After Luffys Gear 4 Ran out Katakuri was still able to fight. He stopped fighting bc he realized Luffy was never going to stop trying to win that's why before he purposely fell on his back he asked "Will you ever come back to fight big mom some day?"

I love these types of characters. Stoic, intelligent, strong af, and he's not a bad guy solely to be bad. He has morals and a motive for doing what he does, but he won't hesitate to beat the living shit out of you if you cross him. His fruit is insanely versatile as well, infinite ways to use it effectively. There may be others with more power than him, but in my eyes, he is indeed the absolutely perfect villain :)

There was no clear winner as katakuri fell on his back to give him the victory and as a sign of respect. And honestly in most shows the mc usually take more hits than the opponents. at some point ppl get tired of simply calling that “willpower” and it may as well be plot armor. Especially punches and the stuff they can just pass off as luffy tanking it but when it comes to swords its harder to use the same excuse.

I did my watch through early 2017, there were still ~770/780 episodes at the time (zou/to the reverie mini-arc) by the time I caught up it was into whole cake island just starting. Most people from like, “the first wave” of late one piece watchers came after marineford/post-TS fishman island start, since that was a major turning point in the show. So they would catch up on like 500 some episodes. Still in the naruto/dragon ball level range there. But eventually, once it finishes, a full watch through will certainly be quite intense.
Hamish McLean like 3 months total. First two months 10 episodes a day (nearly to ep 600 or so), but then slowed a bit on the third month as I was kinda sad about catching up.
I don’t know if they’re gonna be that tight together, but I know Katakuri has a lot of respect for Luffy, so I think later on in the story, he’ll be helping Luffy as a “somewhat” ally in whatever situation comes their way. Sort of like how Crocodile saves Luffy and Jimbei at MarineFord. I mean we never would have guessed Crocodile would have aided Luffy, considering his backstory and what he did. Plus he looks at every newspaper when Luffys on the front page. NOT ALL but few of Luffy’s enemies give him props for holding his own, so I think we’ll be seeing more of Katakuri (at least I hope so) plus we know he’s not really a bad guy, he’s just on the wrong side. That’s just my Theory

I don't know why but everytime I rewatch Katakuri vs Luffy, he keeps reminding me of Whitebeard. He is just like Whitebeard, he cares for his family and never shows his back in a battle, nor does he runs away.

Katakuri's growth in strength hit a limit but when he meet luffy fells like he had a lot more reason to become stronger... Katakuri pretended to be a big brother that his siblings wanted him to be but luffy make him realized to become true to himself, or Katakuri just reverted to his old self. Katakuri's character is very interesting, OP fans want him to appear soon enough, might be in wano or somewhere else...
i doubt manga readers don't watch anime because most manga readers start out watching the anime to catch up and end up reading the manga to see the rest because they get too curious and end up sticking. they go back to watch because they want to see what the anime did differently. I start out watching and went to read for this reason and found many epic moments were actually underwelming in the manga like luffy escaping from aqua laguna, it was a shitty tiny square compared to the amazing scene we saw in the anime

As I've said I'm a dub only watcher simply because I can't read the subtitles. the only time I can watch subbed anime is when someone is reading it to me which is rare. Also, in case your wondering how I'm able to type this and am able to reply to your comment. I use a text to speech program designed for the blind/visually impaired. the only things that sucks about it is that it doesn't describe images and it isn't able to read subtitles unless it's youtube captions.

The battle of Luffy vs Katakuri will most likely and may always be one of the best fights ever in One Piece. This fight wasn't about saving a kingdom or people. No this was a battle between men and their strength which their respect for each other only grew as the battle went on apart from the fact the fact they were enemies.
To be fair, i don't think he would mind having a friend's company Food is better when shared with friends, i hope Katakuri and Luffy will eat together at one point
Katakuri is the most honorable and in my opinion the most badass opponent luffy has ever fought, my reasoning is that he is the only opponent that luffy has truly wanted to surpass as a goal and train mid fight with. And when katakuri figured out luffy was injured by flampe which allowed him to pierce luffy with the mole spear, he then impaled himself in the exact same spot and went all the way through to cause the same injury. They then clashed with supreme kings haki to make sure they weren't disturbed again. This fight will forever be the top 1 fight.

I don’t know if they’re gonna be that tight together, but I know Katakuri has a lot of respect for Luffy, so I think later on in the story, he’ll be helping Luffy as a “somewhat” ally in whatever situation comes their way. Sort of like how Crocodile saves Luffy and Jimbei at MarineFord.
I mean we never would have guessed Crocodile would have aided Luffy, considering his backstory and what he did. Plus he looks at every newspaper when Luffys on the front page. NOT ALL but few of Luffy’s enemies give him props for holding his own, so I think we’ll be seeing more of Katakuri (at least I hope so) plus we know he’s not really a bad guy, he’s just on the wrong side.

Katakuri's growth in strength hit a limit but when he meet luffy fells like he had a lot more reason to become stronger... Katakuri pretended to be a big brother that his siblings wanted him to be but luffy make him realized to become true to himself, or Katakuri just reverted to his old self. Katakuri's character is very interesting, OP fans want him to appear soon enough, might be in wano or somewhere else...

i doubt manga readers don't watch anime because most manga readers start out watching the anime to catch up and end up reading the manga to see the rest because they get too curious and end up sticking. they go back to watch because they want to see what the anime did differently.
I start out watching and went to read for this reason and found many epic moments were actually underwelming in the manga like luffy escaping from aqua laguna, it was a shitty tiny square compared to the amazing scene we saw in the anime

@@catitan4585 I'm not totally blind, but I'm considered legally blind due to the fact that my eye condition disfigured my central vision. which means I can't see straight and I have to rely on my side vision to know what's going on. As I've said I'm a dub only watcher simply because I can't read the subtitles. the only time I can watch subbed anime is when someone is reading it to me which is rare.
Also, in case your wondering how I'm able to type this and am able to reply to your comment. I use a text to speech program designed for the blind/visually impaired. the only things that sucks about it is that it doesn't describe images and it isn't able to read subtitles unless it's youtube captions.

The battle of Luffy vs Katakuri will most likely and may always be one of the best fights ever in One Piece. This fight wasn't about saving a kingdom or people. No this was a battle between men and their strength which their respect for each other only grew as the battle went on apart from the fact the fact they were enemies.

Katakuri is the most honorable and in my opinion the most badass opponent luffy has ever fought, my reasoning is that he is the only opponent that luffy has truly wanted to surpass as a goal and train mid fight with. And when katakuri figured out luffy was injured by flampe which allowed him to pierce luffy with the mole spear, he then impaled himself in the exact same spot and went all the way through to cause the same injury. They then clashed with supreme kings haki to make sure they weren't disturbed again. This fight will forever be the top 1 fight.
