    Timestamps with fun facts
    2:52 Gyarados, Water/Flying type, First Gen #0130.
In the Pokémon series, Gyarados are a staple strong Pokémon, fairly simple we all know how this guy works. The fun part is due to its typing Gyarados is 4 times weaker to Electric attacks, so making its MH version weak to thunder makes sense. As for why it can induce paralysis I can’t quite say, it learns a lot of moves that could theoretically inflict it so it works out.
3:18 Blastoise, Water type, First Gen #0009
Blastoise is a big turtle guy with two large retractable cannons on its back used for blasting out high pressure beams of water. It was a starter Pokémon in its original appearance but that’s not really relevant to monster hunter. As for the Stun ailment, I’d assume getting hit by water jets that cleave through sheet metal would hurt. Being a water type it is also weak to Electric, but not as much as Gyarados.
    4:58 Aggron, Rock/Steel type, Third Gen #0306.
Large armoured Pokémon who eat dirt and earth, incorporating the metals into their shells. Aggron as extremely territorial and tough to the point where they consider forest fires intruders and will throw dirt and sediment at the fire until it dies which coincidentally tills the soil to keep plant growth up. Accidental good guy. Do keep in mind they’re giant monsters, do not pet wild ones. Stun ailment is obvious, look at it, and the fire weakness is because it’s metal.
    6:04 Metagross, Steel/Psychic type, Third Gen #0376
Metagross are tough, scary, hyper intelligent spiders who basically function like super computers. They can fly like UFO’s, are carnivorous, and are one of a group of Pokémon known as “Powerhouse Pokémon” or “Pseudo Legendary” Pokémon. Really strong Pokémon with base stat totals of 600 exactly, which is comparable to some Legendary Pokémon. There’s also other criteria but that’s not relevant for here. Due to their super computer-like brains they are savage, unforgiving, and ruthless combatants.
7:33 Magmar, Fire type, First Gen #0126
Magmar are strange duck-like creatures who usually live in volcanic regions. They could be based on a litany of Japanese yokai or folk creatures so I can’t really pin down which. Pretty basic in terms of Pokémon, that’s first gen for you, lot more vague. Also doesn’t really come up a lot in recent years lore or ecology wise.
    9:11 Scyther, Bug/Flying, First Gen #0123
Scyther is a horrifying bug with a lizard face and raptor feet that is adept at running and flying. Also it has scythes for hands. This monster hunter version here has six limbs, legs, arms, and wings, which in my head makes me think it should be an Elder Dragon, unless the actual insect wings are purely decorative protrusions for mating display. In the original series, Scyther can evolve into one of two Pokémon, Scizor or Kleavor. The fun part here is how all three of them have the exact same base stat total of 500 but each individual stat is shifted around and redistributed completely differently.
    10:39 Charizard, Fire/Flying type, First Gen #0006
It’s Charizard, we all love Charizard, let’s move on.
12:40 Primal Groudon, Ground/Fire type, Third/Sixth Gen #0383, Legendary, Primal Reversion Form
Primal Groudon is a stronger more ancient transformation Groudon was given in the sixth generation. This is how Groudon looked and acted back in ancient times because it’s the GOD OF THE LAND, they who created earth and raised the continents out of the sea and has constant beef with the lord of the sea, Kyogre. Groudon originated in the third generation but to be technical, Primal Groudon is a sixth generation design like now Glavenus is fourth gen MH but Acidic Glavenus is fifth gen.
14:35 Galarian Zapdos, Fighting/Flying type, First/Eighth Gen #0145, Legendary, Regional Variant
Galarian Zapdos is a regional variant of Zapdos, or to be more accurate, a distant cousin from a different branch on the evolutionary tree. Actual evolution, not the Pikachu to Raichu evolution. Galarian Zapdos cannot produce electricity at all, they simple run so fast that the sound of their feathers rubbing together makes a crackling noise like electricity. Despite being a whole new animal it shares a dex number with original Zapdos.
    16:24 Noivern, Flying/Dragon type, Sixth Gen #0715
Noivern are cave dwelling bat dragons who use echo location to navigate the dark. Also they shoot sound blasts from their ears like boomboxes.
    18:27 Garchomp, Ground/Dragon type, Fourth Gen #0445
Like Metagross, a Powerhouse Pokémon. Giant sand shark dragons who dwell in caves and mountains, adept at burrowing and for some reason can fly at Mach 2. As sharks they have rough skin so punching it would probably cause bleeding, yea. As a Dragon and Ground type, they are VERY weak to Ice.
20:17 Terrakion, Fighting/Rock type, Fifth Gen #0639, Legendary
Based on one of the three musketeers (even though there was four of them). Terrakion is a strong hearted defender and behemoth of a tank, striking with heavy blows as the biggest member of the Swords of Justice. Has a very dopey face.
    21:56 Lugia, Psychic/Flying, Second Gen #0249, Legendary
Lugia, a master of sea and storm but not the god of it. Doesn’t really do a lot, it was added pretty late in development. Only reason it’s psychic and not water is because at the time psychic was a broken type and they wanted kids to think Lugia is cool.
    23:40 Tyrantrum, Rock/Dragon, Sixth Gen #0697
Tyrantrum is a dinosaur brought back from a fossil. It’s thought that in ancient times it was covered in white feathers which were lost during the fossil reviving process. The only remnants of these feathers are its beard and neck collar. The reason it can inflict so many blights in MH is because Tyrantrum learns all of the elemental biting moves as well as has the ability Strong Jaw which makes them stronger.
    25:41 Venusaur, Grass/Poison, First Gen #0003
Smelly frog plant. Learns a bunch of powder and spore moves which it ejects out the flower, hence the ailments.
    26:58 Rayquaza, Flying/Dragon, Third Gen #0384, Legendary
God and protector of the sky and ozone layer and also kind of the earth itself. Rayquaza eats meteors that enter the atmosphere and also gets Groudon and Kyogre to stop fighting to prevent the planet from dying.
28:48 Entei, Fire, Second Gen #0244, Legendary
An unknown trio of Pokémon perished in a fire involving the Brass Tower in the Johto region. It is thought Lugia is the one who stirred up a storm and struck the tower with lightning, whether it be purposeful or not. Ho-oh, the rainbow Phoenix, came down and blessed those three Pokémon and rebirthed them into new stronger bodies, one of which is Entei. They don’t do much past that, they kinda roam around and are strong. Entei in particular likes fire.
    30:11 Palkia, Water/Dragon, Fourth Gen #0484, Legendary
That is the god of space. Like the concept of space and dimensions and all that, that’s this guy. Controls and maintains space. Whhhh-
    31:50 Dialga, Steel/Dragon, Fourth Gen #0482, Legendary
God of time. We have the gods of space and time. And that’s not even all of them, we have a lot of gods of [blank]. Palkia is water because it’s also representative of liquid while Dialga is solids. Their third, Giratina, is likely gas. All three are the direct children of Arceus, actual GOD GOD. Like CREATION god.
33:06 Primal Kyogre, Water, Third/Sixth Gen #0384, Legendary, Primal Reversion
God of the ocean, made and protects and controls it, beefs with Groudon now and then, Rayquaza stops them, primal reversion is it reverting to its strongest state cause angry
    35:41 Farfetch’d, Normal/Flying, First Gen #0083
Farfetch’d is a duck carrying a leek or green onion. It’s based on an old Japanese saying, “a duck comes baring green onions” which is something so lucky and strange it’s seemingly impossible. Too lucky and convenient. A far fetched idea. Farfetch’d were almost hunted to extinction in Kanto because they tasted good and came with a leek.
36:57 This Entei is based on Shiny Entei. All Pokémon have a shiny variation which is just a rare recolour for the sake of being a rare recolour. That’s it.
Personally I’ve never been a major fan of Pokémon turned MH because it takes away from the world Pokémon has built and how its natural world functions which is a topic I don’t see go around a lot. Either way, I enjoyed the art and I enjoy talking about Pokémon here

MH Charizard probably secretes oil from its tail and sets it alight by scraping its tail spikes over the ground, sort of like Glavenus.

The Groudon design reminds me of Akantor and Ukanlos. Wouldn't that make it a flying wyvern like them?

i beleive the monster weakness is based on the pokemons type weakness cause metagross is indeed weak to fire
