Here's my tips to new players to battlefield or anyone who just started playing the beta. 1. Pick scout class 2. Attempt to do what has been said in video, rage 3. Spawn in tank 4. Shoot everything and take objectives at ease
"Get to a strategic location to snipe from" Well said, people need to understand this instead of just calling campers the snipers who play their role right.
Sushi Master team fortress 2 or titan fall 2? Titan fall 2 started in the future so it’s not infinite warfare and it wouldn’t be called titan fall if there weren’t robots falling from the sky
Good stuff!!! An additional tip that is really noticeable on a map like Sinai: Don't stay scoped in search for long time. Basically you are becoming a lighthouse for everyone to notice w/ you scope/sight glare.
I appreciate you advising people to work as a team and play the objective. A sniper can be used to thin enemy numbers at the object, as well as help capture directly. Too many players just meander around looking for easy kills and what not. The game is the most fun when strategy is involved
I am not kidding here. This is by far the best sniper guide I have ever watched. I am a noob and you really helped welcome me to battlefield (I've only been playing since bf4) and this video helped influence my gameplay because I make a lot of mistakes that you mention in this video. Thank you, I'll never give up on sniping!
good guide. this is my first battlefield game and it's really blow me away. moved away from CoD, as the pc versions have been shit for a long time. i think the hardest thing to get used to is taking time to aim in this game. recoil, bullet drop, and the punishing nature of missing shots with bolt action guns and the dmr's in this game made me rethink my approach to aiming. no more twitchy spray gameplay!
As an annual COD player I have dibbled in battlefield 4 and Hardlined but never could get into them properly, BF1 is the first I have really enjoyed and I'm now gonna purchase the pass. Thank you for a great video and info, thought it was all about kills like COD at first but BF really is a more playable experience, you've earned another SUB 😉👌
First couple games I was very frustrated cuz tanks are extremely over powered n still haven't figured out how to get that fuckin train to come in lol but I've noticed the sniping on BF1 is much easier than hardline and BF4. On hardline u had to lead your target massively but on this you barely have to lead
Yes they did increase the bullet velocity alot. The train only comes in for the losing team to help them recapture objectives. Tanks were nerfed I believe.
Nice vid man. Came over from CoD when I got a taste of BF3. Really liked the way you covered movement and location. Practice and don't get frustrated...GREAT advice for any class but definitely Scout. Looking forward to your bullet drop / adjustment vid.
One tactic you forgot was when sniping is find unusual places on the map just find a place that doesn't get a lot of action and stay there. Tactic has worked well for me since people look in the obvious places. so find an unusual place.
thanks for the video Average. I played Battlefield 2 on the PC back in the day and never really used the scout class and recently have spent the last 3years on Destiny lol. I didnt really understand what the adjustments on the down dpad were for so I will practice tonight thanks again
an actually helpful video. playing the open beta was my first battlefield experience. im usually on call of duty all day all the time. and i could see instantly how this game is more realistic and complex. a couple of the aspects did confuse me. like the zoom mechanic. it just wasnt explained to me before. but this vid helped. thanx
Thanks man these tips are really helpful coming over from COD. I have to say I'm really liking Battlefield even though I suck -- it's nice to actually get rewarded for playing the objective and I feel like I can still help my team but capping flags while learning how to use the weapons properly.
There is a Sweet Spot mechanic, as you'll see when selecting a rifle. All of the bolt actions have this, some longer than others. This means that in a certain range you can one shot kill someone with a hit to the chest. Since I'm not very good I typically would try to take advantage of this, which gives you a reason to use different rifles for different engagement ranges. It makes snipers incredibly deadly, even against running targets. Also, bullet drop and velocity are not a sudden effect, they occur over the travel of the bullet. What's different in BF1 is that base velocities are improved, while DICE added drag to bullets. This slows them down, making long range shots very difficult, while midrange sniping is significantly easier.
Go to symthic .com and you can see the range at which snipers have the ability to 1 shot kill. Kind of odd that up close they do ~90 then 100 then drop back down when the bullet velocity starts to diminish.
The sweet spot mechanic has at best a weak basis in reality. There is a good reason for snipers not to one shot at point blank range, that would make them ghetto shotguns. The physics explanation is that the bullet tumbles more as it slows while traveling through the air. More tumbling equals more damage to the body, too slow equals less damage. So there's a sweet spot.
Yes, this video is more of a guide for beginners but my latest video which is uploading now talks and gives more details about the sweet spot mechanic.
Thanks for the info I don't panic just trying to get better at sniping, since I haven't played battlefield since 1942 and 1943, those were the first two I believe.
I prefer the SMLE MK III for a short range sniper, Russian sniper for medium range, and Gewer 98 for long range. SMLE is easiest to use, but not always effective. I always keep Russian and Gewer to 150 and SMLE to 75. Only go higher at long ranges/across map.
Sometimes I go prone at a vantage point(such as the top of the inclined rock between objectives G and D) and spot an enemy at who is prone at there vantage point(a random spot on the sand near objective A). Try to imagine the distance. After the enemy spots me as well, we start to take shots at each other, of couse I adjust my zero distance accordingly when the bullets fall short. Then it gets to a point where I can see where the bullet is going and it appears to touch the enemy but doesn't harm the enemy. Then no matter where I try to aim the crosshair of the scope, I can't land a shot at the enemy. I either miss completely or appear to land the shot but actually miss. After about a minute I start to get suppressed and eventually I end up dead. I don't remember whole the name of the sniper rifle that i use, only that the word "Russian". It's the first weapon on the list of snipers when choosing.
That has happened to me before too. It seems like the visual on the bullet is not reliable after 200m give or take. I have had some success with long shotting though and it seems to be pretty different from previous Battlefields. After 150m the bullet drop increases tremendously.
you can get on top of the mountain between f and g by climbing a ledge on the f side. it's great for peaking over and destroying unsuspecting players trying to use the cliffs
+The Average Sniper You Helped Me Snipe So Much In Battlefield Hardline And Battlefield 4. I Learned BF1 For Myself But I Couldn't Have Done It Without You. I Just Wanna Say Thank You! My Gamertag Is Biohazard4224 If You Ever Wanna Add Me But We Don't Have To Play. Anyways. Thanks For The Help! Also Love Your Videos.
I'm playing sniper more often in this game. It was always the least class i've used but now the rifles and bolt action guns are much more rewarding than machine guns.
Great Tutorial and things what we have to keep in mind i am a RUclipsr To and i have trouble with the scout class killing with a rifle but like you say the practice makes perfect Thanks you!!!
I agree. .....The gweher 98 sniper is really gr8 at long distance epically wen it comes to its bullet drop. ....but surprisingly I gt a high kid....like very high more with the Russian but my kills were most med range it's just I noticed u cocker the weapon faster or maybe cos I removed the bayonet I noticed u pull ur gun up faster wen I remove ur bayonet
I am a shitty sniper and I have always been one on GTA 5 or Overwatch or Halo but whenever I try to play as a sniper on Battlefield 1 I do find a good spot for me to hide. Problem for me is that the enemy is mostly sprinting so it gets difficult for me to get a good aim at them. Plus that I put down a Tripwire firebomb if someone would sneak attack me from behind. In that way, I get alarmed and get out of the quickly as I can or switch to my pistol or melee the burning bastard to death.
I have the Russian 1895 sniper, SMLE MKIII infantry,SMLE MKIII Marksman,Gewehr M.95 infantry, and the Lawrence of Arabia's SMLE for scout which one is better?
Do you know about the sweetspot mechanic average? at certain ranges snipers do more damage, gewher 98 is a oneshot from I think 90-120 meters, and not before or after that. all thew rifles have it, wich is awesome. And in the gameplay part of the options you can turn on kill log (kill feed)
Thanks advising on being calm, because honestly i kinda suck at multiplayer,i have a membership, but hardly use it,a waste i know. But i need to dive in,like you said your going to get killed. So anyway thanks for the vid,it gives me confidence..Already finished single campaign, fun i must say.
in regards to distance, you said we can adjust the scope , but how do you know how far away the target is? Do you just have to judge it with a guess? or is there a readout or something? thanks, I havnt played online yet , I'm still playing the story mode on xbone btw,
Great vid. What kind of aim sensitivity do you like in sniper class? I think I have 55% on but thinking that might be too sensitive for long shots. Thoughts?
Click and hold is what I use on PC. Mouse sensitivity is completely up to you depending on how you play. Lower sensitivity for long range and faster for close to medium range.
thank you - I can't remember how I used to play the earlier battlefields - maybe I am getting old but I am having a harder time with battlefield 1 sniping lol
so when you scope in,can everyone see the glare or only the person you are aiming at ? cause ive seen snipers sniping a dude next to me and i can't see a glare until they aim at me, but idk
If they are close to you then they pretty much have to be aiming right at you for you to see the glare. If they are far away then more people can see the glare as they aim in your general direction.
Here's my tips to new players to battlefield or anyone who just started playing the beta.
1. Pick scout class

lol
"Get to a strategic location to snipe from" Well said, people need to understand this instead of just calling campers the snipers who play their role right.
Exactly! Thanks for the input man. Always appreciated.
Damian FPS and I hate that people say snipers “don’t play the objective” do they expect you to run into an objective with a sniper rifle?
this is the best sniper guide on yt, thanks man!
Wow thanks! And glad you enjoyed :)
yea i did. unfortunately i still suck big time playing sniper lmao. but this is my first bf since bf2 so i'm far behind the curve
zeroqrwaskilla check out the video I made after using his tips
can we stop console wars and just make fun of infinite warfare
Of course
TOP TEN MONTAGE ! I'm into COD but fuck that P.O.S game that crap infinite warfare game sucks
I agree! No more Console Wars! Make fun of Infinite Warfare!
(Tf2 is infinite warfare)
Sushi Master team fortress 2 or titan fall 2? Titan fall 2 started in the future so it’s not infinite warfare and it wouldn’t be called titan fall if there weren’t robots falling from the sky
Good stuff!!! An additional tip that is really noticeable on a map like Sinai: Don't stay scoped in search for long time. Basically you are becoming a lighthouse for everyone to notice w/ you scope/sight glare.
Yes it's like having a beacon for everyone to see LMAO
+The Average Sniper LOL glad you could decipher that w/ my piss poor wording/grammar!
I appreciate you advising people to work as a team and play the objective. A sniper can be used to thin enemy numbers at the object, as well as help capture directly. Too many players just meander around looking for easy kills and what not. The game is the most fun when strategy is involved

Awesome man I'm glad to hear that. And thank you!
Only if he knew how hard it was to snipe on other maps.
Johnisour hehehehhehehhehehhe
When this game goes live and scouts are
The same I will use this knowledge to my
Advantage.
Glad to hear it
Very helpful tips! I love how your channel is gears towards sniping only!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the channel content. I'm going to check your channel out too.
This really helped out a lot! 23 snipe kills my first match after watching this vid. I used to get 6 per march and 20 deaths LOL
Sniping is so much fun in bf1. I love it
Me too!
bullets don't go where you want them to go though
Kaon ikr
Bruno Rodrigues there's a thing called bullet drop off
Bullet drop... he spent like 2 whole minutes talking about it.
Hastyy ikr
This is going to be a rough adjust, LOL
Coming from COD yeah it is pretty rough
good guide. this is my first battlefield game and it's really blow me away. moved away from CoD, as the pc versions have been shit for a long time. i think the hardest thing to get used to is taking time to aim in this game. recoil, bullet drop, and the punishing nature of missing shots with bolt action guns and the dmr's in this game made me rethink my approach to aiming. no more twitchy spray gameplay!
Thanks man. And yeah, twitch sniping doesn't seem to work very well in Battlefield. I think that's more of a COD and CS:GO thing
honestly, I'd say that "Don't Panic" tip is extremely important and often understated by other RUclipsrs imo.
As an annual COD player I have dibbled in battlefield 4 and Hardlined but never could get into them properly, BF1 is the first I have really enjoyed and I'm now gonna purchase the pass. Here's that vid: ruclips.net/video/5-VlyxcngLE/видео.html And thanks!
Thanks for the tips and help. It really helped me man. I subscribed and liked cause this video was that helpful!
Cookie Imada I'll pass.
Some ones triggered wouldn't ya say xD
Trevor Berry Maybe. Lol

also, I ADORE Support Class. try it out, it's pretty fun, and you can get some long range gunning goin on.
nice. that's the sniper I been hitting mad shots with lol good fun
Shane P check out the video I made after using his tips
really is a great guide, very complete and well explained, thanks you for sharing it! :D
Helped me a lot! Very useful tips man... thanks a lot!
Glad it helped!
that was the best help I've seen so far thanks.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the info
I don't panic just trying to get better at sniping, since I haven't played battlefield since 1942 and 1943, those were the first two I believe.
Damn.. so how old are you now? like 75 or 80?
I feel you bro. I bought the game before few days because it reminds me of BF 1942. And I am struggling so anything which can help me is welcomed.
good commentary man
Thanks!
I prefer the SMLE MK III for a short range sniper, Russian sniper for medium range, and Gewer 98 for long range. SMLE is easiest to use, but not always effective. I always keep Russian and Gewer to 150 and SMLE to 75. Only go higher at long ranges/across map.
I absolutely love sniping in this game
Oh me too I am having withdraw symptoms waiting for it to come out!
The Average Sniper Same here! the amount of time i put into sniping in the beta made me a better sniper in BF4 :)
Sometimes I go prone at a vantage point(such as the top of the inclined rock between objectives G and D) and spot an enemy at who is prone at there vantage point(a random spot on the sand near objective A). Well thank you!
Amazing video man you should really have a lot more subs bro
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks!
C100 in bf4 love this game and that. Just never been into sniping but trying to start a bit cause I've already unlocked lvl 10 for assault and medic
Oh yeah I'm sure you will have some good, challenging fun on the sniper class.
RIP Cat.... :(
So sad :(
:(

you can get on top of the mountain between f and g by climbing a ledge on the f side. it's great for peaking over and destroying unsuspecting players trying to use the cliffs
Yeah lol I talked about that in the vid for like 2 minutes :)
+The Average Sniper lol no you can get higher on the mountain and actually be above the cliffs. maybe i missed the spot when you talked about this.
+The Average Sniper You Helped Me Snipe So Much In Battlefield Hardline And Battlefield 4. I Learned BF1 For Myself But I Couldn't Have Done It Without You. I Just Wanna Say Thank You! 3:05 OG Battlefield Sniper.
LOL yup
u deserve so much more man
Nice video, also nice on talking about the zoom stuff, no one talks about it and I was a bit confused
Glad it helped, and thanks!
This did actually help a lot thanks
Glad to hear that!
the clip at the beginning just savage😎
Glad you liked it :)
Thanks! This video helps me a lot
I just did 2 across the maps with 2 bullets.... THANK YOU!!!!
thanks bro I came from cod about 2 years ago since then I haven't played another war game other than bf
Same here man, same here
8:24 what does it mean when you see that light from the enemy right there?
Someone else is scoped in on their sniper rifle.
I agree. .....The gweher 98 sniper is really gr8 at long distance epically wen it comes to its bullet drop. ....but surprisingly I gt a high kid....like very high more with the Russian but my kills were most med range it's just I noticed u cocker the weapon faster or maybe cos I removed the bayonet I noticed u pull ur gun up faster wen I remove ur bayonet
I like the Russian 1895 because of the fast bolt action speed
thanks for the help I am only starting and level 6 and sniping level 16 and plus
Excellent guide, thanks.
Thanks for watching :)
REAL SNIPERS HATE THE CORE MODE, BUT WE LOVE THE HARDCORE MODE.
Hardcore mode is awesome too
Great video. I play it on my friends Xbox but am getting my own copy soon
Thanks! Bet you can't wait
Yea dude my hype is real
I am a shitty sniper and I have always been one on GTA 5 or Overwatch or Halo but whenever I try to play as a sniper on Battlefield 1 I do find a good spot for me to hide. This dude sounds like Toby Flenderson from The Office. 😂 but enjoyed your vid. Looking forward to more.
As a german, i like how he pronunces gewehr :D Thats really funny tho
Yeah I knew I was saying it wrong LMAO
you actually pronounced it really well in the beginning.
clean video thanks man!
I have the Russian 1895 sniper, SMLE MKIII infantry,SMLE MKIII Marksman,Gewehr M.95 infantry, and the Lawrence of Arabia's SMLE for scout which one is better?

Yeah I knew about the kill feed and I had heard about the sweet spot too but not in so much detail. Thanks!
Nice! I'm glad the video has inspired you to play more multiplayer. As for me, I haven't even played single player yet LOL
in regards to distance, you said we can adjust the scope , but how do you know how far away the target is? Do you just have to judge it with a guess? or is there a readout or something? thanks, I havnt played online yet , I'm still playing the story mode on xbone btw,
Thanks for the video! Good information😀
Thanks for watching :)
your tips helped me go from sucking at sniping to playing average. I am playing smarter thanks man.
Glad to hear that and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tips... I am kind of new to BF1
starryhornet863 xboxone same
I use the Russian 1895 Mrksmn is that good?
JoseRicoTacoNachoQuesadillaMondillaJones I use it but idk how to snipe lol
JoseRicoTacoNachoQuesadillaMondillaJones I usually just use the Gewer 98 marksman. It's a good bit of close, medium, and long range.
JoseRicoTacoNachoQuesadillaMondillaJones I use it to it looks the same
I don't get how in call of duty if you don't zoom in it doesn't go in a line. But if you zoom in it goes in a line.
Did you change your FOV? If yes, what is your FOV setting now?
Nope left it on default
The Average Sniper Ah thanks bro!
What system are you playing this on?
Cedars PC
Which variant of the Russian 1895 are you using?
Sniper
I just wish to have a good pc that can run this game over 60fps. Sniping in this game looks really fun! The graphics are gorgeous!
Yeah man I played on PC on 1080p at 120fps and it was amazing!
The Average Sniper Nice!
The K bullets also makes your sniper do good damage against sentries
I prefer the gewehr 98 sharpshooter, or if I'm feeling dmr, I'll go with the mondragon
I prefer the gewehr 98 sharpshooter, or if I'm feeling dmr, I'll go with the mondragon
That's true!
Great video!!
how do you keep the scope so steady for so much time, is there a setting i can make my scope steady automatically without pressing anything?
I just use the hold breath button. Nothing that I know of to do it automatically
alright :D
Does this weapon have the scope glare like the Russian 1895? I didn't get a chance to unlock it during the Beta =(
All sniper rifles with a scope will have a scope glare. That's Battlefield for ya
That's false. The starting ones don't have any glare ;)
+Garlaanx that's weird and doesn't make sense. But hey it's a Beta. We will see how it works in the full game.
Can't wait to have a choice of sights for the SMLE.
Me neither
U have helped me out a lot there thank you
Great vid. What kind of aim sensitivity do you like in sniper class? I think I have 55% on but thinking that might be too sensitive for long shots. Thoughts?
I prefer 52 sensitivity on XB1 and default zoom sensitivity
Great tips and video. Thanks
Viktor Johansson check out the video I made after using his tips
Thanks man!
how about how to set the class up? is it better to have click and hold for scope or click-click. how about mouse sensitivity as well
Click and hold is what I use on PC. Mouse sensitivity is completely up to you depending on how you play. Lower sensitivity for long range and faster for close to medium range.
thank you - I can't remember how I used to play the earlier battlefields - maybe I am getting old but I am having a harder time with battlefield 1 sniping lol
problem is when your new it takes a bit to acquire the G98
You unlock this gun at lvl 3. What do I use to get there so I can get the Gewehr?
I'm pretty sure the SMLE Mark three has the best velocity
What do you think the best sniper is for the operations mode? The gewehr sniper or marksman??
That's up to you. Either one works great
i'v played Battlefield since Battlefield bad company 2
The gaming Wolf me too
so when you scope in,can everyone see the glare or only the person you are aiming at ? cause ive seen snipers sniping a dude next to me and i can't see a glare until they aim at me, but idk
If they are close to you then they pretty much have to be aiming right at you for you to see the glare. If they are far away then more people can see the glare as they aim in your general direction.
The Russian Marksman is amazing
Lever action is so quick
Yeah but the bullet drop sucks :(
How do you do that animation where your guy would point his hand in a direction whenever he saw an enemy vehicle or Infantry.
Use the spot button. On console, it's the button right above the right trigger. On PC it's Q
as well as some easy long range sight lines
Yup true
Thanks this really helped
you're so good at sniping in Bf1!
the small cross-hairs screw with me so bad and I'm terrible with iron sights. the carbine is my perfect fit👌
I like the small cross-hairs but everyone has different preferences. Glad you like the carbine
