Clean and simpler transformation, great articulations. Whoever designed this version, they done a great job outclassing Takara Tomy, Hasbro, and other third parties.
What's crazy is that they could have kept the same grill for both modes if they wanted to. It would be the first and only MP scale G1 Prime with all real parts(grill, chest, gas tanks).
The design and engineering in this is amazing. Both modes are accurate looking, great articulation and doesn't look too complicated to transform. Makes me want one!

Wow... This looks a lot like the G1 cartoon series Optimus Prime. Other versions may have a lot more detail (and probably moving parts), but this version seems to be pretty accurate. I wonder how sturdy these toys are; all the small parts that make up these newer versions of the G1 figures must mean that they are awfully fragile.
absolutely fantastic amazing craftmanship of these figures, the only is if you were a kids you lose interest if you were going for quick transformations battling decepticons but even so make me sad cos all my figures from when i was a kid are gone sadly i gave them to my nephew and destroyed them including my limited jetfire(skyfire) to be a kid again simpler times.
That is just amazing!! I love how all the different versions of the G1 Optimus Prime have differing transformation methods and still come out looking close to his Animated Character Design. This version here looks to be about 100% accurate to that classic animated model. Growing up in the late '70s and early '80s, I am both envious and amazed at how far the "science" of Transformer toys has evolved. Not taking away from what I grew up with, but these toys would have killed it on the market had this level of quality and detail been a round in my childhood. The danger of breakage is also likely higher too. lol!
the custom one is DEFINITELY better wow looks like it cane straight out of the anime (yes the og series can be considered an anime since it was animated in japan iirc)
TE-01 is a great alternative to MP-44. Pulls off plenty of poses, looks toon accurate, and solidly built. All at a FRACTION of what MP-44 costs. It's a shame that some third party companies can produce such excellent figures better than what Takara can do.
The human figure is no doubt most accurate and loyal to G1 cartoon. Yet that is why engineers have to break it into flat pieces like broken cardboard in order to make it able to transform. I won’t call it the best or perfect.

TE-01 is superior to the MP-44 overall. Only advantage the latter has is the ab crunch. I really wish this was a licensed product.
