Karlovac, Croatia: There's always a plan B, the unexpected route

No trip is perfect, no matter how much you plan it, there will always be something that you don't take into account and for those situations I suggest you have a plan B.
During my tour of Karlovac, I encountered an unexpected challenge: a large part of the city was under construction. What at first seemed like an inconvenience soon turned into a unique experience. The closed streets forced me to seek out other places along less-travelled paths, revealing hidden corners I might not have discovered otherwise. I walked through quiet alleys, past old houses with fascinating architectural details and in the middle of it all I came across a newly restored Orthodox church dedicated to St. Nicholas that I could appreciate at leisure.
This is the first installment of what I was able to discover while the old town of Karlovac is under construction, which if all goes well, will be finished by mid 2025. For now, join me on one more tour of Karlovac where there is always a plan B, an unexpected tour.
