- Welcome to Schiehallion, a Scottish munro found in the Scottish Highlands. It is one of the tallest mountains in the UK and may well me a mountain biking masterpiece!
We all know the spirit of enduro MTB is exploring the land around us. In this mountain bike adventure I decided to take the enduro bike to one of Scotland's most famous mountains, Schiehallion.
From the experience I had on the mountain I have to say it is one of the most fun places I have ridden my enduro mountain bike. Schiehallion really does have it all, from tech to flow.
If you are looking for the best mountains to ride your MTB Schiehallion has to be on the list. There are lots of Scottish munros to ride but this is surely one of the most fun and accessible ones.
If you are new to my videos then expect to see high quality riding vlogs shot in the same style as McTrail Rider, Paul the Punter and BKXC. I try to travel to the best MTB locations in Scotland finding you the best mountain biking trails.
The video was shot on a GoPro Hero 10 mounted on the chin of an Endura MT500 helmet using a Gnartec mount.

So beautiful, stunning landscape, amazing trail. Dream ride, I would say!
I'd agree! Just need the weather to improve so that I can head back 👍
What an epic descent! Proper chunky keeping your riding honest. Really well ridden Jamie, except that last bit 🤣🤣🤣 great vid pal.
Ha ha, cheers mate 🤣😁🤙
Absolutely fantastic video 🤯❤️👍
Cheers dude. Pleased with that one for sure 👍
Awesome mate! Thats what mountain bikes and drones were made for.... fantastic edit 🤙
Cheers mate. It's the type of edit I've wanted to do for ages but have only recently had the tech! Glad you enjoyed it man 👍
Another fantastic video mate. Never done a Munro but this makes it look tempting!
Do it man. I'm sure you won't regret it. It's a very different type of riding but still loads of fun 🤙
Thoroughly enjoyed watching that on my big screen TV Jamie. A great cinematic presentation with nice drone footage. Great weather conditions for it. Cheers. Stoozer. 🤠
Ah brilliant. That's exactly what I was hoping for. Cheers as always for the comment bud. Hope you are well 👍
@@streetpigeonmtb I'm good. Just treated myself to a Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 TM. Life is too short. well for me anyway. Loving all your vids. Stoozer. 🤠
Ah nice mate! New bike day is always fun! Enjoy it buddy.
@@streetpigeonmtb 😃
Great stuff! Love the enthusiasm 🙂
Cheers Pat. Thanks for taking time to comment. It's helpful and very much appreciated 😁👍
Need to do that, thanks Jamie great footage 👊
I'd deffo recommend it if you want a munro descent that gives a sense of flow 🤙
Great video :) one of my favourite music makers wrote a cracking track about the mountain, and its use in the experiment to measure the weight o the earth back in the 1700's ... :)
That's awesome. In the original edit I said a but more about the mountain including the mass experiment. Left it out as I was worried people might turn off... Should've stuck with it. Cheers mate 👍
That descent was relentless! The drone shots add so much to these edits, better than just a riders perspective and I Really enjoyed how the edit moved between drone footage and Gopro. great stuff!
Cheers man! I was so excited when I managed to sync the audio across the two pieces of film. A big thanks to McTrail Rider for that inspiration 👍
Wow, what an epic location and even more epic video mate. You did amazing job encapturing the scenic views.
Cheers man! We need to get you on one of these Scottish mountain adventures dude 🤙
Looks a great Munro that Jamie! Nice footage mate. That’ll need to go on the to do list! Cheers bud. 👍
I can honestly say it's just fun. Not too challenging but puts a massive smile on the face. Close to Aberfeldy as well!
@@streetpigeonmtb Nice! That’s good too. Not too far. 👍
Was waiting to put this one on the tv this morning - was like being at the cinema with all the opening drone shots 😁. Amazing footage! Schiehallion looks a super descent!
Thanks Laura. The drone definitely has its place in the vlogs, especially on these wide open areas. Thanks for commenting and well done on your racing at the weekend!!! 🤙
awesome edit Jamie - guess you were lucky with the weather for the footage as well eh? - BUT. THAT. DESCENT. That looked so crazy good!!! 🤩🤩
Thanks Jay. We were very lucky indeed. What a fun descent for bikes as well 🤙
Awesome video.. Drone footage was great. Quality riding👍
Thank you Rhett. I've been hoping to get a vlog that properly utilises the drone for some time. Glad you enjoyed it. I was so pleased with the ride and the final product 👌
@@streetpigeonmtb Your videos are just getting better and better. One of the best on RUclips. Your hard work is much appreciated
Thanks bud 👍
What a fab descent mate. That fresh surface looked pretty loose at times, but the munro jank was exactly what I tuned in for - I do love a good rocky trail.
It was fabulous mate. I loved rewatching it and remembering the day. Scotland delivers 🥰
Drone shot looks stunning, I really wants to come to Scotland to explore natural trails and certainly that trail is on my bucket list.
Thanks man. That is super kind of you. Trust me, you could end up with a long bucket list in Scotland. So many good riding spots 🤩
stunning views👍
Yeah. Lucky to have the views - so often the clouds descend!
Another great vlog there, and well done to the pair of you!
Stunning scenery as always, it looked a very good riding day (not too hot).
You are absolutely right. It was just a great day. Perfect conditions and a perfect wee ride.
Looks great, might give that a go soon now that there are not so many tourists walkers about. Drone footage is looking 👌Jamie. Have u been up Torridon way yet?
Funny you ask... May be heading to Torridon on Saturday. I've ridden there before but never filmed. Excited bud... Hope it comes together (hope the weather gods are listening 🤞🤞🤞)
Top Notch Jamie...How did you not run in to any walkers though ? ! That's one mountain that's usually mobbed !
It was petty quiet TBF - also editing can always make it look quieter 🤫🤪
Some of them drone shots were epic dude! Looks like such a great descent, maybe even a job for the downhill bike!?
Thanks man. I'm sure a DH bike would be ace. We'll, going down at least. Carrying a DH bike on your back wouldn't be fun 🙈
Great riding skills. Like the mix of GoPro and Drone footage. Did you encountered any problems with the drone tracking so far?
Would also love to use it to get my clips to the next level.
Thank you mate. Really appreciate that. So far I've had no tracking issues. You can outrun it on really fast sections and it can be a bit of a faff to setup and put away, but other than that it's fantastic 👍
Nice one, I’ve walked up Schiehallion before and remember that boulderfield being relentless at the top. No way I’d want to be lugging a bike over that. Descent looks great. Would the whole thing be better with an ebike? Or is there inevitable hike a bike even with an ebike( therefore too heavy)?
Hmm. I think it is probably doable on an eeb, especially if you could use a walk mode on the stepped areas 👍 Saying that I don't own an ebike so I am not sure how reliable my advice is!
some of the "stairs" would be difficult to walk an ebike up I recon. You'd still have to lift the front end over a lot.
Climbed it many years ago and yeah same, really found it difficult going up that boulder field
Yeah. The boulder field is slow and tricky. Didn't see the point of carrying a bike over it!
Were you in Contin on Sunday?
Afraid not. Did you see my imposter? 🤪
Was that dust kicking up? In Scotland??
It was indeed! Don't tell anyone though. We are trying to keep it secret 🤫😜🤣
Too much background music for my personal taste, and I don’t get the whole tucking the ears in the cap thing either!
Having said that I enjoyed it mate so nice work. Just don’t over edit them. Less is more 👌🏼
Cheers for the honest feedback. It's always difficult to keep everyone happy but I'll always do what I can. The main thing I'm focusing on is making sure my usual viewers show more engagement. It's an endless battle in 2022. Still growing the channel and still bringing in the views 👍
@@streetpigeonmtb always enjoy your stuff mate but for me the sweet sound of the trail is all the soundtrack you need 👌🏼
Keep knocking out the vids and I’ll keep watching 🙏🏼
Cheers bud. Over the next few vids there will be an awful lot of trail sounds 🤙
@@streetpigeonmtb Sweet. Looking forward to them 🤘🏼
The very next one is a bit music laden... Saying that it's a totally different video together... For all the Tweedlove racers out there 🤙🤙🤙
