I really need to get Plasticity, paid edition, as I just saw a feature or function I didn't know existed and it was amazing. The part where the plane is duplicated down multiple times for the "pistol grip" of the SMG and then it is made solid with what I assume is a Hotkey I think is a really great feature. Each time I see this software used I know I need to learn it. I love my 3DS Max but this Software looks like it "fits" my style. Trust me, I know it sounds wierd but I went through 3 or 4 different 3D Software Packages until I found one (3DS Max) That just fit me and meshed well and I learned 3D. I almost gave up even learning after 2 or 3 years of constant failure. So knowing something works for YOU is huge. Not every software fits every person. Yes, they're all tools and all do generally the same thing ...I get it ...but some software just feels like a natural extension of my creativity. Cheers! Stay Healthy and Stay Sane!
Its Loft function. Normally its used to smooth join two surfaces together, but if you put many curves between start and end surface it will create a smooth transition between all. It is a staple function in every Nurbs or Cad based software. Just keep in mind in Plasticity lofting between surface and curve is not possible, it needs to be either surface-surface or curve-curve, but you can extract any edge as curve with simple hotkey and work with that afterwards.
there is a loft in 3dmax and it works perfectly, especially in conjunction with the curve editor, which allows you to get crazy results

в 3dmax есть loft и он работает отлично, особенно в связке с редактором кривых, что позволяет достягать безумных результатов
Great, I still need to finish the mech, but these new chapters are amazing, you are covering so many parts of hard surface modelling in placticity 🎉
Hi Arrimus thanks for all the videos on Plasticity, would you consider making a demonstration on how to model a bicycle or motorcycle frame? thanks!
Very Nice, because I already own the course and now I am getting this amazing update!
Great❤
At 6.06 the pistol grip is shown with a ribbed surface running down the curve, how did you achieve this?
Been really debating whether I should download plasticity or a blender addon like boxcutter
Is Plasticity as light as Blender when it comes to performance?
Hello author, do you have any desire to create a channel for creating spaceships, orbital stations, etc. This is a very beautiful and relevant topic, and there are very few talented authors like you and there will be very beautiful models.
I think i missed the news but why Plasticity over any other 3D modeling Software, whats different about it?
Not much really, its a new Nurbs based software with powerful solver kernel (Parasolid, used in many industry CAD programs), very easy interface, stable and fast, some clever functions and affordable perpetual licence. It is not a program for everyone, dealing with Nurbs is different than polygonal, for example not always can patch holes you would just create a n-gon over. Also you would have to fix topology after export if you want to use the model in anything other than rendering/animation. There is also issue that most operations are destructive unlike Max stack or Blender's modifiers.
