@junmarapao Actually we are already used to these kind of bashing. But you really can't blame them because that is the extent of their knowledge. I guess the saying is true "Ignorance is bliss." Only when they try and play with us that they realize, that there is in fact a major difference in how we train. Sir Bob always reminded us to be patient and be humble. For most people dont realize how humility can become your finest weapon in combat. All warfare is based on deception.
You got it the opposite dude, same variation but different style, same balintawak ok..but in style some are korto, medyo korto and largo, I’ll give an example look at GMTabibina style is very close I would say korto and shorter stick ,GMTaboada style is mediyo korto to largo with medium stick ,GM Nene Gaabucayan is mostly largo and longer stick, you see ..same Balintawak variations but different style , they got their own distance mode and they master that styles ,the attack mode and defense mode it’s the same which is the variation of Balintawak.
@MacJ007 thank you very much. what can you say about the issue of "Angel Blancia" as the origin of the FMA and that Anciong Bacon (founder of Balintawak) is one of his students who are referred as "traitors.?" I hope you you can answer me in a nice way. I am just asking for me to understand and know the reality if there is. Thank you.
wid due respect to the critics, its rather safe 2 alow d Balintawak Gurus to share d incomprble art of stick fyting. f u realy r brave den try them. just beware, b very aware of d consequences.
I think the word smell is not exact, though simhot does mean smell in Cebuano. I believe the word sniff is more apt. Sniff, as in a dog sniffing another dog to determine if they are hostile or friendly. It evokes a sense of being able to smell danger and know how dangerous a man's level of skills are upon first contact.

its not good imo. just like all of balintawak variants. only because they focus way, wayyyy to much on close fighting but never on how you get into close combat.
+Tyler Lalonde What makes you think we don't practice closing the gap? If I have a solid defense on close range, then I have the eyes to see your attacks. What is there to fear in closing the gap? Our mindset is different because we are willing to get hit to achieve what I aim, as long as I minimize my damage. We don't match fight, we aim to finish the fight the fastest way we can.
+Tyler Lalonde Then you need to wake up my friend. Everybody gets hit in a fight. But it's how you get hit and trade blows that would make the difference. If you don't have that mindset you'll never be able to counter effectively.
And that's why you will never understand how we train. We are the complete opposite of what is been currently taught around the world. Train with me and I will enlighten you.
My total respect. Salamat Po.
I love it!! Awesome stick methodology.

Normally i am not afraid of sticks but hell this is crazy , love this !
@judazantos It means "sense me." It has a very deep meaning to a Tabimina Balintawak practitioner.
Check Bobby taboada balintawak you guys will see the differences the technique and styles .
Same style different variation dude. Unless ur a balintawak practitioner.. you wouldn’t know.

These are just the beautiful forms wait until you see an arnis practitioner defend him/her self
Tabimina Balintawak and Taboada Balintawak are differente styles of Balintawak ?
There are some variations but the same principles.
Thank you
I wonder if we change it with sword. It must be deadly
it came from using swords... the only reason it became sticks is because the spanish colonizers banned bladed weapons during occupation...
would like to inquire if there instructors in makati and manila area
The Tabiminas live there. You should look for Bobby Tabimina, Flint Tabimina and Dag Tabimina on Facebook.

i understand "simhota ko dong" but i think it is used in another way.
I think it has anothre meaning other than "smell me boy."

Jojo Ygay being willing to take a hit is a very bad mindset. The exact problem I have with his style.

Jojo Ygay you can get hit that's doesn't mean you will. And you should train not to get hit.
