Ikr, I don't get the people tearing their hair over it, I really don't. It has the same brutality and the same humor as the game. The only minus I see is the bad jokes and they're not that bad.

that death scene makes me feel like weve known paulo for several seasons, and hes made a heroic sacrifice to save the only friends he has which i suppose is true, but for a one off character, it really makes you feel for the bastard
Makes perfect sense that Paulo is such a fanboy about The Prophecy. The hope that such a prophecy brings is probably the one thing that kept him motivated to fight for his survival in the sewers.
Paulo feels a lot like a DOORS refrence with Paulo being El Goblino, Claude being Bob, and Paulo's laugh being very similar to El goblinos laugh. "Ehehehehe"
