▼Synopsis
Ken Matsudaira acts as three characters! A masterpiece period show! The beautiful swordsman Yawata Hatokuro, created by the maestro of Gorakujidai novels, Kiichiro Yamate, kills evil guys with his two swords!
A mysterious swordsman called Hatokuro Yawata (Ken Matsudaira) who appeared from somewhere with white pigeons is actually Naotada Ii, the lord of Hikone Han. He was told that he had an older brother of twin by his mother on her deathbed. Hatokuro pretended to be a citizen in Edo and searched for his brother. However, in Edo, Murasaki Gumi, led by the mysterious Murasaki had power and used it as they like. One day, Hatokuro saved Okyu whose office-worker father was killed from Sanjuro Akaseki of Murasakigumi. It brought about a fierce fight between Murasaki and Hatokuro. What is the identity of Murasaki!?

14 : 30 mins in so far and see the similarities to Lone Wolf And Cub . Immediately I recognised the ssme music and tense musical moments . Very enjoyable . Love Samurai movies . Zatoichi series and movies are also gold . 💪
This is like a good old fashion western from the 70ies. It was still a nice movie to watch.
Spaghetti Western ?
I suppose it's arguable which genre influenced the other first, but there's no doubt that jidaegeki films spawned some westerns. The Magnificent Seven was an adaptation of Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. Sergio Leone argued the point but eventually settled a lawsuit alleging that Fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More were adaptations of Kurosawa's Yojimbo.

Really impressive: The baddies patiently waiting for the hero to slowly draw his swords. Must really be something to be slaughtered by him... 😂
and always waiting that he kills his opponent in front of him before attacking, never attacking from the back when he is surrounded , always attacking one by one ... Samurai movie choregraphy at its worse.
@@oinossolo6219 And a *very* long way from the final fight in "Sword of Doom" where the opponents are hacking at everything from everywhere, slipping in blood... Obviously one can't do that in serialized tv shows.

The same actors keep showing up. I guess Japanese Hollywood had all those costumes and sets available so they made good use of them. Right in the opening scene were two familiar faces we've all seen in the Shogun series. I don't know where Ken Matsudair found the time from playing the Shogun to do this movie. He looked boss with that white kimono and long hair. 👍👍👍
