    I think that is the best truck camper I've seen actually. I was so pleased when we went inside and the walls are finished in simple white, phew!, no beige textured coverings that look sh*t and pick up dirt. Also it is so light and that is so important, you don't want a lot of weight high up on the back of a truck. So much that is good about that truck camper.

    This is an extremely nice camper. These ladies really built something special, functional, and sturdy. Well done all the way around. They're also MUCH less expensive than I thought they'd be. The base option starts at 16 grand, and the biggest starts at 22 grand, which while a lot of money is waaaaay less than this build quality gets you with competitors.
    The only thing I don't like about it is a tiny issue I think it would have with the flat front plus windshear from driving down highways at over 70 mph. I'm sure it works great and it is not gonna have any structural problems, but I think it could be modified from the factory with something that allows you to to get a slightly smaller profile and allow less wind sail issues. Perhaps if the front leading edge over the cab had a dormer-style swing up, you could get marginally better fluid dynamics while cruising through the air at high speed. Perhaps even following the angled roof lines so it all still looked symmetrical.
    If that would compromise the rigidity of the structure or its ability to keep out weather, which was the entire point of the build since they said they were trying to restore an old camper that was rotted out, I can definitely understand why they went with the solid vertical front end they have on this model. The current set up looks to guarantee that no water will get in anything, anywhere and that is more important than losing a mile per gallon in windshear. However, if these ladies could figure out something which gives them the qualities they want and reduce the profile enough to give you back that mile per gallon advantage, then I think they'd sell even more of these.
    Regardless of that extremely minor wind issue, what they put together is amazing, and I wish them both nothing but success, and hope they sell a ton of these, and make a ton of money. Quality builds with all these features and advantages, for less than 40 grand is not only a good product and business model, but its great for the consumer too.

    The design of this makes so much sense.. So many other camper builds have the kitchen area literally bordering the bed and it’s just like… why?? Imagine all the grease… Makes no sense to have the kitchen next to the bed. But this camper build very thoughtfully avoided that problem and the interior looks so nice. Wonderful wonderful build

  • @chrisogren8154
    @chrisogren8154 2 года назад +9

    Looks like an excellent camper. One minor thing on the exterior I would change is the solar compartment door that also holds the remote for the jacks. If possible, make it have a magnetic catch to hold open. I see you had to hold it open with your hand. Not good if you're trying to adjust the solar or raise/lower your jacks. The exterior over the cab of the truck is very boxy and not aerodynamic at all. A lot of manufacturer's attach a tapered cap at this end to try and help with this. Maybe something to consider on a future model.

      Amazing design, engineering, and product ladies! There has to be a proprietary way to curve the composite panels in a signature molding for a more aerodynamic cab over nose. Even if one continues the side(s) roof angle around to the front. The center of gravity design is huge if one doesn't have a 1 ton dually p/u. My 'V nose' utility 8x16 tandem axle trailer pulls night and day better than a flat front trailer or one with a nose cone fairing. What if a 'V nose' design was incorporated into the camper front cab over area nose with the 'V nose' horizontally (BEACHROAMER》{Wind) instead of vertically? I know one doesn't want to direct air flow to the cab over camper gap above the truck roof. Every added seam isn't ideal. It's built like a amazing brick outhouse with awesome !!!
      I wish BeachRoamer construction, and the design of formerly called 'CargoBody' truck work bodies could become one!

    Awesome use of each person's skill set. The elimination of wood would bring me such relief that my camper wasn't going to rot out in a few years. I agree with others that a bigger fridge would be nice.
    I wonder about that first step which seems awfully high. But that may just be me because I'm 5'2 and nursing a bad knee.
    I hope you go far and have great success with your business

      Hi TrailRider, we do offer a larger fridge which also runs on dc / solar charging power. You lose the storage space above the smaller fridge but probably worth it for the extra fridge space.
      I can relate to the step up being high (I have a hamstring injury that acts up at the worst times). We have different types of steps that vary in terms of height and weight depending on what works for the client. Anything beats the step ladder! Have a great day!

    Nicely done. In general, campers from the USA are not known for good quality. This looks very well built and nice. In Europe, we have been building campers from the same sandwich material for over 20 years. It's nothing new for us. Greeting from Sweden.

    Beautiful!! Smartly designed. Now... if only you could put all this experience and know how to work in building a small camper, like a Shasta. I love to take my son or even my mother camping... and so I LOVE the bunks in the front design, which gives us both a place to sleep and a place to sit and eat or work or surf the net, whatever... without disrupting someone who needs extra shut eye. I have a half ton, but I can tow a Shasta and park it and then use my pickup to get around town. I'd really love to see what you two innovative ladies could come up with. I bet you'd design something far and above what's been designed before.

    Well thought out and constructed unit. The soft close cabinet doors are wonderful but my one big concern would be that none of the doors have any latches to ensure they stay closed when the truck is moving. Having been a camper for years, I know that if you've travelled on a bumpy road, it's no fun to get to your destination, open the door and find the contents of the cabinets all over the floor.

    • @vickilistonwithbeachroamer4511
      @vickilistonwithbeachroamer4511 2 года назад +3

      Hi Ruth, that’s an excellent point. Definitely no fun to have to clean up right when you get to your destination. The cabinet doors also have a secondary lock that clicks into place when you’re traveling. Comes in handy especially with the soft close glides on the drawers.

    the structure is perfect and materials is great but that interior is all lady. if you ladies made a camper that was no frills no water, modular design like a scout it would sell like hot cakes. scouts are built like trash but the no frills modular design works. i live in alaska and i want a camper built structurally like this but i always find having no water lines to bust is always best. good non rot leak proof roof, diesel heater with solar and a fair price, that would be the ticket. keep it up ladies!

    • @BeachRoamerCustomTruckCa-ye2dy
      @BeachRoamerCustomTruckCa-ye2dy Год назад +1

      Thanks mudjerry! We custom build each Beach Roamer so can absolutely build one with minimal (or no) water lines and a more modular / bare bones interior. We recently added a diesel heat and hot water system as an alternative option to propane heat. It was driving us crazy that we can build in solar charging and replenishable water tanks to be off grid for as long as you want BUT you have to go back to civilization to refill your propane tank for heat. Diesel heaters, especially made by Timberlilne and Webasto, are incredibly efficient. Thanks so much for your feedback.
