BTW I was born on planet too. 😂
Hi Dave
Awesome, Dave! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Sjajno,
This quilt has me ✨bathed in his blood✨
Does it give you a chemical burn from the spiral perm ? 😂
@@davescraftroom I will not Jodie Foster this kind of quilt behavior
Dave .... query ..... do you spray fabric with Windex or is it a recycled Windex bottle containing water?
lol it's the empty windex bottle refilled with water :P it was after I moved and I was sewing one night, I had been using the steam feature on my iron because I didn't have a spray bottle but the iron steam wasn't cuttin' it... too late at night to go out and buy a spray bottle, I found the windex in my house almost empty so I cleaned it out and filled it with water. It works as good as any spray bottle I could buy so it just stuck ! 😜
Necessity is the mother of invention….well….. improvisation?💁♀️
Hi Dave can you till me what your iron ing mat is made of thank you for all your videos
Alway look forward to your videos. Where in Pa are you from? I am also from just outside Pittsburgh,Pa.
I'm originally from Chambersburg, I went to college at IUP
Btw there was a LOT (little jelly) of that fabric in the beginning, how much is left by now? Might we see an unexpected *gasp* FOURTH design?😮
A lot of work on your background then covered it with map, love it but maybe on a plainer background so you can see it better. Well done 😊
Extraordinary! ✂️🧵🪡 wow!
Ok, I have to ask how do you finish quilts so often? Yours are so complicated and artistic it's not like you're just slapping squares together and calling it good.
I make labor intensive quilts as well and I wonder if you have any advice on completing them without burning out and loosing interest?
I think it's because I don't have a lot of job satisfaction at my work, quilting is my escape from that and my chance to get that feeling of a job well done,I don't like having loads of UFOs around so I generally only have a small number of projects ongoing and I try to finish one before starting another one. I really love the satisfaction of finishing a project and saying DONE! so I look forward to that feeling of accomplishment and that motivates me to finish. It also helps that I don't have much else going on in my life😅 single/no kids, so I don't have many obligations outside work :P
@Dave's Craft Room
Understandable, I think I normally have way too much going on. Very time demanding job. And the bad habit of being a crafter and an artist. So I don't just have quilts to finish there's paintings and sculptures, crochet projects and drawings.
I seem to get a quilt top done then loose interest. I'll have to try and look at it like more like you do and look forward to the completion and a job well done feeling.
😲
Is it just water in your Windex bottle, or starch?
it's tap water 😜👨🏻
Where's Iceland?
it's just a rendering 😉
