Larry was absolutely one of the greatest guitarists of all time, and the most versatile, his talent had no bounds…A wonderful man as well. RIP Larry Coryell. 😢😊😅
At about 4:15 on the time bar, Larry Coryell shows why he is in the history books. Anyone that misses this portion for the next several minutes and does not understand, is simply in denial, and needs to do their homework, and start listening to many other musicians...you will eventually see why Lary Coryell is such a consummate master, like very few others.
great guitare technique, but I think the harmonies are not well respected. But I consider larry very good when he played with mac laughlin et al di méola, in guitar trio.
Wow I see a lot of shit talking here but when you go their channel they don't have anything to show how it's done. One did and sure didn't show much Coryell blows your ass away.
Sorry this still isn't very happening....very sloppy, time is shaky and the harmony is not that solid some of the time...also there's no real musicality coming from them just diarrhea...Coryell is so overrated..bring it on lol!
his group sucks. probably a cheap pick up band so he'd have enough for his coke.they had to play half time to accommodate the piano player. no way he could have soloed at the full tempo. when he comps he's more lost than tommy Flanagan in his solo was on Giant Steps. the drummer is playing bullshit. check Coryell with Joey de Francesco. altogether. different
Awful. How he had a professional career is beyond me. Sloppy looking and sloppy playing. Zero swing, can’t make the changes, lousy sound- why play at that tempo 😂

Yeah, got to meet and talk a little with Larry. A very cool and polite guy.
It's great! Thanks a lot!! From BRAZIL!!!
R.I.P. Larry! 💫🙏 ... and be IN the Moment!
Larry Coryell's guitar solo in this is one of the best guitar solos ever.
The drive and musicality is superior.
Could not agree more with you Mr...
Great solo.
Hopefully there’s a cure for your lack of hearing.

well said
Larry live is something to behold..., no pun intended. Saw his solo act in Denver and the man's a wizard on the guutar.
Rediscovering Larry after many decades - ohhhhhhh muh gawd
Masterful guitar to say the least ~
It just goes to show that Larry could be a killin' straight ahead hard bop player if that's what he wanted.
ALWAYS HAD SOME QUESTION MARKS OVER LARRY...R.I.P.........NOT ANY MORE...SOME OF THE BEST CORRYEL EVER..IMHO..
Major bad ass Larry Coryell. Great solo. If you break out a Super 400...you better be able to play.
Thanks sooooo much for this....great tune, great musicians, great improvisation!
C.G.T. Ukiah, CA
Thanks for the comment--yeah Larry did have a different haristyle! The musicians are Kennwood Dennard (d), Bill Foster (b), Mark Sherman (p)
He is the most advanced jazz guitarist of his generation.Great Larry Coryell.
Nice guitar solo, Mr Coryell, good tempo
great
great add and great playing. Who were these other musicians? I'll have to ask Larry about that hairdo!
wow !!
the moderator of this post says the piano is Mark Sherman
looks awfully like a young Dave Kikoski
The piano player is Mark Sherman the vibraphonist composer from NYC
Larry Coryell is unbeatable when it comes to improvisation...
His improvisational skills are even better than Maclaughlin or Holdsworth..!!
are you crazy? holdsworth is god.
Reanimatorhead (7
ManelFogo Holdsworth was wonderful. Larry was wonderful.
cookin'

You don't know jack.
I’m hearing him play the changes…and
Nappy head of hair there....
Little story telling from the guitarist mainly finger movements and out of his League as compared to most other instruments.
Totally agree.

Lol this really isn't very happenin. The time is WEAK...

@Heinz Bauman Couldn't have said it better lol!!!
You have your head up your ass.
Aaron Lebos I agree. It’s not very good, much aimless walking, sort of making the changes...sort of...

Not my thing, barely making the changes and no real lines.
It’s kind of a mess, actually...oh well.
the band,yes, coryell no.
@@TedBurke piano man seems lost!

You are.
Banal, childish, and stuttering .... his improvisations were not logical
Infant.
