Do the codes work in a hacked Japanese version of the game? I have an Omega Zero ROM hack of the game and it is in Japanese. So i was wondering if the codes would work on something like that too
I personally use MyBoy! on android for gba emulation. VBA was always hit or miss for me when it came to GameShark. Certain versions would or would not run certain roms, and getting gameshark to work was a pain. You're going to have to experiment.
Are you playing the japanese version of the game? These codes were made only for that version, and are you inputting the codes as gameshark? There are multiple versions of roms. Some codes were made for older versions of the game, so if you're playing a newer and updated rom the codes might not work.

and what emulator did you use
I used the My Boy! emulator for android here, but the codes should work on most emulators. VBA is probably the best gba emulator on pc.
