Honestly, I was a bit disappointed that they just abandon Becker’s crush on Hailey so fast. Not trying to say I ship them, i’m just saying that there could be potential about teaching a lesson (1) How to handle rejection from your crush for queer people and (2) How to say the right words to reject your friend that you’re not attractive for straight people. This lesson could help people handling this stressful situation, they can still be friends and nothing more. Plus I would rather have an interesting dynamic with a different type of love triangle about Becker thinking Hailey like her, then being jealous for her brother hanging out with Hailey more while Scott has no idea. The love triangle would be kinda different since it would be a Becker chasing after Hailey while she chase after Scott while Scott be clueless. It’s a interesting story with would have fun plot points rather than just a generic *“Will They or Won’t They?”* story for the rest of the season🤦♀️
I also felt like Scott×Kristine and Hailey×Becker storyline were rushed. A better way would've been for Becker to crush on Hailey for a while and later confess her feelings. Hailey rejects Becker and things become awkward for Hailey and Scott because his sister is heartbroken. Becker eventually gets over Hailey when Kennedy is introduced in a later episode.
Yeah the show just sorta seemed unwilling to do anything really interesting with its story. Like what you said with Becker being an interesting lesson on handling rejection but also with that subplot of hailey being worried she caused the apocalypse, they could have kept that as a really interesting mystery/conflict and maybe reveal something like future hailey is actually trying to correct the mistakes of her past and do the things she never did do but no it’s actually just “hailey created a super power source that the whole world uses and she never caused the robot invasion”. The show just seems so scared to take itself into interesting directions which is ironic because the plot is about taking risks and trying new things
I have an idea to not make it like Starco: Hailey shares a kiss and Hailey realizes that all she needed to do is kiss him to get him out of her system. That way, she can complete the list item and still keep her friendship with Scott.
She actually almost did that in the episode Kissed Opportunities but then realized she wants to kiss Scott cause she wants to, not cause some game made her.
I just hope this is a ship where the besties stay besties. Very unlikely but still. I don't like when there's a friendship that feels forced into romance.

You've hit the nail on the head for me. As much as I am enjoying the show, the just overly abundant in your face 'Hailey and Scott are destined to be! It is written!' is just really putting me off to it. Like, I'm kind of hoping that by the end of it all, Hailey and Scott realize they're better off as platonic best friends and that it doesn't need to be romantic. In fact, I think it would be hilariously amazing if Hailey completed that task list item by pure accident - Like, a Christmas episode and they get caught under the mistletoe, and she kisses his cheek, or maybe Scott does something so amazing and heartfelt, Hailey gives him a cheek kiss just because, and that actually completes it! Then Hailey's like, 'Wow, I blew that way out of proportion!' The only times I'm on board with childhood Bffs becoming a couple is when it's done in a natural way, and the characters are shown to have other previous relationships, and the show doesn't force it down your throat at any given second! Kim and Ron from Kim Possible was an amazing example of this troupe done right! But I digress. I also liked how you brought up What each person brings to the table - I legit was talking to my husband about this exactly. I do feel Hailey would need to have someone on her same level; maybe not in the same exact way, like her love of birds.. but someone who might able be into building intricate things. I heard about the whole love aspect from Cartoon Universe's video about the show and it was enough to keep me away from it. I was thinking about checking it out when it premiered on the Disney Channel but any desire that I might've had was gone after the video. I didn't like this love triangle scenario that I heard in the second episode. I did watch a good amount of the episode "Seas the day" which happened to be one of those shipping episodes. There was one funny joke but other than I'm still not into the arc where Hailey tries to get out of telling Scott that she likes him. I can't really judge it because I didn't really watch the full episode but I just don't care for this.
I didn't like Becker and Kennedy's dynamic tbh, they feel like a very generic rivals to lovers trope, and Kennedy's crush kind of came out of nowhere. The Hailey and Becker ship was way more interesting, and more relevant since it involved a main character. I feel like they just did that to avoid putting a LGBT character in the spotlight. After Owl House's cancellation, they're now being demoted to background characters.

I’m sorry fans, but I don’t ship these two, but I personally never ship scailey from the start, (I’m sorry fans but please don’t harass over the fact that I don’t ship scailey), I honestly knew that the kiss scott list item was going to be a red flag when it came to the writing and journey of the romance, and I feel bad for the animators and creators and fans about the show MIGHT end at season 1, but the idea for the love triangle in season 2 doesn’t give me any hope for these two, I knew it’ll go downhill like later seasons of ladynoir and starco journey, I thought the synopsis of the season 1 finale about that app alone was dumb, but it’s honestly worse that they added a new character conveniently to cause drama and hailey again bails her chance, it annoys me that she’ll give up on the list knowingly that the future depends on it, and let alone season 2 will hammer in the fact the they have to be together and will drag out the will they won’t they along with character derailment, the fact of them just doing the kiss and remain as friends is never really an option, so it is basically a forced romance like ben and kai
One of the main premises is the kiss, obviously the romantic writing will be generic at least during the first season due to the age classification.For now there are some decisions that the characters cannot make due to the implications on their behavior. That specific plot will move by itself in general, not by them. I see them as a couple at some point in the show, but they don't stay together at the end. All the show is working so that even if they don't stay together at the end, they will still be friends.
I think the show is good overall, but I do feel the length of season 1 is holding it back. Season 1 (along with the first season of both Hamster And Gretel and Kiff) was greenlit for 30 episodes. The relationship stuff feels more dragged out because of the showrunners (who are usually known for writing on episodic shows) having to come up with some way to keep the story going.
I love their cute moments, but now that you mention it, it definitely feels like they're going in a Starco direction. I really hope that doesn't end up being the case. 😅
No because this show is good, unlike Star vs the Forces of Evil. Also, Disney Channel loves its stereotypes. You get used to it. The main boy will always end up with the main girl unless they are related. The only cartoon I can think of where that didn't happen was Milo Murphy's Law. Milo dated Amanda. I hope that doesn't happen in Kiff. This show feels like a bit of a satire of the trope because Climate change will ruin the world if she doesn't kiss him.

I think it’s too early to declare Hailey and Scott the next Starco, considering all the love triangle potential and the possible drama has been quietly dealt with before any drama could actually happen. Becker had a crush on Hailey, but she moved on fairly quickly. Kristine didn’t act perfectly when she was trying to make Scott jealous, that much is true. Her two appearances after the break up have largely been civil and returned her to being nice, though. She may have lost her cool a bit when she heard someone else wanted to ask Scott out, but it’s a fairly understandable reaction. She’s under pressure from the reality show she’s competing in and was fresh off a break up- she still needed time to heal. And in her latest appearance, she’s still being very friendly with Hailey, and acts pretty nice to Scott in the minimal time they interact in the episode. I definitely agree I’d like the “Will they/Won’t they” wrapped up sooner rather than later. I also wouldn’t mind if they subverted expectations and Hailey and Scott don’t end up together. For my two cents, though, I do low key root for Hailey and Scott because they have good chemistry and plenty of good friendship moments. But beyond that, I think the show as a whole is fun- it’s not an earth shattering show, but it has enough charm and potential to keep me watching to see if they stick the landing. I mean, they introduce time travel, saving the world, and killer robots- there’s potential there for good serialized storytelling. Also, one side note- Catching Felines was confirmed to have been intended to be aired earlier on by the crew and was aired out of order for the show, hence why Hailey didn’t want to befriend Kristine despite having done so in Road Tripping, for what it’s worth.

I have a theroy, Hear me out, There are multiple Hailey and Scott characters coming from the future back to the past trying to hook up the both of them. The U.F.Whoah episode there was two agent that looked exactly like them. In the chubbles episode they proved they can get together by Thachter and Bailey. Im sure there are more examples, but these are the main ones. Maybe in future episodes, if im right, we could see them come from the future to try and split up the two because maybe it didnt quite work out. Theory 2, Hailey is the one behind the chaos bots. The chaos bots are trying to stop Hailey from finishing the list, but what is there were really trying to stop Scott and Hailey from kissing because in the future the kiss ruined their friedship or something across those lines. One last thing to say, This series has great potential because of the time travel aspect, but the way its being handled needs to be improved. Maybe we could get time travel like the Milo Murphys Law. What is so wrong with Starco?, Starco is and always will be one of my top favorite ship's, to me I didn't care if Starco was going slow or not because IRL that is just how lots of people especially for their age just like to do relationships, by talking it slowly... And although I do also love Lumity, it just felt kinda confusing at first because I loved everything that time she Luz asked her out but it was also like "they just meet about 6 episodes ago!"

Maybe in future episodes, if im right, we could see them come from the future to try and split up the two because maybe it didnt quite work out.

Hailey is the one behind the chaos bots.
The chaos bots are trying to stop Hailey from finishing the list, but what is there were really trying to stop Scott and Hailey from kissing because in the future the kiss ruined their friedship or something across those lines.
One last thing to say,
This series has great potential because of the time travel aspect, but the way its being handled needs to be improved. Maybe we could get time travel like the Milo Murphys Law.

This show was destined to fail it was a cheap attempt to copy what came before and make it more episodic rather than story driven the humor is dull the writing is bland and the animation is garbage this show is mid.
What is so wrong with Starco?, Starco is and always will be one of my top favorite ship's, to me I didn't care if Starco was going slow or not because IRL that is just how lots of people especially for their age just like to do relationships, by talking it slowly... And although I do also love Lumity, it just felt kinda confusing at first because I loved everything that time she Luz asked her out but it was also like "they just meet about 6 episodes ago!"

This show looks pretty mid. If any this looks like the next Adrinette, ffs Scott even fucking looks like Adrien (and is just as bland).
I honestly don't get why people dislike Starco velmetly.
I get that some may disagree with its execution but really I disagree. I liked the slowburn and how it went about despite some of its flaws.
Much better than how Lumity was handled. It felt too fast for me and kinda one of my low points for TOH.
Honestly I actually hope Scott x Hailey become the next Starco in terms of becoming one of my favorite ships.
I think the later seasons spending so much time forcing star and marco apart. than when they got together it felt rushed was the main problem.
I honestly can't see them being anything but really close friends.
