Tankers also need in game speed adjustment requests. That same tanker wouldn’t be able to tank a 16, then an a10 due to speed. The ejected pilot I’ve wanted for long time. Would love to see you spawn into locker room an need to walk to your bird and climb in.
Can the A10 not fly 200 knots?
Improved ground AI
This is at the top of the list IMO. It would change so much.
I'm guessing this one's going to come with the eventual Dynamic Campaign, since it's pretty much required for that to even remotely function properly. I'll definitely be looking forward to it, because I love just playing around solo, but having to setup missions for myself kind of takes some of the mystery and fun out of it, since you'll know where threats are likely to be.
It wont be a dlc that costs 75 bucks so forget it lmao
@@AlenB29 Yeah, like all of the other free additions they've made to things like the flight models for AI, the combat AI, the mission editor, the graphics engine, the A-10, the Ka-50...oh wait, those were all free too...
Adding to the wish list. Improved AWACS calls that are relevant. I probably don't care about the bandit 150 miles away when merged. An option to use the comm menu as a single button radial like the Heatblur head movement system. Show the comm frequencies automatically for assets or airfields in the menu. Match the wording for the control binding. Redo the control binding so it is uniform across different aircraft.
AWACS interactions need work across the board. I don't NEED a call for the bandit 150nm off, but it would be really useful to have them give time to intercept call so I know approx. how much time I have to play around in the merge before I have to start defending BVR.
AWACs can be so much more than just "hey! did you see the datalink? imma just read off that datalink real quick for you in case you weren't paying attention"
The binding requests aren’t going to happen - nor should they. Matching the wording to the binding is somewhat silly because there are so many names for the same thing in the military anyways. Learn it, and 90% of the names are a clear match.
Consistent mappings between modules is somewhat there, but quickly breaks down beyond basic control surface bindings. As soon as you get to flaps, you have core differences like analog or switch position control going on.
@@EbonySeraphim Flaps are flaps though. People would have them bound the same for each aircraft on their system. IL2 does a pretty good job of mapping controls across multiple aircraft. All they would have to do is give the devs a simple template and binds that don't match current aircraft go in misc. It's weird you are adamantly defending the binding structure. It sucks in its current state. It's missing logic and ease of use. Not to mention it gets corrupted after updates.
We need a competitor. A competitor that gives them the wake up slap so what they slack off on for years they will provide in a year.
DCS "World" has no real world. The peak of your envirnonemt is the detail in interaction of the cockpit funcionalities.
Bomb fragmentation...
Being worked on, wags mentioned it in latest bomb fuse video
@@catfunt5583 like the weather system that was mentioned 4 years ago? like the comms ladder that was supposed to come out with mariannas?
lol... if I got 1 dollar every time ED made a promise I'd be a billionaire
Thanks for sharing, I will pass along to the team!
Thank you, much appreciated!
Classic response.. more than half of these have already been mentioned on the forum, this isn’t anything new to the “team”.
@@Criibzy Many are already reported, but sharing new videos can make sure they remember what people are looking at. Thanks.
@@Criibzy There's no need to be aggressive - you can be nice to the devs (who are real people) and they will probably put a lot more care into what they do.
There's so much more we NEED than this
The longest journey starts with just a single step
@@geoffreywallington2930 Not for ED
Nicely and respectfully done. I hadn't really noticed one or two of these, but in the context of wanting more immersion none of these items is unreasonable.
Great post and notes , the little things make a HUGE DIFFRENCE IN GAME DEV!
Up draft and down draft to add to the challenges of helicopter flying in mountainous terrain, including white/brown outs.
Agree with all. I would also like something pretty simple - the ability to ask ATC for a touch and go when doing landing practices. When you'd had your fill, then ask for landing, full stop. Separate counting of shore landings and carrier traps, with carrier traps further differentiated between day and night. But that's pretty picky
This feature is in MSFS 2020, and I hadn't realized how nice it was until I started DCS.
100% agree, excellent points raised.
"A landing's a landing, don't worry about it."
Sacrilege - Overheard at Oceana O-club - "You can train a monkey to land on a runway"
@@geoffreywallington2930 Love it.
That's the attitude I have towards DCS. Things don't have to be perfect... it's a game, not real life :)
@@geoffreywallington2930 Not surprising, the Apes figured it out. Lol
Every point you made- SPOT ON!
Good video! good to stay positive for once. i would like to see Ground AI improved! attacking ground targets right now feels a bit empty, like they are practicing targets. would also bring Combined Arms more alive!
Was wondering what was going on with the shadows! And yes, agree with all points. Esp. The rain. Did Raven mission tn where pulled into a hanger from a storm, and was still raining lol.
Lest we forget the heatblur effect rendering on the incorrect z-plane in the hud... A bug that Waggs mentioned in an interview in 2020 and it's still not fixed :)
It would have fit right in with the topic. I'm kicking myself for not including that in the video!
Your wish list is My wish list!
Yeah thanks Jake, now I'm going to be staring at bushes XD
LOL. Sorry, man. Fly high altitude. Get away from the bushes!
Collision physics for the refueling drogue would be cool.
I was thinking it would be cool to have a QRA option in either/both the ME mission select or take-off select. IE: on the cart, systems warm. Likewise, the "Alert-5" option on carriers.
Ground AI/behavior. Allowing a real living world below that’s effected by what happens in the air. Infantry behaving and fighting like infantry and not having Terminator Daddyhack reaction and accuracy.
Infantry that can actually embark and disembark. Helicopters would be a whole new world.
If you haven't done so flag bignewy on the forums , the rain in the hanger made me laugh :) but you are absolutely right! it would be a lovely to have , same with the shadows/objects, but, i believe in both cases it is performance that drives it ...
Adding on to your hanger issues, does it make sense that you're getting rwr bings while in a hanger?
I' shall grant you your thousandth subscription!
Improved all plane AI
That's the point - encountering a Fulcrum doing tight circles and pulling constantly 8 to 9 G is frustrating. And AI AoA is also badly calculated, its too low for such tight maneuvers.
@@jakubdabrowski3846its even more frustrating when fighting things like the F-5 or mirage f1 in the phantom because the ai do things that just are not possible in the player controlled aircraft.
@@terraoftime Yes, the AI-controlled Mirage F1 behaves almost like Spitfire. I posted that problem on ED Forum, and added a trackfile as a proof.
If I'm not mistaken it was Razbam that provided the MPRS variant of the KC-135 along with the KC-130, because they needed a tanker for the Mirage and Harrier. If I'm not making that up in my head then ED would have to provide their own versions or Razbam would have to figure that out and enable it. I do agree that it would be nice to be able to refuel both aircraft types with one tanker.
The rendering of aircraft, shadows, and foliage is a performance saving measure, though maybe they could make some tweaks to it, it's the same reason you get trees 'growing' out of the ground you fly a certain levels and your view distances are at the 'right' distances. ED has too optimize performance where they can to allow folks on lower end machines and VR users to get at least decent performance out of their older hardware.
Personally, I think the MPRS, as presented, should just be the KC135 with a Drogue attached to the boom, not the MPRS. The best thing for ED to do at the moment (thanks to RB being a petulant child atm), is introduce the KC-10 Extender with the duel function.
@@Tank50us ED has mentioned in the past that they would like to make the boom drogue combination so the Navy fighters would have another genuine option to tank from. The MPRS is genuinely needed as it’s a NATO we just need to have it updated to be able to utilize the boom. I do agree with the need to add the KC-10 as it’s always nice to have more options in the sim.
Our servers run CSAR scripts that let you get back lost lives by picking up ejected human pilots. There are no non-static AI pilot models, so we have to use soldiers in woodland camo armed with M4 rifles. A tiny issue, but it has a negative effect on immersion. 🙂
I think the ability to have static aircraft with a load out would be cool. Having hornets and tomcats on the carrier deck that aren’t just empty would be far more immersive. Imagine all the hornets and tomcats on the deck with fuel bags, sidewinders and sparrows loaded. Far more realistic.
IMO from this list i would only consider the KC135 and the ejection bit. The other things are kind of visual only. Imo DCSnow must focus on its core functionalities rather than visuals, like better AI logics
that was a good landing señor.
Good enough for DCS. ;)
@@takeoffwithjakesoft still way better than me, i keep messing up the landing gear lol
I’d love if they can fix the broken replay system. I can’t even use it anymore, just auto crashes every time.
I wish the ATC would actually queue up flights... you know... like flight sim X decades ago.
I would love to see very dusty landings in helicopters. The wind updates were awesome but landing into the desert needs brown out conditions!
i agree with everything other than the walking around / rescue operations. while the idea of a find-and-rescue operation for helicopter pilots + CAS sounds nice on paper, you'd have to
1: need some helicopter pilots always online to do the job
2: ask downed players to wait for 15-30 minutes until they get rescued.
most players will want to respawn after ejection and if you give the ejected player the option to either respawn immediately or wait for rescue, then i can imagine how most people on the server well see an ejected player walking around and think "dude, why don't you just respawn?... you're wasting everyone's time"
i've seen both types of reactions in star citizen. some people love to play taxi and bring people from A to B if someone's stranded, but i also read a lot of "just hit backspace to respawn" in chat, if there was nobody there to bother playing the rescuer.
I mean, one option is to give DCS a 'shooter' logic system. IE, give the engine the capability for players to take control of troops on the ground. This would open up the Pilot Rescue missions, especially if ED would add some level of "Zues" functionality for the game (where a player can spawn units on the fly and direct them). Such a feature that's built into DCS would VASTLY improve its quality of life.
@@Tank50us while that would be a good way to add something for the player to do while they're waiting for the rescue, if they want to wait in the first place and not immediately jump right back into the cockpit, i see the following issues.
1: i'm not sure how the ESRB rating is on DCS. if they have a rating of 16+ then adding a shooter game-mode might increase the age rating.
at least that's one of the reasons why some other military games try to avoid models of soldiers being visible.
2: i'm not sure how many people, who bought a fighter plane in DCS and potentially spent hundreds or even thousands of € / $ for sim pits, would like
to play an "arma clone" instead. not everyone's sim rig configuration allows for easy or intuitive shooter gameplay.
3: i'm have no coding experience, so i don't know how possible or how much work it is to add a shooter mode to DCS world, but i'd bet it's not done in
a week or two. you'd probably have to add and adjust a lot of code to make this possible. it would likely be not viable for ED to redirect resources to that kind of extra work.
4: i don't know how much work the "zeus" directors / players have, but adding ground troops like soldiers and having the possibility of a player suddenly
spawn in as a soldier would definitely add more work and possibly stress, as they'd constantly have to be on the lookout for players who ejected in the middle of the desert, decided to spawn as a soldier and then get teleported to a squad that nowhere near where they ejected. the zeus guy would have to look where that player is.
surely, there are ways to make this easier via UI elements, but all this has to be coded / programmed.
that's a lot of stuff :/
so even if i thought that it's all worth it, i doubt ED will implement it.
I want the dynamic campaign lol
Dynamic campaign
man the strike eagle pilots look creepy on the ground
2 words. Fog Graphics 👁️👁️
Realistically the KC135 can only do both types of refueling with the pods and a boom. Normally they either have a boom or a centerline drogue they can't swap refueling types mid flight. The KC10 and KC46 have both boom and centerline drogue built in for every flight. Not sure if DCS models this with the KC10.
It would solve the same problem to add another tanker type that could do both if the KC-135 MPRS is deemed inappropriate to update in this way. I really wouldn't mind that, so long as there is some way to put one unit to handle all refueling duties.
I thought I was the only one having that issue
@@takeoffwithjakesoft yeah. What's needed is for ED to quickly throw in a new tanker type since Razbam are the ones responsible for the MPRS (and I'm sure you know how they're doing atm...) Having additional tanker frames would be beneficial for multiple reasons, but least of all is immersion since these things also act as transport aircraft (hence the K C designation).
at 0:10 i was like wow wtf why he has an F-18 on his wing pylon... lol
I would love to see some more low fidelity aircraft. More stuff like flaming cliffs 3
And we will have it in the upcoming Flaming Cliffs 4 - MiG-15 and F-86 will be added.
well boy do i have news for you
Actual working mirrors pls
There are more radio calls missing even in the very old SU-25T which may hook many people to DCS... I think it is really a bad sign that ED doesn´t care about such easy to fix but very obvious things - since years now. Missing Pilots(models) in different modules (BS3/SU25T), stupid AI behaviour (going Melee and not using stand-off weaponary), terrain textures in Caucasus map (which now with Helos is even more impartant beside the fact that its the first thing new players see), civil traffic going through military vehicles because of higher speeds...
Just to name a few more
If they update the textures or anything with Caucasus they should also add a setting to allow players to stay on current Caucasus. It's the only map I can get any reasonable performance with, if they upgrade Caucasus there's a good chance I'd have to completely stop playing DCS.
😂 HA! A wishlist to Erectile Dynamics?!? Don'cha know DCS is only being created to make the next Top Gun movie & its pre-quels!? 🤷♂️😆
how about a system to add cretin players as a friend so u can see what server there on and go find & fly with them so people can form groups/squadrons and actually have a wing-man. And maybe god forbid configure DCS so in-game voice in on by default at-least when it comes to the speaker setting so new guys can hear whats going on atleast
I would love a full fidelity European jet like the Rafael or typhoon
Eurofighter is in development by HeatBlur right now. I'm looking forward to that one myself.
Give me anything to make it have a game mechanic. Give me anything besides kills to track success. How well did I fly the flight plan m, what was my landing rating, how close was my bombs to my career average. Let me have a way to have a purpose outside of “fight our bad ai”
I think people are too much careful how they approach dcs in criticism. Last patch they released they messed up vipers weapon systems. I mean this is basic software development process to check these things. From running unit tests to running staging environments. I’m surprised that no one checked basic functionality and this is frustrating.
rain occlusion.. are you mad?
So you eject and suddenly now youre playing Tarkov
@NumbersLetters_ Kind of. You'd only have at most a pistol to defend yourself, though.
I've been preaching more realistic ATC in single player for years. Above all else, DCS is a flight simulator, and while I understand why they don't, I just wish they'd prioritize basic airmanship quality immersion over combat first.
I hate to be “that guy” but it’s actually NOT a flight sim first. It’s a nice looking Combat Simulator. With it being in the name too. The game was originally formed around fast access combat missions in modern jets. They have had to work at and tweak the FMs to make it even seem like decent flight physics.
I'd be fine with them just not driving off their 3rd party devs and spending millions on the owners private plane collection
They should sort the problems with razbam out...
3:27 lol just like i told you, fixing this for a graphic coder is easier than fry an egg, they dont care, sounds harsh but is true, they will fix it one we can dream here, and you are lucky to have a ground on that hanger because many hangers in DCS the ground have grass and dirt, by the way, why they dont do bigger hangers like you see on any military base, where you can fit 4 or 5 jets, why at this point in single player we dont have our custom hanger with the planes we bought for 100dolares? thats very hard to do for them, they cant handle that much. 4:55 what a great idea man, in MP would be fun and even more entertaining, and yes after the ejection we should had to go to a safe zone or safehouse and not captured by the enemy...Jake you are killing me here with great ideas, in MP waiting to be rescued, man this would open so many possibilities, but these "little things" ED wont see money so they dont do it and thats why many devoted pilots wont click in DCS anymore.
the Kc135 MPRS with a working Boom, would give so much work to ED that they dont even think about it...WRONG, as a coder myself making that happen would be easier than fry a egg, ED really dont care that much, after 17 years of existence they have a dedicated team of less than 20 guys, Imagine that! I think they keep looking to things that we really dont care at all, improving the pilot helmet or many other things that no one cares or is asking for. Sometimes feels like ED are stuck inside their own box and they cant look it from outside of the box anymore, is pretty frustrating despite some things they have corrected after 5 years. DCS is great but with some changes could be Epic and DCS isn't Epic, at this point we should had 3 or 4 logistic/support planes like the C-5 or even the B-52... they keep speaking in the Hercules since 2019 , maybe in 2027 we have it, is just sad at this point we could have these modules for the "dynamic" missions and campaigns, these planes would bring other style of pilots that are stuck in MSFS because they keep waiting, every pilot would have their role, even the C-17 should exist in DCS already, but ED take forever to do anything, they could ask PMDG or other developers for a hand in these planes but no no no its my baby no one can look to the code..now we are waiting for the A-7 corsair, oh my lord im so done buying all these cold war jets, like the phantom, i bought it but after 2 weeks im almost done with it, is just sad they forgot so many aspects around DCS, daily and weekly challenges with points or prestige to earn, everyone would enjoy that to have a real pilot progression system, who doesnt to show off a little bit in MP, the pilot´s log is a dead tab no one cares. They have this formula #Announce # hype # trailers # sell sell sell , begin the same formula again, and brother i agree 100% with your list, but forget it, wont happen just if some mod from the community come out to do that, long live the content creators of mods in the DCS community their work and things they do including better looking trees is better than ED work most of the time. Srry for the big msg and my bad English, Portuguese here
No, they need fix lots of other stuff first not things with almost no gameplay impact.
Read the title and listen to the intro again.
The devs have already made comments on the KC-135 MPRS and refueling in general. If i remember correctly its an engine limitation with how the different types of refueling were implemented. Aka it would most likely take quite an overhaul to redesign/fix, so will likely never happen...🫠
I agree it's not likely, but a man can dream, can't he? :)
