Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken (2023) Final Battle with healthbars

Ruby succeeds in retrieving the Trident of Oceanus but is betrayed by Chelsea, who reveals that she is Nerissa and that she escaped her imprisonment to manipulate a Kraken into helping her claim the trident in order to exact her revenge on the Kraken Kingdom. Nerissa sheds her disguise, trapping Ruby before going to destroy Oceanside.
Agatha and Grandmamah try to fight her off while Ruby goes to the surface to stop Nerissa. Nerissa overpowers Grandmamah and Agatha but is confronted by Ruby, who engages her in a duel over the trident. Nerissa gains the upper hand, but Ruby disarms her, realizing that the Trident can be destroyed with enough power. Ruby attempts to reason with Nerissa to no avail, so the trio combine their laser eyes to destroy the trident together, defeating Nerissa and shrinking her down to her normal size, where Gordon cages her.

I kinda honestly wanna remake the Final Battle of Ruby Gillman, but with less of the toy fight of the original and use some of the storyboard ideas and making both Ruby and Chelsea animalistic in fighting style and less dialogue + 2 other mermaid companions for Nerissa and giving both of their species more abilities like the unused camouflage and the water hair that Chelsea has to drag down Ruby in a storyboard + Make Chelsea and Nerissa mother and daughter tho I'll still use Chelsea's giant form while Nerissa would get a separate design than Chelsea's cause imo it's better and more creative than using Chelsea's giant form as Nerissa's design and making the 3rd act of final battle take place in the kraken kingdom and making Chelsea redeem herself

I honestly love this movie for what it is. But I will say, that in terms of direction and pacing, it definitely feels rushed.

Overconfidence on their part? Maybe it’s because Ruby used a different strategy, which appears to have been trying to get close enough to wrestle the trident away from Nerissa while seemingly not wanting to outright hurt her since she didn’t really attempt to land any hits. Maybe it was overconfidence on Nerissa’s part that led to her downfall.

1. Just because most of the fight happened off-screen (before Ruby showed up) doesn't mean they both got one-tapped.
2. Ruby is young and had been training, getting experience tackling the Well of Seas, etc. with her kraken powers for weeks/months by this point. Grandmamah meanwhile is elderly and Agatha is rusty because she hasn't even gone giant for 15 years.
It adds up, you're just looking for excuses to bitch.
