My favorite easy and quick dinner for over a year now has been Cambria Joy's shrimp bowls! Just shrimp cooked in pan with garlic and chile lime seasoning and put in a bowl with rice, mango, avocado, lime, cilantro. So delicious and balanced! Extra easy because I always have shrimp in the freezer, it defrosts pretty quick and they cook up in like 5 minutes.
Some of my favorite meals that my mom makes are Shepherd's pie, parmesan crusted pork chops, and stuffed chicken you just stuff it with stuffing and put gravy on it and serve it with mashed potatoes it's so good. Or a pot roast in the crock pot is really good to but like my favorite simple go to summer dinner is chicken salad sandwiches with veggies on the side
Love watching you cook...btw that dish(pasta) and even the sandwich looked so delicious. So happy to hear you are having some great feeling days to do things around the house. Thanks for sharing with us and continue to feel better!!!
Thank you so much for all of this! (The food was really delicious…or at least as delicious as food can be for me rn. Lol) I’m sooo glad to have good streaks too!🙏🏻 thanks for being so kind joy!!🥹🫶🏻
Loved the vlog ❤ also The Defined Dish Zuppa Toscana ….. sssssooooooooooo good. My husband and toddler will devour an entire pot. It’s one pot and easy to make!! I’ve never frozen it but I’ve heard a lot that it freezes well
Hey Nikki 💓 you look so good! I can't believe you're almost there! I love your cooking always :) I hope you and your family are doing well love ya friend ❣️
Love the update and video- seeing you feeling a bit better! My thoughts on breastfeeding are biased by my own experiences for sure - but I exclusively breastfed my 3 children. I never could pump much and it was never easy. So many latching on problems, blocked milk ducts, bleeding in the very beginning with my first and 2nd; but I just had it in my mind that this was it. It was going to work and it was my only option (mentally). My breastfeeding years are long behind me and I cherish now the memories of that time with each child as some of the sweetest I have ever experienced in my life. ❤❤❤
We make homemade hibachi. I make brown sugar carrots as a side, sautéed zucchini and onions with peanut oil and then add soy sauce at the end. For the chicken, I cook in peanut and olive oil then add soy sauce and teriyaki at the end. I also do Joshua Weissman's $1 fried rice and double the sauce part. We eat it with purchased yum yum sauce. My daughter loves the carrots, chicken and fried rice if we go easy on the ginger.
Talking to a Lactation Consultant is a GREAT idea. I think also a PT or Pelvic Floor PT would be helpful….I know the issue isn’t in your pelvis, but they specialize in all things pregnancy, postpartum, etc. She helped my neck and my shoulder SO much. I would also recommend practicing with Dan, Lie on your side, put you pillows all around you in the most comfortable way, make sure your neck is comfortable, then maybe use a doll or stuffed animal and have Dan bring it to breast level, roll a blanket behind baby’s back and position them, during this time you should keep your neck neutral and resist the urge to “help” Dan. If you can do this comfortably, and train yourself not to strain your neck, I think you could breastfeed more comfortably.
This whole comment is a combo of overwhelming AND helpful! Lol yes tho I agree with you! I actually am seeing a pelvic floor therapist in the next week or two hopefully!🙏🏻 thanks for all of this!
That’s awesome! I’ve also struggled with neck pain/shoulder pain, and breastfeeding so I’ve learned some work arounds. Even if you just breastfed once a day or every other day, your baby would still get the immune benefits of the baby saliva to nipple feedback loop. It’s super interesting. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4556682/ @@NikkiPhillippi
My cousin made a delicious Zucchini soup. Just load it up with fresh veggie, zucchini chunks, different colored cherry tomatoes, onions, ground meat, and maybe squash. It’s so hearty and juicy. I love it and can’t stop eating it.
Hi mind blown because I always wanted to make extra sauce but didn't know how to freeze it. Sans noodles 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 My husband doesn't like tomatoes but does enjoy saucy pasta dishes ---so tomatoes will be used in the recipe 🙌🏻
Oh and a meal my family enjoys is sliders with ground turkey and fries & a salad. Unrelated but kinda ..my Woman's Pastor suggested making dinners at home extra special to promote eating dinner at the table together (great for family bonding -when possible of course) Note by extra special I mean put music on to match the "vibes" of dinner ex: Italian food = olivie garden music 😍
This makes my heart veryyy happy! I love when you can share something you think isn’t a big deal but someone else never thought of it! Lol thanks for letting me know & happy cooking!☺️
I'm glad you are feeling better! I feel like the best exercise to do during pregnancy is housework! I'm around 23 weeks and feel so good after doing the dishes and clean the kitchen...lol
Currently in the thick of morning sickness but I ate a Rueben in bed last night… only dinner idea 😂 it sounds bad to me today but last night it hit the spot!
Dude it’s rough out here as a sick pregnant lady!😭😭😭 thanks for the suggestion! I’m not even positive I know what’s on a Reuben?! I’ll have to look it up….good luck today girl! One day at a time!🤢🫣
My favourite go-to are: chicken gyros, maple syrup chicken and potatoes skillet, kimchi fried rice, taco soup Definitely agree with the surreal feeling of seeing your baby for the first time! Thought I was the only one! Rationally, I have always known that inside a pregnant belly there is a baby (duh! I wasn't raised under a rock!), but emotionally it's only when I gave birth that I could fully grasp it at a visceral level! WOW! THERE IS a baby inside a pregnant belly! 😲 It was so mind-blowing to me that, when trying to describe the feeling to my husband, I could only describe it as a miracle. I was an atheist my entire life (and so was my husband) but giving birth and motherhood in general made me think of life in such a different way that it drove me close to God. 2 and a half years later since the birth of our first and we now go to church every Sunday as a family ❤👨👩👧👧🙏

I cant believe you're 31 weeks already! Seems like just yesterday you told us you were expecting!
Dude. Kinda crazy huh?!? Dan and I always joke though that OTHER peoples pregnancy’s always FLY by! Lolol 😭🫶🏻

You should paint the piano an unexpected pop of red! I’m obsessed with that in kind of farmhouse designs.
I love the new stove/oven! Nostalgic feeling to it.
