I think you should use the wooden one and the pneumatic one. The wooden one can compact the sand so it's not loose and then with the vibrator lookin thing you can get it real tight. It kinda makes a mess when using the virbator only.

Alright, I know I’m “late to the party” here, but I’d like like to give my take on the pounder issue from the perspective of a sound designer: it does seem like the pneumatic pounder does compress the sand quite a bit better, as you said, and the “pound sound” is still very present, however, my one gripe with it is that right before you begin compacting, there is a nasty pressurizing sound that is at the same volume as everything else. It’s extremely loud and out of place, as well as the fact that it legitimately startled me as I was wearing headphones. It’s not a super big deal, but if you could consider keying the volume of the footage when this sound occurs to lower, then go back up when pounding. I’m not sure what editing software you use, but I do know that in premier, it’s extremely easy and makes a difference of ~5 seconds.

Love the mirror finish on this great job and well done on all your hard work ben whoever wins this pin is a lucky person. I like either pounder your own one or the pneumatic in my opinion the pneumatic one is better because there was no imperfections in the detail unlike the thor hammer. Id also like to see you cast a pan like a frying pan or another type of pan and actually cook with it.

I think you should use the pneumatic pounder from now on. I've use one before, and nothing beats them. They pack much tighter, and you your risk of developing carpal-tunnel syndrome is significantly reduced with a pneumatic pounder.
I used a lathe to build my first pounder in shop class in 1998, and I used it for 10 years until a friend showed me his pneumatic pounder he used for casting metal moldings. I bought one a day later, and it's lasted me about 10 years.
