Hiwassee HALF & HALF 7.14.24

- Started out at Powerhouse with a small group of paddlers but struck out on my own at the Stair Steps, the halfway point.
I wasn't intentionally being unsociable, but I had to get back home within a few hours, and that wasn't going to happen at the pace we were paddling.
At any rate, it was a gorgeous day, as it generally is on the Hiwassee.
Real pretty run. Thanks for posting. Felt like I was in your boat with you. Is that a chest mounted camera? It looks so much better than the helmet mounted view.
yep - that video is a chest mount ... and i do agree that you get a really great view of the water / current / and it's almost a more accurate "pov" than the helmet mount. the only drawback is its a pretty narrow focus so there is a lot that would get picked up on a helmet mount just because it follows line of sight .... i like them both - depending on what i am wanting to capture for me and carie ... i have been tickled to see that some other folks are enjoying the videos as well ... especially since i am not really all that adventurous ... oh and yes .. for my money the Hiwassee River is awfully hard to beat ... ima head up in just a bit to make a walking shuttle lap today i think .. may get to paddle in some thunder (i enjoy paddling in stormy weather) ... thanks for taking the time to say hello and comment ... semper fi - chris
