Douglas Munro Medal of Honor Wreath Laying Ceremony Sep 27, 2022

Memorial ceremony held on Sep 27, 2022, at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Cle Elum, Washington, honoring Coast Guard Signalman First Class DOUGLAS MUNRO. He selflessly laid down his life while helping save a battalion of United States Marines on Guadalcanal on Sept 27, 1942, and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his heroism - the only Coast Guardsman so honored by our nation. His remains are laid to rest in a special memorial setting in the cemetery alongside a number of family members.
