It seems to me that God already knows what is in our hearts. We pray to remind ourselves to follow the will of God as outlined in the Bible. A prayer therefore is an acknowledgement to ourselves that God is central in our lives. By praying we regularly remind ourselves of that fact. Regular prayer helps us to conduct ourselves in accordance with God's will. It is also an opportunity to acknowledge and feel the love of God in our blessings as well as order our needs and find strength in God to meet those challenges. I trust that whatever happens in my life, regardless of whether it is good or bad is a necessary experience I need to complete in my life's journey here. The bad things teach me humility so that when the good things happen I appreciate them and experience them with modesty and gratitude. Prayer is for us, to strengthen our faith and keep us on a righteous path. Just the thoughts of another struggling sinner. Take it or leave it.

My step dad and siblings all pick on me for not having the perfect prayer down.. but tbh .. it's hard to pray outloud when u know you're being judged.. I hope to someday have the courage to pray out loud

As a new Christian and looking at this now, my prayers wasn't nearly as sufficient as this but somehow in a room with the cold air blowing through my window, I prayed that I would need help to sort my own problems and as I finished, I suddenly felt warmer.

Jesus is the Truth. The only way to Heaven, to the Father. There is no more way, He is the only Way. Jesus is the Truth. The only way to Heaven, to the Father. There is no more way, He is the only Way. And i want to tell you that your religion cannot saved you, only Jesus, only the finished work of Jesus Christ in the cross can only saved you, He died for you, so you may receive eternal life by putting your whole trust in Him or faith in Him, surrendering your life to Him. I hope you seek Him. He's the truth and He can set you free man! That's the best gift you will ever receive, to receive Jesus Christ. Please do not hardened your heart to Him, open your heart to the one who really saves

Yes. You are God's child and have infinite potential. He was you to use your own words and find answers through prayer in your own way. He is as close as a prayer and will always listen.

Yes! actually that is closer to modern scholar's translations because of the incredible amount of resources to draw upon. Even the pope wants to change it for the Catholic denomination to something similar to what you suggest.

Yes, but we pray in the name of Jesus meaning we want to pray like he would pray, we would ask the things that he would want us to ask the father. The more we pray the more we can become like Jesus Christ
