I live in the suburbs with a small yard, big gardens aren’t an option. But I did make an awesome batch of strawberry jams from frozen strawberries (the huge bag from Costco). So many options available for those who can’t or don’t have the space for big gardens 😊
Same. Live in suburbs of Florida. My husband loves his St. Augustine grass and white vynl fence. I did however get some pavers and put vertical gardens (Green Stalks) here and there. I have ammased over a years worth of many herbs. I have grown carrots and canned them, tomatoes in grow bags on a paver, peppers, one watermelon this year, bush green beans. I wish I had room for raised beds but I thought if i can spread out someone has got to have a garden that will go vertical. Just one Green Stalk can grow so much and in Florida only June, July and August are super hot and that is my “winter”.
I always love a good pantry tour! Okay, I am going to have to try the roasted, freeze dried beets. I would love to surprise my mother with a jar of those! She loves beets. And, herbs! Oh, my!! Great job, Jessica! God bless you all!
Don't worry about the empty jars as it's the season to fill them with garden produce!! Thank you for another wonderful video! Bless you and the family and I will see you the next one!!
Oh my goodness!! Your pantry is amazing 🤩🤩!! I loved this video of how you and your kid (s) helped build it. What a smart idea! Each and every time I see you and the pantry long term and short term I am so impressed. All that hard work you put into it and then you do one of your cooking videos it all comes together and makes sense! I am so interested in your freeze dryer! And I want to learn more about it. I just turned 67 and plan on retiring in about 1 1/2 years and my sister and I want to put in a hugh garden. We live 13 miles from town. She has chickens and raises a few cattle in which she shares with the brothers, sisters and kids. I have been buying things like a sun powered generator and several pounds of freeze dried foods in the milored (sp) bags from 4 patriots ever since COVID. And evertime I go to the dollar store to get my cat her treats I pick up a bundle of toilet paper. I just remembered how empty all the shelves were and i never want that feeling of despair to happen again! And I have wanted to buy a freeze dryer so my sister and I can put up years of canned goods along with meats, chicken soups and beef soups. When I first saw you freeze dry your eggs it was like a light bulb went off in my head! But I wonder with me being 67 and my sister being 71 would it be worth me buying one. Then I thought about buying an used one. I just don't know! Any thoughts? I could really use some. But you young lady just inspire me!! I love your videos and getting to watch what you and your husband do during all of the different seasons. Please keep the videos coming and I'll keep watching them! Oh yeah, I keep forgetting to ask you, have you bred Peaches yet? She is so pretty.
I use my herbs, and when i run out, Azure usually has it to help me out til next season. I have binge watched from 1-8 GREAT videos and amazing information!!! Thank you!
Jess, do I remember you (or someone) saying that freeze drying concentrates the sugars and other flavors? Love watching your videos, especially the fishing ones. (Hey, I'm a guy. 😅)
Dehydration cooks the food to dry it out, and doesn't last as long. Great for Jerkey, fruit, fruit leather and herbs. I have found it does change the color and taste. Where freeze drying pulls all the water and once you put water on it, it goes back to its per processed form, texture and taste.
Always love to see your pantry ! I dehydrate my herbs and stuff , would love a freeze dryer but not an option at the moment anyway lol love the everything counts challenge 😊
Wow I get to see you twice today. I love your pantry. Wish mine was upstairs but that’s ok I’m lucky to have one. Jessica can ask where you get your headbands. They are beautiful and I’d like to get some. Thanks. Thank you for sharing. See you again soon✌️🌸
You are set with herbs for some time to come!! I have one of the counter top grow gardens that I start in September and it gets me through until spring. It is hydroponic. The pantry is looking good and picture ready. Get some buckets out to catch the rain. It makes superb indoor plant water. Stores well in gallon milk jugs. I have a friend, as long in the tooth as me, who uses rain water as her final rinse when she washes her hair. Until our next visit, keep up the productivity!! ❤Momma G
The last time I saw your pantry, it was mostly store bought stuff and now it has so much more home canned, home grown, homemade, organic, staples and goodies!! You are getting closer and closer to self-sufficiency every year! It is so beautiful to watch your journey! P.S. Chervil is pronounced like SHER-vul.
I was the same way with canned potatoes! I didn’t grow up with them but canned some when I had a giant Sam’s Club bag that I needed to preserve. Now, canned potatoes are my go too. Besides frying them, I also roast them in a 425 oven, and air fry them. I’ve even started cutting them into French fry shapes and then I have instant fries to throw in the air fryer! ❤❤❤
Hi Jessica and sweet family! I just love your pantry, it would be a dream come true. My pantry was downstairs and I don’t do stairs because my staircase light is blown and I don’t have a way to change the bulb and nobody around here wants to do it. My pantry was a farmer’s pantry, lol. I hope you and everyone have a very blessed day! ❤️
Do you have a church family member that could help you with it or any friends that have kids that would help you? I wish I lived closer for I too would help change the bulb for you.
@@sitioeb thank you, but it is high above the steps and you can’t put a ladder on the steps without a special stabilizer made for steps. Have a blessed day!
Thank you for the information on the apron, I have looked far and wide for a set of copper cannisters, would you mind terribly if I asked where you go the set? You guys are a wealth of knowledge!
Oh those we actually won, one at a time! I did business development for the mining industry and we won them at events and they don’t have labels on them.
Hi sweet one! As usual I am impressed by your pantry...so well organized! I bet those beets were extra sweet! Have you heard of Thrive Life? They offer freeze dried, organic fruits, vegetables, etc for great prices. I know you don't need them, but they are really great for those without gardens who want to store food. Beautiful herbs!!! Great video! Big hugs and many blessings!

So you dehydrate many things or are you only freeze drying? I wasn’t to the part where you talk about dehydrating. Unfortunately as a retired couple freeze drying is out of our budget.
I do both. I’m just trying todo better with the freeze dryer because I have it I need to use it or it’s sort of waisted. But I’m currently doing both today
Cilantro is my absolute favorite herb. Grows here like a weed. I need to start preserving it and put it in salt like your onion and garlic scapes. Do you know if I can dehydrate it for that? Love your headband. Sorry they won't give us the vendor........BOOOOOOOO
