I have all of his releases. I think Big Pun is better than Biggie (my opinion). Big Pun is up there with Biggie and Pac (Ranked TOP 5 ALL-TIME), but I believe Hip-hop in general hasn’t really caught up to Pun’s greatness yet and may never will. Definitive discussions need to be had, race and politics may be a factor (very possible), but Hip-hop purists know deep down, that there’s no denying Pun’s lyrical prowess, burgeoning potential, and impact. He WAS the Terror Squad. Pun would’ve BODIED any rapper living in this generation if he was alive, no question.

DISCLAIMER: There are always exceptions to the rule. There are lots of passionate artist out today, and examples of businesses savvy rappers from yesteryear it’s a general statement not a zero sum judgment.
GENERAL FACT: Today there are a smaller percentage of pure artist and a larger class of self branded business moguls who rap. Nothing wrong with that.
MY POINT: Is not that todays music sucks. It is to pay homage to a severely underrated pioneer in hip hop. One of Hip Hops first Hispanic rappers and a man who put all his faith in music. At a time when hip hop was still a fad, rappers weren’t considered artist, and hip hop as a form of music was much less a guarantee due to retail boycotts and moral outrage prompting attempted federal regulations against hip hop. Rest in peace big dog I saw you shine.
