I can’t swim and I fear the ocean but this summer we were at the beach in the water ( further than I would have imagined) we go to dog parks (private one & one we are use to and it’s always the same dogs ) I wasn’t a active person but now I am . 2-3 mile walks sometimes 4 or 5 and we go hiking
my baby girl changed my life. I really love her I didn't expect how much ❤ . The puppy stage was the hardest, I'd wake up in the middle of the night , cleaning up messes and so exhausted . after she was crate trained it was a lot easier . I love her coat , she's so soft like a blanket . and thankfully she loves to sleep in . we stay up late , wake up late. she definitely hates when I leave , which makes me more of a homebody 😂
I just lossed my Lucky babie's I miss him so much he was 11 1/2 he passed away on 10/28/2022 I had to put him to sleep because he was diagnosed with liver cancer and tumors on his liver he had been dignosed on 11/26/2022 and he wasn't eating and was throwing up blood and pooping blood so I knew it was time so Friday 10/28/2022 I put him to sleep so he doesn't suffer no more and my babies's was still so energetic and happy but not eating and pooping and throwing up blood 😭
You are so right about raising a husky puppy. It's HARD. It's worth it when you get to the other side, but they are DEMANDING! For anyone thinking about a husky, listen to the horror stories.....we aren't lying 😂

But I like to think that husky parents are the type A personalities who love waking up everyday and need to be challenged to the nth degree. That’s me, I need to wake up and have a everyone including my furry terrorists to expect me to bring my A game bc that’s what keeps me going in life.

Our husky has 3 German Shepherd friends. When we first brought Nova home, she immediately picked our biggest as her best friend. Siberian Huskies are amazing dogs!
We picked up our first husky back in July. Name him Nova as well. We just picked up one of his half-brothers last week, his name is Mika. Nova made a friend down at the end of the street with a German Shepherd mix named Ozzie, and Mika was just introduced to Ozzie a couple of days ago. Nova is 33/34 weeks old, Mika is 15/16 weeks old.
I also agree about their picky eating habits. I've never had a dog that was so nonchalant about meal time. No matter how creative I get serving up something I perceive would be delicious & nutritious.
It also makes it really hard to train them, when they are so non-food driven. Mine didn't care if I had food or treats. He won't do anything to 'earn' a treat. If he doesn't want to do it the only way is to physically make him do it. There is no coaxing or rewarding with treats. Not even table food. Took a long time to teach him sit and stay. And lots of patients and persistence. He had to learn that dad was more stubborn than he is, and that most of the time he isn't going to win, so might as well do it.

Your videos are very helpful. I agree about puppy hood but I'm retired so I could devote ALL my time to my Husky, Maxx. I crate trained him very easily by confining him in his crate overnight. I placed a squeak toy in there with him & when he woke up EARLY in the morning his squeak toy was my alarm clock. My biggest concern with Maxx is the recall command. Huskies are independent thinkers & if you call him when he has freedom off leash, forget about it. He's NOT coming although he may totally understand what you're asking of him. Since we live in a subdivision, the hazards are too great to permit this. My compromise has been walking him on his 50 ft. leash or giving him playtime in his godmother's HUGE fenced in yard. To see a Husky run full out is a thing of beauty. BUT...I caution you. A Husky, unlike other breeds are totally demanding of ALL your time. Luckily, I found two kennels to use when I have to be away from him that he likes. My exercise level is way up. I walk him 3X/daily, rain, sleet, snow, hot or cold. My next strategy? Get a tricycle bike to add to his exercise level. Love, love, love him. And a tip about their coats shedding. Get Greenies Skin & Coat additive for their food to silken their coat & alleviate heavy shedding. He has changed my life for the better & added quality years to my life!! All hail Huskies!!! 💘 💘 💘

Not sure I totaly agree with the sheding part. My huskies have 2 major times a year where they shed, but they don’t shed any noticeably amount inbetween this :)

oh also my husky is 10 months old and she’s still not potty trained, so that tracks 😂 she’s incredibly smart and can do all kinds of commands, but god forbid she pee outside reliably

What about 24 at a time!!!! Bro, I have two females that got pregnant within 2 months apart. One on purpose one by accident. Already had 3 adult huskies then Artemis had 11 and Samira had 9. My sons girlfriend has her at the house too. But we are steadily selling them to good homes. Trying to get down to four. But they are so cute!!!!

Yep. They're clinically insane lol. I live in New England where it's generally cooler. I have a Siberian husky and a husky/ Australian shepherd mix. They have TONS of energy. When I had only the husky, she needed lots of play. They're like teenagers. If they don't have something to keep them busy, they get bored and then get into trouble lol. I had to replace our backyard fence because she learned how to jump the old one lol
@@clescell6587 Mine is 3 legged and still escapes. She doesn't so much climb the fence anymore since her injury, but there's still no stopping her - and half the time she convinces my huge american bull dog to join her. Scares the neighborhood.

My husky is scared of new people he'd rather run away than get free pets. I blame it on covid as we got him during covid when we couldn't let him visit people or other dogs. But when we get home he's doing zoomies just to greet us.
You do you. Tall grass leads to insane amounts of ticks and mosquitos, which carry diseases, harmful to both dogs, cats, and humans. And living in Florida as he does, he has to be concerned about toads that can kill a dog in under an hour. Go troll somewhere else.

My husky only barks when she wants my attention And she only Howl when she was a baby thank God
