I dot know if anyone knows this or not but her saying Aishiteru is a very very very big thing not even married couples in japan use it often (or so I hear) it is the highest form of telling someone you love them so rather than just saying I love you to nagisa I see it as her proclaiming her, her soul mate (yes I am a sap thank you very much :P)

This is historic love story anime I've ever watched! All the bad, funny, happiness, slice of life things are just perfect for me... I like the classics things. This anime has deep meaning Story. And watched the happy ending, Shizuma confessed and said aishiteru is a strong word of love... Not anybody be able to say this word in Japan not only if you found your second half. I just love this. I wish they consider to make the season 2.
I don't usually like happy endings because they're not true (or they don't last) but Shiuzma and Nagisa make such an amazing duo that I can't disagree. They also suffered so much-especially Shiuzma that it was gratifying to see this ending on the anime.

My heart still melts during the scenes where Shizuma blushes and told Nagisa that she just acted on her whims to snatch Nagisa away and the final part where they kissed each other deeply while falling down to the ground
at the end of the series, i cried like an idiot for several minutes... (I'm grown man) when shizuma told her, that she loves her.... sh*t was rough -__-
This is how you know you truly love someone you willing to give up your happiness just to see them happy. You know it means more for them to be happy then you to be selfish, yes it will hurt but seeing them happy will bring not only you happiness but the people around you. It better to try and fail then not to try at all (we all could see how it effected not only the but people around them.) For life is to short to not give it a try. This is one mega reason i love this anime! 💕

After remembering this scene, I've decided to write something where TamaoxNagisa were chosen as Etoile, Shizuma arrives after and leaves with Nagisa nonetheless. It'd be interesting to see Tamao alone as Etoile and, in some way, the same situation of Shizuma.
And still I'm so sorry for Tamao and Yaya. It isn't a happy ending, it's just a beautiful, undescribable sketch of how love works. Especially with lesbians, women can shoot souls sometimes so deep, it's just beautiful this anime.

I want a sequel season with new characters but of course with most of these characters still in it. It will take please 2 years later, with new main characters but also with returning characters. And towards the end of it or in an OVA, when Nagisa graduates and Shizuma reveals she is moving to Hawaii for something like taking charge of a new branch of her family’s business or whatever, Shizuma proposes to her since same sex marriage is legal in America. Course if Japan finally legalizes it like right now that moving thing won’t be necessary so Nagisa won’t have to leave her country.
I act like shizuma sama irl always full of secrets, not a cold person but a heart that’s broken from the past and can’t move on but in need of someone to help fix my broken delicate heart made of glass, choosing to avoid events that I’m needed in, also the fact that after being broken I have changed a lot. Boy I need some help tbh but the lord knows I don’t enjoy socializing face to face but like texting writing a conversation is fine.

As much as i love this anime..not quite a happy ending (happy for nagisa and shizuma..but not for tamao, who loses nagisa to shizuma, or for miyuki who is still forced into an arranged marriage) ..all the more reason for a second season..whether or not it'll happen is unknown..still a fairly popular anime as far as i can tell even 6 years later..i don't see why they shouldn't start negotiating a second season.

My feelings are mixed. For the most part, I'm happy for Nagisa and Shizuma. But a sliver of me wants to look at Tamao and understand her feelings as well. She knew it wasn't true love between them, and yet she kept telling herself otherwise. I feel sympathy for her as the person who must let go of another because there is someone else who is a better match. I hoped in the end, Tamao found someone who could return her feeling sincerely.
