Absolutely wonderful!!!!
What in the hell... This is ridiculous. These teachers and students are so good I can't even believe it! I'm so impressed that it feels weird in my stomach..
I nearly peed myself when I heard the 5/8 part, cause that brought back the memories man!
An honors band having the honor to play Alfred Reed. Nearly sounds like a college band..A+ !
Yes, they are THAT good! Very mature sound, both individually and as an ensemble. This is comparable to a college group musically and technically. SO WHAT if some sections are a little under tempo. It's clean, it moves, it's a fine performance. Musicians and director are certainly to be congratulated. (They certainly outperform my community band of old has-beens!)
Why the frickity frack is Henry SO GOOOD?!
Because we are
They want to be!@@nomemeo3711
This is unbelievable. This group is better than some of the GOOD 6A concert bands I've heard. Absolutely incredible.
Unbelievable playing by what s probably 13-14 year olds. Their director must be a vey good teacher and I am sure they work very hard. What ever high school this group feeds must have a happy band director!!
He is a great director! One of the best out there.
Being as I played under Mr. Herrings (Our Director), I can assure you that there is no better middle school teacher out there than him, he is absolutely INCREDIBLE
@@sebastianarguello8156 I agree. I was in this band 2010-early 2012. And Mr herrings was a true inspiration. One of if not the greatest band directors in the world. Middle school, high school, professional, doesn't matter
Look the Vista ridge high school band from cedar Park tx, that's the school it feeds into. :)
@@moler512 No wonder Vista Ridge Marching shows are insane!
This is our song from last year (i'm a trombonist at henry) and I appreciate all the support we are getting, and thank you for the complements
What was it about your teacher that made this repertoire possible? Herrings has a nationwide reputation.
As far as I understand it they have multiple band directors and then studio classes for every instrument. On top of that most likely every kid in this band takes private lessons as they have 100s of band kids and these are only the top
No schools outside of texas do this as it is not cheap to have that many salaried band directors and music teachers. No schools outside of texas are in the same stratosphere and it shows. Even the best in indiana.@@benblessing
@@overnightclassic2McCracken Middle school in Illinois is really good
This piece was so fun to play
Y’all spelt “high” wrong… ok but fr how did they do it
The trombones at 1:22 make me proud!
I just heard they were number one in there state who was surprised...
Billy Bob Are there rankings online somewhere?
www.tmea.org/divisions-regions/band/honor-band/history From that link, under "year/class" select "2018 3C", click search and you will see the results.
Moogul Vid oh cool
The oboe sounds perfessional
The picolo player...my goodness...in eight grade, at most?
Correct -- eighth grade. Band starts in 6th grade at this school district, so this would be her 3rd year on the flute/piccolo.
These flutes are so in tune and sound good
yeahhhhhh
Blesss upppp :))))
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT !!!!!!...
Hey! I'm a student at Traughber Junior High School in District 308. We will be playing at the Midwestern Clinic this year. I would just like to say that you guys are amazing and the person who disliked this is trash.
No doubt that many of these players will be all state level when they are in high school...some of these individual players are doing some "ridiculous" playing to be 13-14 years old
Indeed! So from this group for the 2020 Texas All-state band, there is a 1st chair bassoon, 1st chair English horn, 2nd & 7th chair clarinet, 7th chair horn and 4th chair percussion. I think that covers it.
MIDDLE SCHOOL?
Yes. Mixture of 7th and 8th graders.
Moogul Vid that is crazy. They sound like a college/university ensemble. The middle schools I know have players who can barely play notes, let alone sound musical and use vibrato and other techniques like the players in this video. Crazy, just crazy
@@narutouzumakijoshua Texas music education brother
My school band is better
Well good for you.
bet
Sionda Game time What school do you go to?
Wanna bet? My middle school band didn't even have merit.
To be honest they are not that good
then why r they #1 in state😫
What state???
Sionda Game time Texas, and you know that Texas is literally the state with the best bands. So competition there is tough.
Yo bro, don't bring those negative vibes here, good vibes only.
@@cheesesteak1073 You forgot about Illinois District 308 Middle School Band run by Mrs. Maxwell but okay
