This has been really interesting to me, I am not a runner, more of a garage gym enthusiast but a month ago I injured my PHT bending over to catch a chicken after a workout with a lot of burpees and deadlifts. No one has mentioned this but it get like an ankle sprain in my hip, it was so odd, but I have all the symptoms of PHT. I kept my activity up but lower intensity because I know that inactivity is ultimately worse. I’m looking to really get through this annoying injury.

I think I have this. Problem is I have a marathon in 2 mts. My pace has slowed by about 1 min per mile, can barely get to 10 miles, usually have to walk. I think I may not get to the start line😢

I've been unable to run without pain for 3 years and been to 3 different physios and still haven't figured out what is going on- SI joint problem, sciatica, muscle imbalances in my left and right side. I think I have pht but it may be a combination of things as well. I have sharp pain high up in both hamstrings, which is most noticeable if I am pulling up (for example to take my shoe off when standing or when I do a single leg straight deadlift). Sitting gives me aching dull pain through to the middle of my hamstrings and the same with running. I feel it as soon as I start to run but it is worse going uphill than down. I don't expect a diagnosis here, but wonder if you can clarify pht for me:
Can the pain from the proximal hamstring tendon radiate into the middle of the hamstrings as well, after 3-4kms, I get really tight and sore in the middle of my hamstrings, like a big knot starts to form. Thanks.

@@stacymail4844 your description is spot on to how the athletes I help with this condition describe it. Very common. Would you like to learn more about the strategies I employ with my 1:1 program so you can get back to running without this stubborn pain?

I have persistent tightness in the upper right hamstring. I’ve been dealing with this for months. It’s not bothering my while running, but I feel it a lot when stretching. I don’t know what it is. I want to get rid of it.

If stretching is not alleviating that sensation then stop stretching and start loading the structure with the exercises in the download here: learn.sparkhealthyrunner.com/pht
