When the writers stopped using the history of the show they lost a great deal of material. I hope one day soon there's some new soap opera. I don't believe the genre is dead.
It’s really not when you think about it. A lot of tv shows and even movies these days incorporate a lot of soapy type storylines, the kinds that play out on shows like this. The people that watch them would never want to admit it because they want to believe they’re watching a higher form of television that’s ‘superior’.
Because she was also pathologically obsessed with "Dorian" because she was so possessive of "Victor" not realizing that it was based on an incestuous sexual rivalry... I also suspect that her other alters, _Jean Randolph_ and _Victor,_ were keeping "Viki" focused on "Dorian" so she wouldn't realize that _Tori_ (and, essentially, she herself) murdered "Victor". When "Viki" finally remembered what really happened the night "Victor" died _Tori_ told "Dr. Hannen" that she never admitted that *she* smothered "Victor" because "Daddy wouldn't let me!" ruclips.net/video/Jdk_YlWcqX8/видео.html
It's the stuff that Soaps are made out of. I told UK Soap Fans about this Storyline and they were blown away. I told them about Erika Slezak's legacy and they were very impressed. Viki blaming Dorian is similar to Cliff blaming The Ewings for Diggers' downfall on Dallas and Evan Bates blaming Rachel for his Mother Janice's Death on Another World, as well as Dan Connor finally stopping blaming his Father Ned for his Mother Audrey's Psychological Problems. It's better to blame someone else than themselves. Also, I think that Viki felt she had some loyalty to Victor not only because he was her Father but he taught her The Business during a time wehre Women weren't encouraged to do so. It was 1968, and Women weren't encouraged to learn Business the way they are now.
After everything Viki discovered about her Father why was she still determined to want justice for her father's death. I'm frustratingly perplexed everytime I watch these scenes.
Because child abuse is complicated. The victim can still feel loyalty to the abuser. However in this case, I think it’s Viki’s mind trying to reveal the truth to her.
I heard! I wish those scenes were available. I heard she actively tried to kill Victor. And knowing her history of childhood physical abuse, I can see Dorian murdering him.
@@fwdthinker I wish we could see Dixie Carter as Dorian (she was #02), but I do t think those scenes exist anymore. Claire Malis was a BLONDE Dorian! Nope! Elaine Princi was awesome, too.
Another example was when Nick Toscanni blamed Blake Carrington for his Brother Johnny's Death on Dynasty in a Third World Prison conveniently forgetting his Brother was a Drug Addict. He did a Billy Hayes, abused Drugs got punished and couldn't take the horror.
Since Dorian was acquitted isnt it double jeopardy? Well I guess maybe not bc the prosecution let her out bc of the forged diary. I guess only if a jury aquits you that's when double jeopardy is attached. I always thought it was a bad idea to hire nora as her attorney. She had too many conflicts of interest like bo the lead investigator was her boyfriend & viki was her freind. Their were times I felt nora held back. Or she would get mad at Dorian for drilling bo & viki.
Total re-write..well done but we all know the Dorian really killer Victor. She even said so back in the as in the 00s when mentioned it...but Vicky said that he came back lol
@Abbyviki No, she never burned it. It changed hands a few times before it wound up with (then) District Attorney, Hank Gannon, who was going to use it to revoke Dorian’s parole and send her back to death row.
ABC will forever be known as the network that SOLD OUT, and ended CLASSIC TELEVISION!
Definitely when the show was a classic like this... not the misguided mess it became after about 2001
Yes it sold out to those fucking corporate pigs Disney
LOL I love viki and dorian scenes
This was the last best OLTL storyline. Wonderful.
Their relationship will forever be so complicated but sweet. Dorian really comes off as loving Vicki but also jealous
My favorite soap. It was crazy and fun.
Yes Eterna, Badderly, evil Bo doppleganger (actually Patrick)

@@Charlie-hl7jr Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Lost, Desperate Housewives, Euphoria, This Is Us and on and on: ALL SOAPS!
Dorian laid it flat on the line . Very good scene
i wish they didn't kill oltl. for some reason i love Dorians hair like that
Wow she apologized and then tried to blame dorian...
After everything Victor did to Victoria why was she still so obsessed with accusing Dorian of killing that man!

Because it's easier to put the blame on someone else, then to admit what you have done. That just my opinion

I don’t know but I remember hearing a therapist say regardless of abuse from a parent a parent still loves their parents.
Nancy Pinkerton (Dorian #01 and #03) was much, much more evil in this role.
I heard! I wish those scenes were available. I heard she actively tried to kill Victor. And knowing her history of childhood physical abuse, I can see Dorian murdering him.

Elaine princi was Dorian #3
Elaine Princi is Dorian #3

Nobody killed Victor anyway. He was very much alive, at this point.
Yeah in 03
does any one have the next part. i thanks its were Vicki shatters and the new DID story line starts
I HOPE that before OLTL goes to pay cable we fianlly find out the whole trught about Victor Lord's death once and fore all and they can put it to rest
Dorian is one of the few people who pronounced Carlotta's name properly.
The dull Buchanons called her _Carlaaaahhhda._
🙄🙄🙄🙄

When Malone decided to retcon Victor Lord into a child molester it pretty much changed the course of OLTL forever.
@brinpol The tail end of the story.
