I think you should use the wooden one and the pneumatic one. The wooden one can compact the sand so it's not loose and then with the vibrator lookin thing you can get it real tight. It kinda makes a mess when using the virbator only.
"But before that I wanna show you guys something!" _Ooh cool, I wonder what it is_ "I have a new pounder, which is this..." _Wow sweet looks cool_ "It's a pneumatic pounder!" _Hey neat! Alright, I know I’m “late to the party” here, but I’d like like to give my take on the pounder issue from the perspective of a sound designer: it does seem like the pneumatic pounder does compress the sand quite a bit better, as you said, and the “pound sound” is still very present, however, my one gripe with it is that right before you begin compacting, there is a nasty pressurizing sound that is at the same volume as everything else. It’s extremely loud and out of place, as well as the fact that it legitimately startled me as I was wearing headphones. It’s not a super big deal, but if you could consider keying the volume of the footage when this sound occurs to lower, then go back up when pounding. I’m not sure what editing software you use, but I do know that in premier, it’s extremely easy and makes a difference of ~5 seconds.
The pneumatic one still has the calming sound! :) just the rush of air is a little startling but you can always just cut that out. I’m guessing the pneumatic one will do the job way better and much easier so just keep using it!
hi,presstube its me one of your fan i have been watching your videos for a year and i can not stay without it even a day nice work keep it up you will reach 5 million subscribers god bless you for your hard work
Loved the pneumatic pounder it made a better satisfying sound and I love bowling pin I also like how you make all of your molds go from scratched up to shiny and smooth that is my favorite cast yet I think you should do a bowling ball next
Your skills are absolutely amazing. I have noticed in a few of your videos that you like to push your crucible's limits to the max. I am surprised you can make such large casts without spilling, with the crucible being that full.
Love the mirror finish on this great job and well done on all your hard work ben whoever wins this pin is a lucky person. I like either pounder your own one or the pneumatic in my opinion the pneumatic one is better because there was no imperfections in the detail unlike the thor hammer. Id also like to see you cast a pan like a frying pan or another type of pan and actually cook with it.
Ben I believe you should use whichever pound, you feel is most comfortable handling that would be most appropriate for you use, while undertaking your future projects. Good Luck for the future endeavours 🍀 👍🏻.
Greetings from Tunisia, the satisfying pounding sound still good a little louder but good ;) and the pneumatic pounder seems to work perfectly keep it up brother
Love your channel. One of my favorite metal casting youtubers. You should do the PUBG frying pan at some point. Include the PUBG logo in the pan like the key chains but way bigger. Also the level 3 helmet from PUBG on a large scale would be awesome. Thanks for all the great vids and keep up the awesome work you do!!!!
I think you should use the pneumatic pounder from now on. I've use one before, and nothing beats them. They pack much tighter, and you your risk of developing carpal-tunnel syndrome is significantly reduced with a pneumatic pounder. I used a lathe to build my first pounder in shop class in 1998, and I used it for 10 years until a friend showed me his pneumatic pounder he used for casting metal moldings. I bought one a day later, and it's lasted me about 10 years.
Wow. Ive been trying to win a Sword or Blade but that Bowling Pin would be Awesome to display next to my 300 game trophy! 1st ever 300. Very cool. Love ur casting videos n the different machinery. And of course The Shredder!!!! Thank u for ur amazing videos!
Pneumatic pounder works much better. When you have the time you really should do an ASMR compilation of you pounding the dirt. It’s so relaxing. Choice between bowling pin or $25 bowling pin hands down. That pin turned out nice.
Would it be possible to post the link to the shop where you bought the pneumatic pounder? I would like to buy one. Thank you and greetings from Germany!
The new pounder scared me when you first turned it on
Spooky Person same here.. i was oh wtf.. hahhahaa
I love you're profile pic
Striker- ZQ thank you
Me too....
I hope in the Future Ben cuts the audio when the pounder starts up
If the pneumatic pounder does the job better, then you should use it, just my opinion, :-)
I agree it still makes the satisfying sound😄
Jennifer Brewer yeah that probably the best
New pounder looks like a heavy duty vibrator
Riley B that’s what I thought
It is, if you’re brave enough
Same
Riley B lol😂😂
my dog needs a link
Congrats on hitting 2M subs!
Woah 2 year and no replies

I agree
The real name for that "vibrator lookin thing" is "rivet buster." He is using a tamper attachment.
Chris Beck It’s not a vibrator.
alan30189 and?
Chris Beck “And” what? Don’t be a dork.
Who wanna see a bowling ball
A hole bowling game😀

Edit: man his camera does an amazing job on auto focus on that glowing red furnace!!
The pneumatic pounder looks better, i think you should keep it ^^
Yes, it pounds it very well °~°
I’m gonna get your cool New pin for me
This is AWESOME! I have a bowling pin collection. This would be a really cool addition
That Pneumatic pounder scared the shite out of me. I was busy filling out the gleam thing while listening to you talk.
Well not only did it scare but it pounded the shit outta me. Rekt date
Make a bowling ball of gold to be the complete set.
Good idea
A solid gold bowling ball would look cool, but I don't think it would be a good idea because it would be super fragile.
@@aidanyelsma7762 And heavy. Bowling balls are heavy enough as it is, add gold and oh boy...
1st the ball would be really really really heavy
and 2nd it would be very very expensive
5:40 When the cat looks up hes like "yep and I'm died"
I'm totally fine with the pneumatic one, but dear god, please cut or edit out the rush of air
its not a big deal get over it
@@lucky43113 It's scary TBH, but thats our opinion, we have ours, and you have yours, so please don't be rude about it.
Yea with headphones in made my ears feel funny ... i have an inner ear disorder maybe thats why lol
Loud as hell, almost jumped every time
It scared me and I'm.not even using headphones
I find it very admirable that you made a completely seperate channel just for that 20% of your fans! really cool of you!
I dont really care what you use whatever you want to I also think that it is awesome what you are doing for the Netherlands and Belgium speakers
I really like your videos!! you are a true artist!!! somebody needs to do a museum of all your masterpieces!!

Use whatever is easier for you. Its wonderful that you want to let us choose, but you are the one doing the work and entertaining us.
Also Thanks from Canada for speaking English in your videos!
Yo I'm Canadian too

Dude u should try and make a metal bottle! Those thermos style ones and then use a vacuum chamber for the insulation layer.
Idk why but when your scooping the aluminum from the furnace it's so satisfying ❤️🔥
W BELGIUM ♥️♥️🇧🇪🇧🇪
Beautiful Video🤤🤤
Very nicely done. The pneumatic pounder works really well.
@ 5:46, beautiful cat!!

What is the music at 5:26 ?
I found it lol : Expanding by Johan Borjesson
Polished really well. From the looks of it I'd say the air hammer is best for compacting the sand.
Awesome channel who love this channel hit like
I love it
I came here for the bowling pin, fell in love with that sweet, sweet pounder..... I need one.
Now u must make an aluminium bowling ball
Melissa Mitchell and he needs to make 8 more bowling pins

The satisfying pounding sound is still present even with air presser. 👍 It’s OK by me which ever one you use
Satisfying pounding sound is still there, but the rush of air sound makes me triggered.

Another great video, I am sure that the pneumatic pounder is easier to use and with less fatigue of the arms and shoulders

That has to be the best bowling pin I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does degassing device is just a piece of steel tube with some holes on the surface of the tube?
That's amazing. You have some great skills there.

What do you do with the left over sand from after you scap it off? And what about after you cast in it can you reuse the none burnt sand?

how do you clean the molten metal off ur tools? the spoon and the degassing tool?
I love watching you work it's so satisfying and the out come WOW!!! Maybe make something geared more towards girls🎀

The pneumatic pounder does the job, has the satisfying noise, I think you should keep it plus i think is easier for you to make casts
What is degassing, and how does it work?
Hi ich will dir mal sagen das du das echt toll machst. Und deine ganze Mühe die du in diesen Kanal steckst ist Wahnsinn. Du hast echt was drauf.
Lol that reaction of your cat when u fire up your furnace 😂😂
Thanks for working so hard only for us , love u keep making such great videos
YAY hes back to showing the sanding.
How do you get the metal off the degasser, skimmer, and crucible once it’s hardened? Are they Teflon coated or something?
What sand do you use?
I know it’s green sand but where did you buy sand that is so fine?
How do you clean the cup that your pour the aluminum from?
I was just curious, what's your advice on the best starting foundry and equipment to use.
Would it be possible to post the link to the shop where you bought the pneumatic pounder? I would like to buy one. Thank you and greetings from Germany!
Getting better and better
I want to see a gengar molding from Pokemon I bet it’ll look epic!
