The price helped me decide this everyone seems to run Invidia and it's a good product and sounds great. However Magnaflow has always had quality products and it's a little more quieter it doesn't have any drone and you can pick it up for half the cost online. Install took me 20 minutes if that very simple. Great video! That Invidia sure sounds nice!
The Magnaflow wrx/sti hatchback model is #16824.Yes it drones a little, mainly because of the hatch. The 15472 Is Turbo SEDAN Fitment. So I personally do not have experience with the sedan version, I have only heard it is quite loud. Hope this helps.
Judging from the video I think the 300 sounds a little deeper, smother, maybe better. I'm getting the Magnaflow placed next week. I doubt I will be disappointed. Cost helped me to decide. Think about it... 08 wrx, pro custom install of dp w heat shield (I already have), cat back w 2 magnaflow mufflers all for around $400- I think a good way to go.
I got one new off a forum member that changed his mind on what he wanted. I have seen them online for around 460 or so. Just keep looking they are out there.
yep both were stock with only catback exhausts. Most likely the Q300 version in the video you will only get by trade or used from someone as they dont sell it anymore =/. I have never been in a ride along but i hear the new version Q300 has quite a bit of drone for the hatch. (just fuel for thought) good luck to you sir
Both sounds really, really good, but the Q300 is better and sounds a little bit better (10/10 vs 9/10). Q300 is full 3" but Magnaflow does tapper to 2.5" (just like the COBB exhaust). If you are broke and want a very, very nice sound for cheap (you just plan to get a cat back) go Magnaflow (400$) but if you plan to go stage 2 or more go with Invidia Turbo Back (1500$). Also, I must add than the sedan sounds better, is louder, and got less drone than the hatch so sedan + invidia turbo back is the way to go !! (what I did)
my local magnaflow house makes 3" down pipes and has a 3" cat back system. im thinking of getting it. its made for an 11 but im planning on tweaking to fit my 10 wrx should be fun haha
@tenkese My buddy owns the blue 11' and he went through the same dilemma. He really wanted the Q300 but could not justify the new price tag and didn't want to wait around for a used one. So like you, found a great deal on a new Magnaflow and has not had any regrets since. Personally I would chose my Q300 hands down. But again I prefer a slightly louder deeper sounding exhaust. the Magnaflow is quieter than the Q300 and both have slightly different sounds. its all personal preference.
So, pro's and con's of exhausts?? Which takes your vote "whitesubaru1"? Ive always wanted the q300, but just came across a superb deal on the magnaflow. I like how they both have fat 3' tips.
Hahaha where I live it was the opposite, couldn't find any Q300, had to go with the Magna. Don't regret it, both are basically the same, except the Q300s sound are little sharper (not always a good thing with cops around tho).
whitesubaru1 ok cool. i thought the stock dp diameter was 2.5, and the mag flow cat back exhaust uses full 3 inch tubbing, did you have to use a converter?

I just checked around. Seems like prices have gone up. I did find one on eBay for 654 shipped brand new. The sedan version was cheaper.

Yes it bolts right up. This is what it sounds like with stock downpipe and mangnaflow Catback.

As far as I can remember we just bolted it up tight with a new 3" flat flange exhaust gasket.
