This clip seems to be a casualty of the drug culture of the late '60s. If the director had known then how rare Jimmy Reed footage would be we doubt he'd have given in to these live edited shenanigans. Regardless, this is very rare footage of the great Jimmy Reed and we can only be thankful it exists.
