The model building on fire with the flashing red light interior was a complete surprise. I wasn't expecting to see that. So creative. Loved the fire engines, too. Sugoi. 👍

Thank you very much for precise report on our festival! I am a member of "Oka jokies" (from 37:27 on your movie). As you predict, our prototypes are on early time around from 150 to 120 years ago; aka Meiji era, almost equally as Victorian age. Our group name is named after the nickname of steam locomotives in that age "Oka Joki", which means "land steamer". There are very few "mass-production" model trains on that ages, thus most of our models are kitbash or from scratch.
As usual Japan takes it to another level!
The detailed intricacy of the dioramas and track layouts are spectacular. Wow!
