- Here are the top 8 updates we shared today on some of our most highly anticipated projects at Disney during the biggest Disney fan event of the year, Destination D23!
Chairman Josh D’Amaro presented “A Celebration of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” at the event and offered a look at what’s coming to life at our parks, resorts and beyond - along with a few special surprises!
Josh wrapped the presentation saying, “over the next decade, we’re going to have more projects underway than at any point in our history. Our sole purpose is to give you more and more of what you love about a Disney experience. And then surprise and delight you with things you never dreamed possible.”

@@louisloother301Yes, and this is the best they could come up with to use those billions. Universal is creating experiences that are just as, if not more impactful at a fraction of the cost and time.
Yes, they have a chance to stop the cheap rides and cheap experiences but they prefere to push changing all princess skin colors first.
I guess Disneys plan is roll over and let Universal beat them into submission.
The reveal of the new Figment encapsulates just how bad all of these projects will be and just how much Disney doesn't "get" their own Company anymore?????

Nothing really. They just want to have an excuse to shove-in more popular and relevant IPs so they can keep making even more money since that's all they really care about nowadays. 🤷♀

Encanto can if they focus on antino and Indian john can work if they do something with mystical creatures like animal kingdom was going to have when it first opened but got scraped

Yep, nothing fits the theme and spirit of Animal Kingdom like Encanto.....
they have to try so much harder to cut off epic universe. why oh why are they so stuck on ONLY doing IP from their recent subpar movies. the most memorable attractions have always been the inventive, engrossing and original ride experiences.
Agreed! Some of Disney best and most iconic attractions were original IP to the parks! Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Big thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, it's a small world. THIS is the heart of Disney! Where imagination and and innovation meet. Three of these attractions were so popular it sparked their own movies. Disney.. it doesn't always have to be movies to parks it can go the opposite direction as well. IMO Disney should lean more into the SEA universe concept as well.
Rehashing old attractions……meanwhile, Epic Universe, a HUGE park with rides, lands, and attractions is being built in 3 years. 🤔🤷🏼♂️
Anther big "announcement" was that they're still looking at a major expansion at Magic Kingdom beyond Big Thunder, that could potentially be the biggest expansion to the Magic Kingdom ever.
Plus Moana opening up this year.
And a Figment Meet-and-Greet.
I'm going to miss It's tough to be a bug, DinoLand U.S.A., Dinosaur, and Test Track😢😢
For Dinosaur it just said "consdiered" that means it's just an idea. So we'll just wait on that to see what they decide.

Just worried triceratops spin looks like it might be replaced by another carousel? Please Disney Parks if it has to be replaced get more creative than a carousel and make sure it has a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV). I understand triceratops spin is not the most popular ride but Animal Kingdom has only 2 other rides that are wheelchair accessible and one closes early. Think about adding a WAV boat to Navi River Journey like the WAV boat they have at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium!
Oh no, don’t you DARE kick the dinosaurs out of Animal Kingdom! And when will Spaceship Earth get updated? The Avengers ride vehicle looks nice, however. Very ‘Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man’ inspired!
I hope we get the Country Bears back at Disneyland, too!
Fun fact tbe County Bear update was thought back as fsr back as 2004 and was going to be announced when COVID delayed it just as former Walt Disney Imagineer Ethan Reed said. He was the guy in charge of it. It wss first thoght ti Tokyo and then Magic Kingdom, and then was rivived. With that it means that there is hope for the Spaceship Earth revision, and the Marry Poppins expansion even if its different from the model that was unloaded by another former Imagineer on Twitter.
Super excited for Encanto 🦋🎉🌺 🎶 and Indiana Jones adventures 🤠 which both are awesome additions to Animal Kingdom Park!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I will one day, give announcements at the D23 Expo about my plans to expand everything Disney-related everywhere; the parks, the ships, the toys, the clothing, the merchandise, Castaway Cay and Aulani, including the Once Upon a Wish Ball.
encanto and indiana jones are "being considered"? okay well un-consider them. they don't fit the theme of animal kingdom at all!

Severely disappointed outside of the AK expansion.
I think the thing that hurt most was being teased by both the Muppets AND Journey Into Imagination in one fell swoop.
Here's what Disney should be doing for Disney's Animal Kingdom:
1) They should replace the Dino-Rama section of Dinoland USA with attractions themed to the Ice Age Franchise
2) They should be utilizing the free area of land located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch for South America
3) They should have a Zootopia attraction in Rafiki's Planet Watch
Edit: 4) If they don't follow through with #1 & #2, then they should utilize the free area of land in between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch for a new Prehistoric/Extinct-Themed Land

Most of the stuff seem pretty good, though I do question putting Encanto in the Animal Kingdom. Shouldn’t it be somewhere more appropriate
I think they should put Encanto behind Pirates/other side of the railroad track since that area is already nature themed. Also Indiana Jones belongs in Hollywood Studios.

I enjoy the new relaxed open chat vibe. Makes it seem like an actual fan thing, rather than a big press event.
I cannot wait for test track and zootopia replacing it’s tough to be a bug at Disney’s animal kingdom and epcot. And I cannot wait for the country bear musical jamboree and I am thrilled for Mac McAnally for voicing big Al. He was part of Jimmy Buffett and the coral reefer band and my exspectation said it’s 5 o clock somewhere.

Actually from what I heard they are going to pay tribute from World of Motion but the customizing is remaining. We don't know a lot yet.

Thanks for not doing a Zootopia Land at Animal Kingdom! I really hope that the Tropical Americas idea is what you go with as it would aesthetically fit great in that section and the cohesiveness of the park would remain intact. 😁😁

I never rode Dinosaur. I have seen videos of it though, and learned it has the same track layout as Indiana Jones. I hope the statue of Aladar will still be present in the park. That is all I ask. 😊

I'm really sad to see It's Tough to be a Bug being replaced. Bugs like bees and butterflies contribute to our planet to keep it thriving. I just find it difficult how a franchise like Zootopia fits under the Tree of Life when they have buildings and cars.

Disney when I work for you one day as a artist for the Disney Parks my goal is to retheme Twilight Zone Tower of Terror to Zootopia themed Attraction the Attraction takes place in the Zootopia Hotel where Guest enter a 2 preshows room with Zootopia hotel Employees and Miss Bellwether escaped jail and is planning to steal tons of stuff from the hotel and then the hotel employee calls Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde after you exit the Preshow room you enter your Elevators Miss Bellwether hijacks the Elevator and controls it to go insane and the whole attraction is about Judy Hopps and Nicki trying to capture Miss Bellwether at the End Judy and Nick finally arrest Miss Bellwether and the attraction ends guest would exit safely to the guft shop.
2:07 I CALLED IT!!!! I'm definitely excited for this Avengers Multiverse Attraction especially how it will effect the MCU perhaps before we reach Avengers: Secret Wars.
