- Hi again folks! I'm so excited about this spectacular (it really is!) DVD/CD set from Tiki Parlour Recordings featuring 19 songs/medleys performed on 10 historic banjos. The music ranges from a late 18th century African piece played on a Pete Ross Haitian-inspired banza to music performed on five different prewar Gibson Mastertones and there are 19th century Jim Hartel minstrel banjo replicas and a stunning Vega Whyte Laydie #7 thrown in for good measure. Extensive liner notes provide historical background on the instruments, the pieces and the styles performed. If you're interested in the roots of old-time and bluegrass banjo and want to hear a wide variety of historical styles, accurately played, as well as big doses of Bill's original tunes, this is the DVD for you - it's worth hooking your player back up to your television. You might have seen Bill's full-length performance of "The Banjo in America" online but this is something completely different - both sonically and technically incredible, with great close ups showing playing technique and the beauty of these instruments. Visit www.billevansb... and pre-order your copy now. Thanks!
What is the tune at 37 seconds and how can I get tab for it? Awesome!
Hi Ben, Thanks for your interest. This is my version of "Clarinet Polka," that I've been playing for many years. I *used* to have a tab for this but when I went to find it on my computer, I couldn't access it. I'll write it out again someday!
That would be awesome...I would pay for it if you ever get the chance...that's an awesome arrangement and as usual you make it look so easy when it's obviously not 🙂👍👍👍👍👍
