Mel Blount changed that though his aggressive playing style was very effective aganist Wr.

Hopefully. A lot of analyst ranked him the worst DB last year. He had a really bad rookie season got torched against the bills in week2 and never really seen him again, but damn last out of all the corners I didn’t see that coming.

That little comment about when to shoot two hands in a press is very important. You can easily loose leverage or miss when shooting with two hands against an elusive player. I always wondered when was a good time, because I only use the one-handed jab when pressing. Good bit of knowledge for situational football.

It’s always best to press the receiver towards the Side line. “Keepin him in your back pocket”, so to speak. If he gets inside, the rest of the tree is available.

That foot reaction drill is such a good drill. Not just as a DB but all football positions need to emphasize the importance of having good footwork and keeping your feet moving, or you will get embarrassed on game day.

@@Messup7654 no. Have you ever played football? Plenty of oline men get bullrushed because they stop moving their feet. Dbs get burnt/ thrown off the line of scrimmage because they stop moving their feet or they just have bad footwork. QBs get sacked or throw the ball inaccurately because they stand flat footed in the pocket
